Hey does anyone know if I should go visit the hygienist before I get my braces or do they do a deep clean and get rid of all tar, plaque etc on the day? I don’t have it badly, but I like things done properly.
I was actually a bit nervous to get my braces on because I thought there would be a lot of pain. But Dr.Greg was extremely gentle when putting my braces on. I am now actually excited for my next appointment to get my bottom braces!!
Im getting mine off in 2 days and I just want to say, to everyone who’s getting them soon, please take care of them and make sure not to break brackets. That will expand the treatment longer than needed and make sure to brush well. Brush in circles with medium pressure.
I got my braces the other day, and it was way less scary than you think. In my orthodontist they had this relaxing music on, and they didn't even use the suction thing. They just had a cotton thing to hold my tongue back. When they weren't doing too much to my mouth it was actually kinda relaxing! But it feels so dang weird when u feel ur teeth for the first time. For those getting theirs soon, don't be scared, nothing they do to u is is painful, and it doesn't take as long as u think it does.
Hey, have a few questions as im getting mine at the beginning of March: -Is there any after effects of the pressure on your teeth when getting them on? -any foods i should avoid for the first day?
@@user-up9ki5dx6c it honestly wasn’t too bad for the first few hours but about 8-9 hrs in I felt a teeny bit of pain and by the 2 day I wanted to kill myself this is no joke
I’m on month 3 of a 24 month treatment. I had the same problem as her and I get my bottom braces put on Dec 30th. If I have questions I usually refer to your videos before going to my own Orthodontist 😂 lmao.
Woww that’s amazing I did a consultation didn’t hear nun much other than I need an xtra costing a lot an den payment plans an den braces all these unnecessary steps an all I hv is an overbite am slight crowding to the buttom😩
I have the same treatment as her, I got my top braces yesterday and my bottom will be in a few months. :) edit: im hurting like crazy!! edit: I got my bottom braces last week!
@@ditsydaisys to be honest, my top braces was a lot worse than my bottom braces you’ll definitely need some painkiller to help you. I got my braces in the afternoon but the pain didn’t kick in until around the middle of the night and it lasted for a week. overall pain 10 being the worse : Top Braces : 9/10 Bottom : 5.5/10

Yes. Your ortho will clean your teeth before putting the braces on because the teeth need to be clean and dry because the glue for the brackets needs a smooth, dry, clean tooth to sit on so they stay on the tooth and font break off as easily

My braces got cancelled as I was very nervous so they advised me to watch some videos. I feel more comfortable now but, how do you keep your tounge back so that you can't touch your teeth even with the equipment on. Also how do you swallow your saliva in that awkward position. Thanks

howd it go??? im in the exact same situation. i have bad overcrowding on both top and bottom and they need to pull 2 teeth on each set to make room before getting braces and im nervous as HECK
@@ditsydaisys no reason to be nervous! i was so scared and really, it was nothing. i was already eating normal foods the day of my surgery, i had no issues with healing, and i’m 7 months into my braces! it’s worth it.
i was extremely anxious to get my braces on and still am to some degree. i have a huge history of anxiety and these little things can really freak me out. but i think this video is really helping me. it’s super nice
Sore mouth hard to eat for the first few days and when you get new bands. Other than that you get used to them and eventually you barely notice them. And yes a waterpik
How do you know where on the teeth to put on the braces? I never understood that. I also got braces 6 days ago and never got the elastics. Any reason as to why?
elastics are usually for people who have an overbite or an underbite. everyone’s jaw and mouth is different. my friend said that elastics hurt a lot so i guess it’s not a bad thing.
I'm watching this because i am getting just top teeth braces due to my overbite which is causing me pain. I didn't really want them but now I've seen how they are put on I am not as worried. Thank you 💕💗

Okay so question. My orthodontist is giving me the option of having an expander and braces at the same time or expander first and then braces after. Which do you recommend?
Expander first then braces. I have both right now but it's not the most pleasant if you want it done fast you should get both on but for comfort and eating I'd say get one at a time

My kid’s dentist said that she was going to apply braces on top then a month later at the bottom. Does that make sense? When I got my braces years ago, I got top and bottom at the same time.
Great video.i had braces put on this week. My Orthodontist explained everything beforehand but i was still curious to see how it was all done. I had invisalign about 7 years ago with my general dentist but he didn't do it properly so i was left with bad contouring and food packing, he also missed pathology but luckily my Orthodontist picked it up. Really don't think general dentists should be doing braces, their knowledge just isn't the same as an Orthodontist, wish i knew this years ago.
@@pippybub1486 it’s good 😊 when I first got them it didn’t really bother me until hours later I had to get used to them I felt like my lips were sticking out really far 😂😂😂 but a week or so later I was back to eating what I would regularly eat
