God, certs piss me off. There is so much information that I feel is missing from them to prepare for an IT role. I passed the trifecta from Comptia and as I went on to more advanced education, all I could ask was "Where the hell was this on those expensive-ass exams??"

@@CT-yc4gd Can you elaborate on this more? Examples of information that would have been useful on the trifecta certs? I'm working on my Net+ right now lol

I've had the same experience a couple of years ago. At the time I was really bumped out but in the end I've landed a job which was much better and with a higher pay. Like you said, everything will work out eventually. Good attitude ! Thanks for sharing.

You have a great attitude the way you are seeing this as a learning experience rather than being angry at the employer. I suffer from depression and I'm currently working on shifting my attitude to be more positive and less angry and self pitying. It's really challenging sometimes but it really makes a difference in how I feel and also I think how people perceive me, which then tends to positively affect interactions and life outcomes.

I was in your same situation. I got hired to work for a bank rand it was a very small branch office. 4 employees total including myself. Got let go 5 months later for not learning enough but the fact of the matter is no one really wanted to teach me as 2 of the employees there were set to retire in a few years. It can be hard but your gonna find something better. For me, it encouraged me to go back to school 🎉

@@NickelCityPixels it’s like any other customer service agency. Some people think they are ‘Kim Jong Un’ and expect a rolled out red carpet. Sometimes we as workers make an honest mistake that allows for a valid complaint that we learn from. Aside from that I feel that companies in general expect too much from employees as they keep raising the standard of expectations.

this is exactly how I felt with my last job. I've had a lot of interpersonal problems and communications with the supervisors was pretty bad aside from one person. I also felt like it was a tad to fast paced and my background did not match with the job I was performing but was willing to learn anything. I got fired 7 months in for other reasons but my plan was to begin job hunting at the one year mark anyway if things didn't get better. Ultimately I'm glad for the experience I gained and it lead to me studying for my Sec +.

Being truthful in the interview is the number one thing to do. The truth is when any one from a company says there OJT or training there is not. It a great lie. It sucky they let you go but if you felt it was not a match your better off. I hope you find another job soon.

Thanks for this video. I got fired from my job a week ago in the public sector job in public works. I was never reprimanded or written up. I was on probation but my wife and I are expecting and I put in my PTO for around when she’s due and a couple days later manager meets me after lunch to tell me “it didn’t work out, clear your locker and your keys please”. I on the other hand don’t have a second job but we collect unemployment and then PFL benefits shortly. I’m taking an IT support program that gives you a CompATIA A+ voucher at the end (self paced) and the Google Cybersecurity Profession Certification at the same time. You think that’s enough for just starting out? I’m humble enough and willing to work ANY IT job that I’m competent enough to do.
@vincenthumble
@vincenthumble 8 месяцев назад
Sorry to hear that! Yeah I think that is enough to start for sure. Especially, if like you said, you're not "too good" for any job. There's plenty of demand for help desk all over 🙂 you'll make it through. Keep your chin up and keep walking along.

I got fired from AWS. Wasnt my fault. I had a engineer tell me to move fibers(a lot) from one server to another. He pointed at the server location instead of giving me the rack# and RU and I even doubled checked it was "correct". He said it was. I removed all the cabling to find I caused a major outage on several services. I explained to my boss it wasnt my fault and I should of had paper documents with locations but because I was new he let me go.
