In today’s video, I will give you an in-depth tour around my car home. I will show you what it looks like in the daytime (work mode) and the nighttime (chill mode). #livinginmycar #carlife #nobuild #carcamping
Enjoyed your video. I'm fascinated by car living - much more stealth than a van. I use my suv for car camping. I enjoy the challenge of making a small space a home away from home. I just bought a cargo carrier that fits in the back hitch of my suv. Can't wait to get on the road again. Oh. by the way - I'm 73 years old - which goes to show car camping is do-able and enjoyable at any age.
In my home in the winter so I don't have to use the AC heat as it's electric I cover myself with a Sherpa blanket and I will be moving into a vehicle in the fall and I have used a small Sherpa blanket when staying overnight in parking at casinos. The bigger Sherpa blanket will wrap around better for winter nights.
Bro you’re a blessings. I’m a truck driver and live in my semi and sometimes I feel bad about it because of what society says stability is thank you bro for the videos it gives me encouragement I’m a new subscriber by the way!!
I lived in my van for nine months and I really worked on my mindset relative to what society has to say about other people’s lives. I’ve concluded that no one in our society is in a position to judge anyone else. Not one of us is perfect, or lives a perfect life. If we each committed to tend to our own affairs, we have more that a full time undertaking. You do you😊 and let others do themselves.
@@gavinsnanathank you sooooooo much for sharing this with me and for these beautiful words of encouragement like I literally appreciate it!!! I needed it so much!!
Louise Penny - love her books - while home is west of Toronto love discovering parts of rural Quebec / Quebec City am not familiar with - Louise’s take on whodunit very Canadian - give it another try maybe while enjoying a Tim Horton’s coffee 🇨🇦🙏
I am not full time, but I travel a couple of times a year for 2 or 3 months each time. I am in a Pontiac Vibe with a small dog as my travel companion! Much smaller than your set up, but it works for me. I got some good ideas from your video to make my system work a little better. Thank you!
You are so resilient, you've got this. Things will improve for you, I just know it. Steve Harvey used to live in his car, and look at him now. Staying sober one day at a time. Take care xx
I’m thinking of car living. I’ve been doing research and it seems everything I find was Van living. I own a 2016 outback and was trying to figure out how I could actually live and work out of it without buying a van. Thank you so much for this tour. You provided me with some inside full no need to get rid of my seats ideas. Great video.
It's really simple. start with the basic, be minimalist as much as possible, save all your cash and figure out as you go. there are a lot of car living in here in youtube. a lot of these van lifers mostly started as car living so watch their old videos.
My son has a TMNT collection too. He has more space so his collection is a little bigger than yours but it’s still nice to see your passion. I love your set up. It’s always a reminder that we need so little in life. I have converted my Grand Caravan and I can’t wait to be on the road!! May the Lord our God keep you safe wherever you are. 🙏🏻🕊️❤️
I will be living in a van I just was able to purchase at a cheap price. Needs lots of work, but it's a place to live since I'm homeless, since i lost my home because of the shutdown, , with multiple disabling conditions. No money, time, nor health to do a build. I love these no build videos
You are very organized. I'm sure that helps in making your days and nights go smoothly. It's very impressive and a great motivation for me to set some goals to be more organized in my daily life. God Bless!
Thank you for taking the time to show us your set up. It's really cool! Another idea is to get a small esky to put your milk, cheese etc in. You could store that behind the drivers seat. God bless
Bren, I love this video!! Thank you so much for your videos and great ideas!! I been following some of your suggestions and they have been working very well! You and Jake McCollum have been one of my inspirations and courage to follow this lifestyle for the last 11 months!!! I love your videos!!! God bless you and Jake McCollum!! Thank you thank you!!
New to your channel and just subbed. Looks like a solid setup to me. And after tons of videos like this for years, you still managed to give me a few ideas.
Wow, very cool! This is my first time on your channel ☺️ I love how organized you are and how well you make use of every nook and cranny. Everything has its place 😀 Thanks for the grand tour :)
I just subscribed. I've watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them. I'm a cargo van expeditor living in my van most days. I've got a trade off between the weight of my stuff and the weight of potential cargo I can haul.
Super loved this video! I reckon you could do some how to videos: How to solve the toilet issue How to stay clean How to stay warm How to stay safe How to keep mentally healthy How to keep fit living in your car How to solve the no fridge issues Maybe also another video of how to see living in a car more positively (for those who didn't want to or were forced into it) and maybe even ways of connecting with other car lifers. What I'd love to see is some collab with other car lifers like you, Bren who sort of had to live in their car to get ahead on debt etc). Maybe like a "Chillin' with Bren" video where you just get to know these people and kind of film it as "fly on the wall" style. Glad you're doing well, my man!❤🐢🐢🐢🐢
Loving the video. I never charged the jackery with the car before I started to watch you a few months ago. Thank you ❤️. Great video you have everything you need.
I plan on doing this in my outback as soon as it is paid off. I tow a teardrop camper with my outback for camping close to home but if I go for a long distance camping trip I have a 8 by 8 foot tent that hooks over the back of my car and it adds a lot of room on it.
Arenges. 🍊 😍 I haven't heard it pronounced that way since moving away from NJ in 1985. Have been between CO, MO, and KS (back to CO) since then and it's definitely a full on o in orange out here. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Love seeing other Subaru Outback car camping setups! I've probably done so many different setups before finally settling on the one I have now. I took out my passenger seat and it was a game changer. 👍
Much better to wrap the reflectix with black felt (lessens glare) it's also less seen when the window covers are directly against the windows snuggly. The felt can also make them more snug fitting and stay in place. Can always add small magnets as well that terms to hook well to the steel of the door frame. I made my relectixs so well people just thought it was heavy tinting 😅 I also did some with matt black spray paint but i find after awhile it'll start to chip and scratch on the reflectix. Magnets and black felt can easily be found cheaply even at the dollar store as well
Put a thermostat in for the transmission cooler. You'll get better warm-ups especially in the winter. My wife and I have both experienced this on her Outback (identical to yours), and my 22 Forester Wilderness.
Hey Bren, Great video!! May I ask how tall you are? I'm 6'2" and trying to figure out the right vehicle that accommodates my size, can do light offroading, and is decent on gas. The Outback seems to check my last two boxes for sure.
Super organised and well thought out, Bren! Super tidy - totally impressive! My nephew is also called Bren. I looked for info on some of your excellent gadgets, but didn't find any - a pity cos you have some great ones. (You dont doan Amazon shopfront?). Very best regards. G Ire
I have the same car. Love it! How do you sleep flat? How do you keep safe and comfortable at night? Where do you park so that nobody knocks on the window. I have noticed that daytime car camping and nighttime car camping are very different.
New subscriber here, I really enjoyed this video as we own a 2020 Subaru Forester. It has a little more room and ceiling height. You did a great job of setting up your car for living and working. You make a decent buck and work on your own schedule, that’s neat
