Well the tank was more suitable for the leopard gecko 😆 cresties need vertical space and lots of branckes and plants to climb on. Both geckos are wonderful pets to handle. Petco is not a good place to get a pet tho, I would recommend getting them from a breeder or specialized quality reptile store tho. But I wish all the best for you and your lizard friend! Edit the poor little baby leopard gecko 💖 poor thing had even dropped its tail and grown it back 💔 I would have honestly kept the little guy 😅 but I'm a softie
it’s me from the future! haha. i completely agree with all your points. i had used that cage temporarily until I felt it was old enough to find it’s food in a large vertical tank! currently (2 and a half years later) he’s happy and healthy and in a 18x18x24 exo terra! also, I don’t support petco either. im very lucky to have gotten a healthy gecko. but for anyone looking for a gecko i agree it’s best to go to a reputable breeder! thanks for watching 💕

That leopard gecko is so sweet. It really bums me out that the pet store put it through all the stress of moving to a new place and moving back right when it gets comfortable.

Just a heads up regarding the water for the crestie.. You can use normal tap water as long as you use ReptiSafe, to remove any chemicals or bacteria which is harmful to them! Just a helpful tip - we use it for our 9 reptiles - including leopard geckos and cresties and it works amazing! :)
Or you could just let your tap water sit with an open lid so all the chlorine evaporates after 24hours…. I don’t trust ANY chemical deemed “safe” , that is sold by any major pet store/business let alone the tap water supplied by our government… I just upgraded my tap with a reverse osmosis kit for under $200… I’ll never have to worry about crap water again (for both me & my reptiles)…,
I hate bugs as well but unfortunately throughout time I learned that it’s best to feed them both bugs and their fruit diet🥲 I feed mine the Pangea fruit mix 4 times a week and crickets once a week. While they get most of their nutrients from the fruit mix, they grow a lot slower without bugs, and can become a bit underweight. I will be making an updated video on how I care for mine so look out for that video in the next 2 weeks or so for more tips! It’s been 2 years owning mine and he’s doing great.

Just to let you know crested geckos don't need insects but for a healthy diet and to make them grow a little quicker you should feed them crickets, meal worms etc but not all people do it your gecko will just grow a little slower and I saw that you only have a thermometer you need to get a humidity gauge to
Yes!! Since this video, I’ve began feeding my gecko gut-loaded crickets once a week. I noticed that it would lunge at things that move and water droplets on the glass haha, so i figured the pet shop was definitely feeding him crickets previously. I have also bought a humidity gauge since this video as well! Learning day by day but it seems very happy and healthy. 🤍

If I got her right she has a female crestie and the females need way more calcium for egg production. So even though you may be right in common sense of crested geckos, especially for adult ones, the females need special treatment for calcium purposes if they do not get fed insects.
id say everything is fine with how you did this , the only thing id change would be instead of a horizontal cage get a vertical cage since crested geckos like to go up and down rather from side to side, since thats how they live in the wild up in the trees.

She didn't set up anything. I could set up the same enclosure with my shoe box, some toilet paper, 3 euro plastics and a bottle of water.... Damn poor animals !
Just hopefully helpful, advice is don't use drinking water for reptiles, use reptisafe water conditioner its blue and you add a few drops to tap water making it safe for them
This is proll staged cause that tank is more suitable for a leopard Gecko than a crested gecko. even if it wasn't you must not have done your research because crested geckos usually are more comfortable in versicle tanks.
That's what happened when I got my lizard yeah I had to go back to the store and say this was my wrong lizard I had it make sure there's like 1 more left in there if there's not you're bad luck you're probably have to wait May be for a long time I don't know it was for couple of days but maybe it's a long time for those geckos come back in there tickle it 1 week it was lot for me like oh my god😵😱

I think I have the powdered food I haven't looked at it yet have some stuff for geckos and I thought I was gonna get a gecko but my parents had a bearded dragon cause our ceiling there would be high up and it thought would probably climb up there🤗😅It's really hard to have a bearded dragon there are need a lot of attention😩
Hear me out😭. They put my crestie in a box, then brought the box to the cash register for me to get checked out, but there was a line. So i waited on line but they had several reptiles being purchased that day. So there was several reptile boxes at the register. Im guessing the lady either mislabeled my box or simply handed me the wrong one. But i didnt think she would mess it up 🤦🏽♀️.

I would like to say that that enclosure is not suitable for a crest gecko it is there for a leopard gecko do you need vertical length nuts floor space for a crusty so that’s actually a really good enclosure for a leopard gecko I understand that you’re mad but your closure was more suitable and maybe if you tipped it up on its side it would be suitable for a cresty

Would you believe I've had the gecko for almost 2 months now and I still don't have a name lol!! I love those ideas though. For now I've been calling it Blue, like the dinosaur from Jurassic World haha.
