I ordered & received the self-watering canning jar lid wi/clay pebbles and seeds put together by Mike. It was very nicely packaged! I assembled & planted some lettuce about 2 days ago. I can already see some little sprouts starting! Thanks for the great ideas and experiments. Mike, I have learned so much from your work on this channel. I check every day for new videos and often review older ones to expand my knowledge. Loving it all for more than 1 year now. 😄 👍

This is cool Mike I’ve been playing with this idea myself for keeping on top of seedling trays. Can’t perfect the design. I want the bottles out of the light and I don’t want to paint/coat each bottle. Would be good to have a way for people to buy the file. So they can print their own as well, but it’s good you’re providing people with an actual physical version. Better than I Ahahah Real cool stuff.

Awesome! If I start the micro greens in a dark spot while waiting for them to germinate, do I still have to cover with foil? I started watching you last year and today I was finally able to harvest some of my pokchoy seeds from some of the plants I let bolt. The bees loved the flowers and I thought they were pretty.

Thanks, I love letting the pak choi flower! Yes, keep them covered to keep them damp. Without soil, they may dry out. If they look dry, spritz them with a spray bottle.

I’d just use water it think, and save the nutrients for the shoe box sized crops. I don’t mind using coir for my microgreens, but I made the water lids for water bottles and wondered what is the largest crop you’ve tried with them? I guess the bigger the crop, the larger the reservoir?

Hey Mike great videos. I have a mosquito problem in the summer, can I use this system outdoors ? Also can this be used in direct sunlight? Your growing area in the video looks very shaded. Let me know, I’d like to give this technique a try. Then I want to teach others.

Sometimes. It depends on the plant and how far along it is. I harvest the outer leaves up until it starts to bolt.

You only grow these 7 to 14 days, it does not really matter unless it bothers you.

Hey Mike, still love learning from you. Have you ever tried coarse sand as a grow media? I've been experimenting with it and having great success. I think it's faster to clean than leca Pebbles.
