The Grass-fed Homestead is all about using permaculture principles to ethically and sustainably raise plants and animals to provide my family with healthy, nutrient-dense sustenance while regenerating our landscape.
Thank you so much. Your video was great explaining and showing how its done. I have one I have to do tomorrow. I'm going to feed all the chickens yogurt and scrambled eggs in the morning. I don't have a separate place to take her away from the flock.
Glad to see a new upload from you. But to be honest, Greg Judy is vastly more interesting to me than the Vermont guy, just a ton more knowledge and experience. Though, I guess the Morgan guy could talk at length about how to alienate his neighbors, which apparently he’s pretty good at.
I much rather watch Morgan as Greg's scale of farming is unattainable to me and Morgan's admitted lack of a farming background lets me learn from his mistakes.
@dagmarfrerking2235 What greg does is scalable. I have 17 acres and use his exact practices. From fencing to water lines to rotational plans. Would work on 5 acres. Idk what the guy in the great white north does that is scalable.
Gold Shaw farm put that hunter's real name on yt and he started getting death threats. Whether you agree with bear hunting or not, that crossed a line.
Thank you I am looking forward to watching the documentaries, we lost our ducks and some chickens to bobcats here in Florida on our little acre homestead.
I was just thinking this week: "I wonder how Dan, little buddy, dancepartner and Willow are doing". Nice to see you doing a video again. I hope this extended battery system works well for you
You could do a little DIY and just grind/cut down some of the width of those large lugs on the large cables. It looks like only a small amount of material would need to come off to make it fit, so not enough to compromise the structural/electrical integrity of the lugs. Another DIY option is just buy small lugs and crimp it yourself onto the large cables. If you can't find the large cable with small lugs, less DIY option is to just double the cables, use 2 of them, it looks like enough space on the battery post to put 2 lugs. Instead of having all that power run through 1 cable, it'll distribute through 2. Give you some peace of mind if you can't find the large cables with small lugs and don't want to do DIY stuff.
I got a rambolet ram born this year on January 28 2024 it is now June 25th also got a targhee ewe born January 24th will they be ready to breed this year?
To go extra no waste you can turn the bone into edible paste. As a bonus you can say "I grind skulls" without someone saying that it's an exaggeration... because it wouldn't be.
Most states have state-inspected processors where you can sell that processed meat but only within the state. USDA inspection allows for sales across state lines. Rules for labeling, storage differ from state to state and in some instances it’s easier to work with a USDA inspected facility. But that might be an option for those not close to a USDA processor.
If you have hogs you can contact your local organize crime syndicate/s and work out at deal with them so that they feed your hogs for free. One of the stipulations are, you can never see what they are feeding your hogs and they tend to do it at 3:00 a.m.. Every once in awhile you might find what looks like human teeth but pay no mind. 👌💯
I’m trying to figure out how to train my livestock guardian dog to watch the sheep. We just got the sheep. If they haven’t done it are they able to learn how?
Hey mate! I’ve had some belly curing for 8 days now and moisture is still coming out. What can I do? How long is too long for the curing process? The skin is on so I’m assuming more moisture because of the skin?
