Hi! I’m Christine! After working for many years in sales and business ownership, I felt major burnout. I sold my houses, extra cars, and most of my belongings. Now I'm happier than ever having very few material things. I travel living out of my vehicle. I roam the USA looking for adventure, food, and fun! I'm never sure what the future holds. The deeper the love, the deeper the bond; the harder it is to mourn and accept. I lost my mom to cancer last spring and I still miss her every day, what seems like every minute of every day sometimes. Spend as much time with your parents as you can.

Welcome back, Christine. After reading many of the comments posted here, I know what you mean by "We". You are truly loved by this community. "We" all support you and look forward to traveling with you. Someone once told me "You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails and still get to your destination", I think about that often (even though I don't sail anymore). I'm happy to see you are adjusting your sails and are continuing on through your voyage of life.

I started my camping/travel life after my husband died. It is a good way to heal your heart. Be good to yourself. It will pass in time. Loss is part of life. Like you I always stop as soon as it gets dark. I want sun, I don't want to miss anything!

Chase was such a great travel buddy. It's only normal to feel a void when we lose one of our best buddies. Chase became one of our buddies too. We all miss Chase, but I am so happy to see you getting your travel legs back. It's wonderful to see all the beauty of our country through your eyes.

Christine, there is no right or wrong on how to grieve. The best you can do is feel whatever comes up, and know it will pass. It sucks to feel, but it won't hurt you or anything worse. You will grieve the way you feel it in your own way....cuddling "Scott" is a good way to self soothe yourself, nothing embarrassing about self care. Take care of yourself! Remember Chase, and think of him often, he will put a smile on your face!! ....Glad to see you back doing what you love! It's always hard to leave family no matter where we are in life. Glad to see you smile, and happy! Keep it up, travel and explore!!

Christine love, this is my first time following, and I really understand your sadness after putting my Yorkie, down after fifteen years, I had her cremated so she could be with me always, I cry a lot when I’m alone which I try not to be. I was a little teary eyed when you first started talking. My Zoe passed a few days after we returned from a short trip a few years ago. She loved to travel, and I was so glad she got to do that. It took me a little while before I finally healed from her loss. I know Chase is there with you in spirit, and he’d want you to continue traveling. Give yourself time, and maybe you’ll get another dog. I must say I’m a little envious that you’re down south when I’m stuck in dreary Indiana-although we have had some sun off and on the last few days.

The loss of a much loved fur baby is so devastating. My heart goes out to you, and I know what you're going through. When our son graduated high school, he joined the Marines. His whole adult life he's either lived on the West coast and now up North in Michigan. We're in South Carolina. As a parent, we've always wished he lived closer, especially since we're getting older, but we've never once tried to make him feel guilty for being so far away. As parents, we want our kids closer, but we have to let them live their lives and follow their dreams. Your parents will be just fine and I'm sure very proud of you. Stay safe.

Thank you for sharing this with us, we lost our Buster Bear 4 weeks ago and we are experiencing the same pain. I didn't expect to feel such grief 😭 it has been so overwhelming. After losing a BDFF it's best to look for another. We lost a dog in August of 2016. I convinced my wife to look at pups. She got excited about the prospect. We took possession of a female and male from the same litter. They look nothing alike but they make us happy. Don't grieve too long. There's a dog out there that Chase has ready for you. Blessings!

I’ve been thinking of you so much since Chase passed. Time helps so much with grief and it’s the only thing we can’t slow down or speed up. I still remember when I heard about my Golden Retriever dying back in 2015. Cried for DAYS, because she was my best buddy. Years later, and I just think of the good days with her. I hope you're taking as much time as you need to grieve, because healing will come. (Also, I have my childhood Teddy in my carpartment too, to cuddle and sometimes crush under laundry bags) :)

As soon as I saw your face the heartstrings started and my chest filled with the grief of loss. I’m so proud of you, you made me smile with your unwavering commitment to personal growth, not shying away from the hard emotions. (It took me two years after the loss of my blind cocker spaniel Bella. When you’re someone’s eyes and caregiver it is a challenge to go about your day without them. It is a big adjustment. And I took up sleeping with a teddy that had Bella’s ashes inside. I was 45. I deeply missed her cuddles and I’m not ashamed of needing that comfort). You’ve got this! Chase is always with you. Best advice I ever got after losing a beloved pet was not to deny another loving pet a great home and care. It's not what my buddy I'd lost would want and there are so many who need a home. After some time to mourn I did get another pet. I found out I didnt replace or forget my buddy. I had a wonderful new best friend. Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved. Breaks my heart. We all knew this next phase of your journey without Chase was coming. No joke, I sat here and balled my eyes out on the last in memory of chase video holding my dog as that is my biggest fear in life. So sorry for your loss. Two years ago we had three pup-dogs, Jack, Maggie and Bell-bell, and now we have none. Over a period of 18 months we lost all three. They were 15, 16 and 17 years old when they crossed the rainbow bridge and left our house very empty. Time will heal you. Good luck!

When we animal lovers lose our fur babies is never easy they are our kids. You will never get over it, but it will become easier and more manageable to deal with the pain. You will always think of him and the good times and one day you will find yourself laughing or smiling when you think of the good times. Allow yourself to feel what it feels.

I hadn't had a dog for many years and when we went to visit my nephew in AL there was this beyond cute little 16-pound female that was given to my nephew but his dog had been bitten by a rattle snake and died in his arms and he said he wasn't ready for another dog yet so we took her and now I'd never want to be without one. The joy and love we share together is amazing and it's only been 2 1/2 years. She's 5 now and we walk every nice day here and she's asleep in the window here right now. So, I don't want you to get another dog till you're ready but deep down I hope you do. A great video to start back your trips and Thanks for making me hungry. Ha :)

I lost my dog a year ago and it still doesn't feel right to get another one as of yet. It gives me more time too, to be able to travel to some places where I won't have to worry about a dog being in too hot or too cold a weather situation. I have a stuffed bear too, Freddie. I love that you are back on the road again and seeking new travel adventures. Glad to be traveling with you and thankful for you to share your journies with us. Let the good times ahead roll. I wish I could give you a hug. I love your videos. I live in Birmingham Alabama and you passed by my house on I 65 South. Have safe travels. I know how you feel. We had to put our little dog to sleep. She was 18 years old. You are very beautiful!

First timer, the algorithm brought me to you. I love your sharing the local experience and your wonderful open attitude. I'm looking forward to more.
