+Les L Yes on all jerkbaits and glide baits I use straight wire. Either a Stealth Tackle ST174 or ST174 9”. I will use fluorocarbon for bucktails and rubber baits yet. I have considered 49 or 7 strand flexible leaders for those baits also. I hope that helps
+DannyDare134 I typically would use them for cold fronts or when I want a slower presentation during the fall. With that said I thought I had prime conditions for bucktail action a few times this season and when that didn't work I went slower to a Suick or Bobbie Bait and that got eaten. If you have 2 anglers in the boat it pays to offer 2 different presentations. Good luck fishing.
+Patrick Fahie It’s mostly about the size and the target species. If I accidentally catch a nice pike I’m happy with them. They are still a great fish. Smaller pike are pretty common and because of that generate little excitement.
Our little pa lake has a few tiger Muskie up to 51” but also has pickerel. Guess that’s kind of the same feeling, pickerel much smaller but better than nothing.
