Those are great.I need some obviously... so much thread in my studio... sheesh. But I'd also like to say that the European thread, like Guterman, has a thin layer of the core that is designed to hole the thread tight... just like in the older spools that had the cut in the end allowing the spool to be fastened off so it didn't get loose and dangly. Good Video though. Great Product.

Hello .. That big spool of grey thread you showed, I have some of them and want to transfer the thread to a normal sized ( like the brown thread you showed ) do you know of any machine that will do this for me. I don't want to have to buy a sewing machine just for this one process .. hope you can help , thank you.. a great idea you have there Madamsew..

Hi Maurice, you can do that with a sewing machine but, using the same procedure as for winding up bobbins. What kind of machine do you have if not a sewing machine?

I don't have a machine of any kind.. I just want to take thread from a cone spool and transfer it to a normal sized wooden spool... I just thought you may know of a machine that does this..

Unfortunately we don't know of any method which won't include a sewing machine! :(

There is a regular holder for the cone threads. They sell them at Walmart, Michael's, JoAnn's, and on line. It is a separate holder for the cone thread with a tall thread guide so it can reach your machine and you don't have to worry about it wobbling around or moving. I have 3 of them. Madam Sew has a Pink Spool holder that holds three of them with a thread guide and a place to put bobbins in the lower tray. They are lightweight, so not for fast industrial sewing, but very efficient and useful. I have one.
