Daisy Silk is also pretty good, and Quince has silk at very affordable prices. Their $60 US silk skirts, a wardrobe staple for me, are the best ever, and the price is just incredible for the quality. I have the same beautiful ribbed silk jersey dress, but in the soft white. I’m planning to wear it for our Christmas celebration. It’s very comfortable, but the strapless bra I’ll have to wear with it isn’t! Oh well, it will be for three hours or less.

I have hyper-sensitive skin (even cheap cotton can a problem) and allergies to plastics, so no synthetic fibers on me! Over the years, I have been buying more and more silk items, the comfort of this fiber is just incomparable. I’m retired, have no children to care for, or messy jobs to do, and I find it quite easy to care for. It rarely needs washing, it sheds dirt and doesn’t absorb odors, so, unless I get a spot or get sweaty, which is hard to do in breathable silk, I just air it and rewear it. When it does get dirty, I just wash it in my machine’s “Hand-Wash” cycle and hang dry, or dry flat for heavier silk knits or blends. It does have a high affinity for stains and they can’t be treated as aggressively as on plant fibers. But, I just take reasonable care in eating, drinking and the minimal cooking I do and rarely get a spot. It usually needs only that one initial ironing to get packing the packing/shipping wrinkles out. Or I steam it or even just spray the wrinkles with water and let it dry! I ignore “Dry Clean Only” routinely for simple silk (and cashmere and wool) garments, and have never had a problem. For structured garments, like blazers, which might have non-washable structural elements like interfacings, I do get them dry-cleaned, but not very often! Many “Dry Clean” labels just reflect the practice called “Low Labeling”, designed to minimize returns, even when the items really should be washed instead. Where I live, in California, most “dry-cleaning” is actually a chemical solvent-free, wet-washing technique, to meet our strict environmental laws. They have special “steam frames” to keep the garments from damage in this technique. Look for it where you live❤

I'm one that does long comments but I think you have me beat. Then I saw a second comment from you. I was laughing because I know I give to much information sometimes. But you really do have some good information in your comments. I've read your comments on other influencers as well and learned things from you. Have you ever thought about doing your own videos so that your helpful information could reach more people? It sounds like you would be great at it. I'd love to see it.
