Rooibos tea is just wonderful! I love that it is packed full of antioxidants but doesn't have the caffeine so I can drink it anytime. It was a wonderful earthy taste to it, not too strong just revitalizing!

Great minds think alike. I've been enjoying the benefits of LED/RED&NIR with Maysama for a year now. I’m finally more consistent, using LED red light consistently 5x a week for 3 mos. with lovely results. The August study is small but impressive! As an occupational therapist I was aware of the benefits of LED for wound healing for some time. So much fun to hear about all the recent studies showing benefits for skincare rejuvenation. Hi beautiful….. can I ask is there different qualities of led light products? For example is your Aduro mask similar to the Mito in terms of quality and results. There are so many led products on the market what are we looking for? Hope that makes sense.

Hi gorgeous, I am happy you are here. The most important thing to look for is the right wave length as well as how many lights to not just get a q-tip coverage. So the wave length can be anywhere from 600-1300. My mito for example has 660/670 and 830/850. I believe the aduro is quite similar. Once you have the right wave length and enough LED"s, it just depends on your preference. Do you want a mask or a panel for full coverage or a hand held device.... I hope this helps some, but I will actually make a video on all the different LED devices soon and hopefully that will be helpful xx

I am sorry to hear you are not liking the Maysama serum. I apply mine to damp skin and not only does it help to spread it, but I do feel it helps with hydration as well. Might be worth a try. But if regular green tea gave you good results, that is great as well xx

After a month of using the serum and light panel, I am so delighted with the results. The biggest changes are the pores on my cheeks look nearly non-existent, the wrinkles sound my eyes and gone and the overall clarity of my skin is beautiful. You look amazing, Claudia! I have the Mito Red light mini and just bought the largest one. I love all the detailed and excellent research on red light therapy. I know from 2 years of my own experience that it does work as the research literature has proven. This research using Maysama not so much. Why? The sample size was only 16. Was it double blinded and peer reviewed? She said a third party. There would have to be a much larger sample size, be double blinded and peer reviewed from a scientific aspect. What specific scientific measures were used to evaluate the outcomes with and without the Maysama? What about including a green tea serum (isntree) in future research, with the above parameters? I like statistically significant research.

Hi Rhonda, I am happy to hear you are loving your Mito. I just got a Mito panel as well and like you, LOVE it! As far as the study. I agree, it was a small study, but I would not say it is insignificant. The study everyone quotes on green tea and LED was a study of 1. Of course a bigger sample size is always preferred, but Bev owns a small company and studies are not cheap and again, while small, I would not call it insignificant. Yes, The green tea with one person is biased for sure. I just use clean skin. So Glad you got the Mito, I did a lot of searching and the mini has worked great for 2 years. I just got the larger one a month ago to use on my body. If you have not discovered this podcast- I wanted to recommend if to you. It is Andrew Huberman and I highly recommend it. Hi Rhonda. The test results are for claims testing. They follow a strict protocol for claims testing and are performed by an independent regulatory laboratory. Maysama serum is the only ‘green tea’ product tested for the application of use as a Co-treatment with LED light therapy. And the results now allow Maysama Green Rooibos Serum to carry the claim ‘Improves Outcomes for LED’. The sample size is consistent with regulatory testing. Please do not confuse this with clinical trials. 🙏💚

Claims testing- Ah-Ha ! You are absolutely correct. I was definitely looking at it from a clinical trials perspective. Forgive me. I work in research at a National Cancer Institute designated Precision Medicine Clinic. It is phase 1 trials with some phase 2 and 3 trials for chemotherapy and Monoclonal Antibody infusions. Much different from skincare products! Because of this-I believe I do look at studies/testing with a clinical trials bias. ❤

By the way Claudia, since i started watching your channel about 4 months ago I have noticed your much improved appearance in comparecent to older videos from last year. The shape of your face is very attractive and lovely to look at. Your skin has always been radiant, but I believe the " jaw correction " product you have covered here expertly is having an accumulative result.

If they would work as well is hard to say without studying it, but again, I think any would be better than none. I am really happy you are here and hipe you are having a great week xx

Hi. The science suggests that any antioxidant would bring some benefit but it also supports that ‘green tea’ antioxidants would give you a clear advantage. The reason for this is the target of the antioxidant. LED light activate mitochondrial respiration, which drives the production of ATP but also generates free radicals. Excess free radicals are normally mopped up by your body’s Antioxidant defences, which include the Antioxidant enzyme Superoxide Dismutase. Green tea and green Rooibos are Superoxide dismutase mimetics, which means they target free radicals at source, in the mitochondrial membrane, where they are produced by the action of your red light device. Other antioxidants will fight free radicals in other parts of the cell, so not as effective for this application. 💚

Hi Claudia, I began following your channel a couple of months ago and I have been heavily influenced by you (bought aduro, haielle, maysama, donotage products in the last month). I am 45, I love to research the web (sometimes slightly maniacally) and lately I have been into skincare and led light therapy. I started with the Aduro led light mask that you reccommended, fell in love with led light therapy ever since, started an exthensive research about it, including Ali Whitten's book and Alex Fergus's youtube channel and some websites about biohacking. I talked to Haielle's founder about how he cured his psoriasis with LLT. I even used the aduro mask wrapped around my elbows to see if it had any effect on my psoriasis: it has almost cleared it out after one month! I really believe it helped with my mood and sleep too and I found that the skin on my face has improved in elasticity. That is the reason why I returned the mask and bought a more powerful mini handheld device to treat my face and small parts on my body (cannot afford a large panel yet, but plan to save for it in the future). Now I would like to share with you a couple of thoughts and questions I have: 1) NIR and hyperpigmentation doubts: I began using the aduro led mask on the RED + NIR setting daily, but found that some hyperpigmentation spots on my cheeks were more noticeable after the treatment. This scared me a lot, I did some research and have read come controversial affirmations about NIR stimulating hyperpigmentation. I have used it on my face on the RED only ever since just because I'm worried. Do you use RED + NIR on your face? Did you experience hyperpigmentation issues? 2) EYE PROTECTION and NIR doubts: I have experienced some discomfort in my eyes while using the mask, again did some research and again I read controversial aspects. I don't understand if it helps with sight, some say red light only improves vision, some say NIR is very dangerous for your sight. I just find that I won't take the risk and since it disturbs my eyes when I have the red light shining bright on them (especially with the powerful handheld device), I will just cover my eyes with goggles and a dark headband wrapped around them, unfortunately losing the antiageing benefits on the skin around my eyes. So how am I supposed to know if I am risking my sight? I am very curious to know what you think about it since it is a very sensible issue. Do you use RED + NIR on your face? Do you protect your eyes? 3) Maysama and international shipping: I wrote to Bev about thisissue. I like the rooibos serum and I really would like to make it a staple of my routine, but shipping costs plus import duties makes it really too expenshive. Please Bev think about european and overseas customers, please find a way to lower shipping or collect taxes/duties.

Hi, I am so happy you are here. And wow, you have certainly done your research! Good for you! As far as the NIR and RED, in the past some people have speculated that the bit of heat NIR gives off could contribute to hyperpigmentation, so it was great to see in Bev's study that this seems to actually not be the cause. Personally I use both, RED and NIR, but if you have any concern I would say just use RED, at least on the places you have pigmentation. I do not protect my eyes, much to the dislike of my husband. I actually just got a mito panel and sit in front of it without googles. Of course I close my eyes, but I love the feeling I get from the light, sort of light sun bathing without the damage, so I do not protect my eyes. But again, if you are concerned, I would say def. do so. I honestly have not done too much research on this and really need to do so. So I will keep you posted on what I learn. Looks like Bev already answered your question and she had some really great news! Great news for me as well, living in France, to not have to pay VAT :). I am sorry I have influenced you to spend so much money but I really hope that the things you got are beneficial to you. Plus your videos are an antistress, something in your voice and pace calms me a lot and I love your smile too. I apreciate your honesty and your research led analytic approach. I never have a feeling that you are trying to sell me something. I love Haielle volumizing shampoo and the hydrating mask. My hair is so soft after using them. I do still have a lot of frizz when my hair is dry, maybe I should have bought the oil. I bought their fancy scalp treatment too, but I'm not sure it's doing anything to me. Problem with Haielle: shipping and import fees are crazy high for us europeans. Ouch! I bought a water filter for my shower as water is extremely hard and full of chemicals here in Rome, maybe that will help to reduce the hair frizz. This is the company: helloklean.com. It probably is overpriced in comparison to any other not marketed hyraulic filter, but I was intrigued by their skin scalp products and I hope their filters have skin oriented benefits. Not trying to influence you, I just love to share what I find and I will report on how it works. From donotage I bought the hyaluronic acid and the vitamin D + K2 + mag. So far so good, hadn't had any issues with them. They have an excellent customer service. Please do research about eye protection, especially if you use NIR on your face as the wavelengths penetrate deeper in the eyes and I am not sure that this is without risk. Ciao Claudia! Hi Fari. It’s a great question! The individuals in the studies were of Skin Types I & II, so the effects on hyperpigmentation are inconclusive for darker skin tones. Many dermatologists do not recommend LED light therapy for melanocompetent individuals. 💚

On the mito I have you can actually use red and infra red together or separately which is great, esp. if you are concerned about it making your pigmentation worse. I know they say to apply it first, but since Maysama is a water based serum and there is quite a bit of time between applications, I think it should be fine and it is how I have been doing it. Hi Cathy, thank you for your kind words. I just recently got a Mito panel and love it! I did not think I would actually take the time to sit in front of it, but I have actually not used my mask since getting the panel. I still think a mask is great, but I love the coverage I get from the panel. As far as how far to sit from the light, personally I like to be pretty close since I love the bit or warmth it gives off. But I think with the Mito the coverage and reach are quite great and you can sit a bit further away and still get good beneiftis I hope this helps xx

I am planning to get a red light panel, initially I was just planning to get the tabletop version, but now I’m thinking about going big and getting a full body panel. Hi Jennifer, thank you for your kind comment. I am so sorry to hear about your CIRS! I do not know if you know, but I struggled with mold illness and actually got an infra red sauna which I LOVE! So I think if I were you I would save a bit of money, get a panel the size I have, which actually while not covering the whole body, covers quite a bit, and also invest in an infra red sauna. Sauna's can be so incredible beneficial for so many things, but esp. to detoxify. Hi Nancy, honestly no. I have seen some studies where LED was used (usually in conjunction with another treatment) to reduce body fat, but I am still not convinced and am not worried at this point that it melts facial fat. I hope there will be some studies on this soon though, but for now, I will keep using my LED :) xx

Hi River, I am not sure that LED actually burns fat. So far I have seen one study in which a certain kind of LED was used with liposuction and it helped with fat loss, but that does not translate to LED burning fat. If you have any other studies on this though, I would be very interested to see them. But for now, I am not worried about LED burning facial fat or any other fat

I see more age spot on my face since i use it, i also use tretinoin 3x per week. I see doctors talk about the irradiance of no more then 30 mW/cm² and the mask that i have has much higher irradiance between 48/72 mW/cm² because it has 3 settings. Do you think the mask i have is too high and is giving me age spots? And what do you think about the use of tretinoin with this kind of mask? Hi to the Netherlands :) I would say it could be from the infra red. Some people have noticed infra red causing more hyperpigmentation. Can you choose to just use red light and not infra red? Most newer devices let you to so. I think that tretinoin is fine to use with red light and personally I do as well xx

Hi Claudia, I hope you are doing well!!! Thanks for proving all this information on RU-vid. Do you reccomend the light panel or the aduro led face mask more? Is there one that is better for very sensitive skin? Does LED light therapy make your more sensitive to the sun? I still haven't found a daily sunscreen that doesn't make my skin flush more, and I don't like tinted sunscreen. But I havent been trying new sunscreens either! Oily/moisturizing sunscreen really make my face red. My main concern is cheek flushing. I have type 1 rosacea. I pretty much cured the cheek flushing in high school with nutrient diet, no dairy, avoid sun (my skin was too sensitive to wear sunscreen everyday), and literally using fresh aloe vera gel every day from a plant on my skin. Unfortunately 3 years ago, I tried differin gel for 1 day for blackheads, and it caused a burning on my face. For a year my skin was really red again. And all my old cures aloe or serums my skin liked no longer worked. For 2 years I washed my skin with fresh ground oats, because everything else made it irritated. But I would still get acne if I didn't wash it. Presently, my skin is wayyy better off. it's just that I get flushing in my cheeks when I smile and stuff. Now I'm trying to remove that redness/flushing from my skin. Do you have any other products/machines you think I should try for this specific problem? You have a lot of reccomendations and I want to pinpoint what I should try first for the flushing! Thank you so much Claudia!!!

Hi Jasmine, thank you for your kind comment. I think that both, an LED mask as well as a panel are great. But personally, having both, I use my panel much more frequently. I like that it gives me better coverages and I use it almost daily. I actually think it might help you some with the flushing. There are some studies showing that LED decreases redness. I used to have very bad rosacea, and for me IPL treatments made all the difference. Have you tried IPL? You might just need a couple of treatments and they are not too expensive. I have been loving the Beauty of Jeason sunscreen. It is a Korean, chemical spf and it is un-tinted. It uses new chemical filters not available in the US which are great for sensitive skin. I absolutely love it and so does my skin. It also never irritates my eyes. But wearing spf is what ultimately, aside from the IPL, kept my rosacea at bay. So if I were you, I would get an LED device that fits your budget and life style. A mask is easier to use but a panel gives more coverage and is more versatile. I would look into IPL for the flushing. And if you have not tried the BOJ sunscreen, give it a try. I hope this helps. Wishing you a very happy and healthy new year. Hi Claudia, just now getting into the idea of red light therapy, and am really intrigued with the Mito system -so happy you have it because that is the very same device I was most interested in. I have a bit of hyperpigmentation (two or three tiny stubborn spots) that just do not respond to hydroquinone and tretinoin. I would love to stop wearing makeup, actually but I find that those spots prevent me from completely going makeup free. Hoping red light helps ? Did you ever have any hyperpigmentation? Also, do you think the small hand held LED systems are effective at all or would you just take the plunge directly into the large panels? I’m about to head over to your red light sauna vid 😊

It gives you the most coverage and has such powerful irradiance. I had hyperpigmentation from sun damage a long time ago and got rid of it with IPL treatments. So I can not tell you if red light helped with that, but I def. do not get any hyperpigmentation from the red light. Hi, thank you for being here. There was a very small study suggesting that green tea enhances the results of LED as well. But not other ingredients have really been studied with LED. Hi B. I’m interested to know which device you have been using and also what distance you are from the device for your treatment. We have had several discussions with Prof Andrei Sommer regarding hyperpigmentation. He has used photobiomodulation with several clients to successfully treat hyperpigmentation and our studies support that a combination of red-NIR can help reduce hyperpigmentation. There are many factors however that can contribute to the result so cannot be 100%. Skin photo type, equipment used, distance from light, treatment time. 💚

I was probably 10”-12” away from it for 10 minutes. Recently, however, my husband put the mounting for the door so I now stand at least two feet from it for 10 minutes. I just began using the Maysama serum and only using the near infrared light. I am eager and willing to adjust my method per your recommendations to hopefully get the results your of your study.

Dear Claudia, I have the Celluma Pro LED panel and they recommend that the skin is free of any product when using it. But I haven't found any information on whether that's a strict guideline or if they are just worried that people might use the wrong product so it's easier just to recommend zero product. The session is half an hour and my skin really doesn't feel comfortable without a product for too long after cleansing, it gets quite tight and dry and the slight heat from the LED dries it even more. I would absolutely love to use it with the rooibos serum but I'm not sure I have enough information to make that decision in relation to my specific device. I am wondering if you have come across the answer on your research journey. 💖

I think you are probably correct by assuming that the company is worried about people using the wrong thing with their LED and so the recommendation is to use it with clean skin. Personally, especially if your skin feels uncomfortable without anything on it, I would use either this serum or something similar, making sure there are not oils in it. I hope this helps. I have the PlatinumLED full-body panels and they are great but I’m not convinced that the distance that works for body also works for the face, which is why I ordered the Celluma…which arrives this week! Anyway I’ve been using the Maysama with my Platinum red light/near infrared lights the past week and it does help a bit with the feeling of dryness but not a ton. I do think it’s better than nothing but it’s not a huge difference. Having said that, I feel confident that it’s not impeding the light penetration since it’s to be applied 15-20 minutes before using the red light /near infrared panels.

LilyAndDaisy, enjoy the Celluma, I'm excited for you. You'll love it! I think it's well worth the investment. I've had mine for a few years now and I use it quite regularly. I'm very happy with my skin, people often can't believe my age. It definitely requires a time commitment though. I do one session for my face and one for my neck, which is an hour out of my day, which I should probably be using on the rest of my endless to-do list. I just received the Mayasama serum and used it today for the first time. And you're right, it's definitely better than nothing in terms of that dry feeling of my bare skin, but that's enough for me, as long as it takes the edge off and provides a bit of comfort during the session. But I'm really excited about the increased benefits to the function of the LED light. Hoping to preserve my face the way it is :) All the best with your Celluma results! 🎀

Hi again Claudia :-) I guess I do have another question. 😊 After I wash my face, I apply hyaluronic acid serum combined with Cereve moisturizer. Then I wait 20 minutes and apply the curology Tretinoin along with a little more moisturizer. I first use the LED mask. So along with those products, I am assuming it is still OK to apply the roobose first with the facemask. Then follow through with my regular regimen.

Hi, I use it before my LED, which I usually do in the mornings. I apply it when my skin is still a bit damp which helps with the spread and probably also hydration. You could use it at night as well though. As far as the panel, I use the Mito Light Starter 3.0. I think that all of their lights are fantastic, it just depends on the size you would like. Mine covers face, neck and chest. If you want I reached out to Mito and they gave me a 5% discount code, not much, but better than nothing ;) The code is Claudia5 xx

Hi, yes. In the study the serum was applied 15 minutes before the LED, so letting it dry first is a good idea. But it will work with your Omnilux as well x

@@TheZahra110 I honestly do not think you need it if you are happy with the results you are getting from your other skincare and devices. If you use LED, you could try using green tea before hand to get some antioxidants on your skin. Or use any other antioxidant serum you have about 15 minutes before, to make sure to counteract some of the free radical damage of LED x

Hi Lisette, great to hear from you. So I just recently got the Mito Panel and LOVE it. I do love the aduro mask as well, but have really only been using the Panel since I got it. I love that it covers my face, neck and chest and that I can use it on other areas of the body as well. But you have to of course take the time to sit in front of it, versus the mask you can multi task with. And the mask is cheaper... If I had to chose between the two right now, I would choose the panel. I do have a discount code for the Mito (unfortunately Aduro no longer gives a discount), if you want to use it it is Claudia5 and hopefully they will have a great Black Friday Sale.
