Getting 14 Sheep - and a LLAMA 

I saw the same farming practice of keeping Llama with sheep and lambs everywhere in Australia. It seemed cool seeing them living in harmony. And they actually guard them. God bless your livestock and land. Love from down under :)

The manure from the lama can be placed directly in the garden, also makes great "tea" for the plants as it does not burn the plants with the level of nitrogen in it

So excited for you guys, Dan! How cool to have Penny the Llama to guard the sheep. I had my husband watch the video where you and Ashley built the brooder and it inspired him to build a brooder for the poultry we're due to get next week. I had purchased those laminated cardboard things from Premier 1 to make the brooder, but I wasn't happy with it. No top on it and it seems not substantial enough. So kudos to your recent brooder video... our brooder is made from salvaged closet doors and it cost $10. :))

After watching this vid a week ago, I've been looking for every Katahdin vid I can find. Might be my pasture revitalization crew, red meat producers and compost manure providers (for the chicken & rabbit powered compost factory) in a couple years.

So nice to see sheep back on your property. What kind of predator pressure have you been having? Are the chickens ok?

How good is a llama against predators like coyotes, wolves and dogs? Nice to see your sheep... Will you be building a bigger shelter to lodge them all under the same roof? Love to see your homestead grow... :)

ha ha ... that snow scared me 😨 "it because I'm a Florida guy" Sheep look great. Tess seems a very excellent sheep breeder and loves what she does! I noticed one of the rams mounting someone! So I gress you will soon separate them? I truly hope you can find the time to make tea from Lama stool ! I'm interested in seeing results. that's because I raise red wigglers solely to make tea for my kale adiction😊 . Oh! another great video!

Oh my, I thought you just bought 4 ewes, I was surprised to see all the babies. How in world would you change Penny's halter? They are all beautiful.

Your breeder did a wonderful job weighting her sheep. Since you are a small homestead how are you going to weight them without owning an expensive scale?

Hi Dan I live in Barbados and I also have sheep but you need to separate the rams from the ewes as soon as they are done nursing because if he has everything working corectly down there he can produce semen as early as 3 weeks old

I've always loved lama's from a distance. Although I love animals and they always take to me, lamas have never liked me. I don't know why, but something about me bothers lamas. They always get upset and start spitting. Weird, huh? ;-)
