If you have a muskie following your lure, but not striking, what's your plan? Great tips here from Pete on what to do with Glider style baits and other baits in general if you have a fish that just won't commit.
Great video, I appreciate the tips. I was just talking with my dad a couple days ago about what do i do when a musky follows my glider? This is some great advice, I will certainly try just killing it.
And sometimes nothing works lol had 8 follows today on gliders and literally done a lil bit of everything you mentioned and no takers, at one point I just had my bait sitting there and the fish rubbed up against it and still nothing lol
Awesome video! I have followers and figure eight several times. I then see the fish return back where it came from. I then pick up my other rod with large rubber minnow on it and I have her hit that pretty quick. Is that something I should stay with? I don’t see other anglers doing this.
Hey Pete, I happened to notice the reel in the video around the 0:40 mark looks awfully like a 13 Fishing Concept A3. Is that what it is? I'm looking into that reel for musky fishing.
I think there is some preference on rod length but most all would agree you want a stiff rod with fast action. I like an XH fast action. Get a straight wire leader also, preferably without a swivel on it. Easiest glide bait to learn on is a Hellhound in my opinion. Hellhound is easy enough to find also. After you get used to working the rod and reel for create the movement try a Phantom, still pretty easy but more erratic. The lure he has is on my list to get this summer. But if I started with it I may have been too frustrated to keep it up. Good luck
