Getting Kicked Out By Security | Cosplay Storytime | AnyaPanda 

So this happened at Sakura-Con last year and on the second day of the con my two friends cosplayed Resident Evil cops one of my friends was Leon ( Resident Evil 2 remake version ) and my other friend was just a Raccoon City Cop. So we were walking around the convention and we were walking towards the two escalators near the main stage to go upstairs and one of the security guards that stand by the doors to check badges came up to my friend who was cosplaying Leon at first she thought she was in trouble but then the security guard started telling her that there was this guy that needed to be escorted out of the building and the guards needed back up. My friend was very confused and told them she wasn’t an actual security guard she was a cosplayer and attendee the security guard was definitely embarrassed and apologized then let us through to the next room. This happened more than once through out the day some people mistakenly thought that my friends were actual security guards it was very funny and we all had a good laugh about it.

Always enjoy these stories - only awkward time Ive had with a SG at a con was in the early days of MCM - there weren't many places to just sit and chill in the con back then (around 2012) so you kind of just sat where you could as long as it was out of the way. The guards though kept on telling everyone to move, which did get irritating after a bit especially when your getting tired.

i was at a meetup and me and a few people went into a churh and we found out there was A FUNERAL going on. we got out SO FAST lmao

i had a couple funny ones, both related to fallout cosplays, actually. the first was at a local cosplay picnic event. it was just in a park, cosplayers meet up to take photos, hang out, have lunch, etc. i was wearing my NCR ranger gear which had a trenchcoat, body armor, and a gas mask/helmet. i also had a prop revolver and rifle. i'm hanging out, posing for photos, no big deal, when all of a sudden, a cop car drives directly into the middle of the park. a lot of the other folks completely scatter because honestly, a fair few people were smoking and it wasn't yet legal. cops apparently got a report of someone walking around the downtown area wearing openly carrying firearms and tactical gear. i showed him all my very fake guns with orange tips, and that my "body armor" was just EVA foam, and he completely laughed it off and drove away. but by then the picnic was kinda ruined lol. second one was dressed as my player character from fallout 76, wearing the responders uniform; a blue jumpsuit with a logo on the back and the red cross patches on the shoulders. while we were out at lunch, an off-duty paramedic approached me and asked if i was an actual doctor/first responder. i said no, it was just a costume. he then explained to me that using real medical symbols like the red cross, Caduceus, etc on costumes is...technically illegal, as it's classified as impersonation, and can cause confusion in an emergency situation. they said the responder symbol on the jumpsuit was okay because it didn't use any existing, real world images, but he told me i should remove the red cross patches from the shoulders. when i fixed up the costume later i replaced them with the lightspeed rescue emblem from power rangers lol.

in art class, back in high school, we had to recreate a scene from a movie so my friend and I chose Nosferatu (1922), the scene the main boi Jonathan arrives at the castle, gets picked up, and where Nosferatu does his funny walk towards the camera. there's a small castle nearby so I emailed them and asked if we can film our school project there. I'm just too paranoid so I rather ask first haha the day we went to film our scenes inside the castle, there was of course some gathering of some ppl, mostly older guys, and they were all drinking wine or whatever. luckily they went inside after that but some of them clearly had several glasses to drink before. my friend and I, dressed as pale goth Nosferatu and steampunk Jonathan, got asked some questions about us being there like besties I have a written permission so pls leave 😆 the costumes were btw 100% improvised and I changed the footage to black and white so colours didn't matter lol

Omg, we were at this sci-fi expo in my downtown area, and we found this amazing Scooby doo car! Me and my dad wanted to get photos so we walk up to the car, and took some shoots (I was in a Velma cosplay so it was perfect) and I accidentally walk right into this man doing a magic show next to the car. Like I actually walked right in front and bumped into him. One of his “security guards” (they weren’t official slaw enforcers) grabbed me and rudely pulled me away, then proceeded to scream at me. The magician that I bumped into saw this and after he finished he bought me lemonade and apologized for the other guys behavior. (All while my dad was getting boiled peanuts, thanks for your help dad :’) )

OK SO. Back in 2021 I went to my first convention ever at Denver Fan Expo and I had an amazing time. There is a train station right outside the convention center and I was going to the train station to meet my mom so we could take the train back home together. But I was waiting outside for my mom and there was still like 10mins until she would be there and I had to go to the bathroom really bad. Also there is two sides to the convention center and I was waiting at the front and the con was happening at the back, so I went into the front of the building to ask if there were and restrooms near. And the people there asked me "Do you permitted access to this part of the building?" And I was very confused so I ask again "No, but no you have any restrooms near?" And they got really angry at me saying "You can't be here, you have to leave!" and I understand it was probably for safety measures but they could have been nicer. I the end I walk all the way around to the Back of the building went as fast as I could (because my mom was here at this point) and ran all the way back around to the front to meet my mom.

Oh I totally get your rant on how it's always the comic version, not the MCU version of Pepper. I'm a Hawkeye (Clint) fan and the MCU murdered his whole character and boiled him down to some guy with a bow. It's a rant I find myself going off on quite a bit when someone asks me why my favorite Avenger is Clint. (because they always think comic Clint is the same as MCU and NOPE! Leave my precious little circus dumpster fire boy alone! He's amazing and lovable.) Anyway. I have a security guard story of my own. I was cosplaying Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi at Youmacon, and was leaving the food court to go meet up with my Star Wars group. There were some kids who saw me (I wanna say they were like 3 and 4, maybe 5?) and they got excited asking if I was a Jedi like Rey. I said yes and talked to them a little about Jedi and let them hold my lightsaber and turn it on. Always have time to let little kids get excited over a cosplay I do

So very recently I had a photoshoot of my Zack cosplay (FFVII), with one friend as photographer and one friend as assistant. For our snack break we decided to do an impromptu picnic, and the nearest place we could think of was a frisbee golf course. We set up and had a nice time, but when we were nearly ready to go, two people dressed in "hospital clothes" came toward us and asked us to leave. Apparently, the patch of grass we were on was the property of the hospital, right next to the frisbee golf 🙈 They were really nice about it though, and we weren't 100% sure we were allowed there anyway, so no hard feelings, we packed up and left to finish the photoshoot ✌ Glad my friends were there bcs I would've died from shame if I'd been the only one there 🙈
