i don't think i'll be watching anymore - I watched at least 5 ads.... well skipped mostly. i watched a couple as i do with most channels. but 5+? when there is a paid promotion, so there is already income going to the channel. nope. plenty of other good channels out there that get by just fine w/1 or 2 ads.
@@Witty..UserName it's worth it if it will keep the content creator putting time/effort into his/her craft in my opinion.... if you watch them all the way through it really helps out the person you're watching and i really recommend doing so for these creators
I came across this video by chance, RU-vid recommended it I’m so glad I did. I love the combination of wood and resin especially in furniture, as an Architect I can say this I the best table DIY built I ever seen. Its elegant, simple, sophisticated and the same time it has an industrial feel. I'll definitely buy that table if it’s for sale. Great job bro! wish you all the best and keep safe…
Love it, next time when you pour epoxy after 20 mins come back and look to see if you have bubbles if you do use a heat gun, small torch or blow dryer if u choose to use torch only torch for 2 or 3 seconds bubbles will pop the heat pops bubbles for the next 3 hours you need to keep checking for bubbles.
This shows very well, that if you throw enough money at woodworking machines... everyone can do it! Not to forget the workshop that look so pristine, I wonder no one lives in there.
Try pushing forward with your MIG welder. Drag a Stick Welder, Push a Mig. Also try and drill your feet before welding, easier in a vice or drill press. Love your stuff. Am a metalworker trying to get into woodwork as a hobby and enjoy seeing things like this for motivation/inspiration.
Great tip! Ive been trying to do that more recently, its a bit counter intuitive for me so I don't always remember. But about 75% of the welding I did on my latest video was pushing the tip of t mig welder haha
Love the style of this versus the quite common river tables made with slabs. I'm going to heavily steal your idea and make an L shaped desktop in this style, with black Epoxy. I wanted something modern and not organic looking so this looks perfect. I have nowhere near the same amount of tools or experience though, so hopefully it'll come out good.
Man, I totally love you videos, great looking table, love the honesty and the “what I’d do differently” moments. Great work keep it up :) so happy to see your channel growing
Nice work sir, you got my sub now. One particular thing i noted and appreciated is your disclosure of errors and how to correct or avoid them. Thank you for taking the time to record, edit and post this project. Now to check out more of your channel 👍
Great looking table, and I reall appreciate th esteo by step explanation. My only suggestoin would be to vary the wood layout, mix the oak and the walnut to give more color contrast. Great channel!
That drum sander probably paid for itself on this one project. I have watched too many epoxy videos and sanding is usually the most time consuming step of any epoxy project.
I dont know how anyone does epoxy builds without a drum sander haha. It was a bit of a pricey tool purchase, but Ive gotten so much value out of it, I dont regret it at all.
Thank you! And yes it really is. Given the type of work I like to do with all little pieces glued together is saved me so many hours. It was a bit of investment, but id do it again in a heart beat!
Your channel is the only one that I hit the like button before I even watch the video! I am NEVER disappointed and have never taken my “like” back! Keep up the great work! Always anxious to see the next video. Keep safe!
When I first had the idea last year that I wanted to start doping woodworking projects, my imagination stopped at cutting boards and stuff because I will be working mainly out of my garage. But then I saw this video, and had a whole SLEW of new ideas....like take the pixelated coffee table, and amp it up it! Do two or even THREE layers of pixelated wood stacked on top of each other at different lengths, and THEN do the pour!
Just discovered your channel. The table turned out fantastically. Recently done a project with a honeycomb pattern in the table using a router filled the voids with crushed glass then epoxy... it was an education to say the least and no where near as slick as yours looks👏🏼👏🏼
Who was waiting for the seconds hand on the clock to hit his hand and then hated him a little when the seconds hand of the clock stopped moving. And that's on anxiety...
@@ZacBuilds You should have heard my Brockton MA accent when I was young. Located 30 minutes south of Boston. Just watch the movie The Departed with Matt Damon and Leo Decaprio. Only we would have pronounced it the depahted.
Thanks so much man! Really happy to have your support! Hopefully as more people like you find the channel it will grow. BTW, I'm curious as to how you found it? Always helpful for me to know so I know where to focus my efforts!
@Zac Builds sorry for the long comment. Im a welder by trade. Since Im learning from your video I will share some m.i.g. welding tips. 15:02 At this time stamp you can see what is called perocity. We call them caterpillar welds. This is a contaminated weld. Since this is a table its not as critical. I welded RV chassis so thats a big no no. Its not how thick the bead is but more about weld penetration. The bead or puddle should ALWAYS be pushed away from you and not pulled towards you. You will lose your gas and puddle control. As for putting a "wave" in the bead by moving back and forth, well it looks pretty but a straight push will get the job done. If your gonna paint the legs nobody will see the weld. If welds are left "raw" and you want them to stand out pretty them up. Some ways are small circle motions, U shaped motions, what is called stacking dimes where you make dime sized tack welds move an 1/8" and repeat (more of a stick/tig looking weld) or my perfered method, back and forth. I weld forward 1/4 inch then move back (by twisting my wrist) 1/8 inch and continue. If done right looks like a smooth wave pattern. The bubble /perocity means 1 of 2 main things. If you're using rosin core wire which doesnt need argon gas, your steel is dirty. Most likely oil or corroded. Even if you cant see the corrosion its there. The moment you heat the metal. Thats what causes most weld smoke. 2 You lost your gas. A slight breeze can blow the gas away from the weld and cause this. If you use argon and your nozzle is to far from the weld that will do it too. (Dirty or clogged diffuser as well) That kind of weld should be cut out or gound completely and redone. Since its a table and no lives hang in the balance no real biggy. A "pin hole" in one of my weld would cost me $50 off my bonus. Per pin hole! Repair bay would fix it and ding our bonus pool. My source of knowledge: welder for Lippert Components. Largest RV chassis supplier. Over 5 yrs experience welding steel and aluminum
I fell in love with epoxy the first video I ever saw. What I'm waiting for is the first video that deals with my fear of the PRICE of the stuff!. At $90 per gallon its not something that I cold afford to create without major loans
You actually sprayed it right. Start with thin coats and get thicker. It will have a noticable texture on thinner coats, finish with a thicker coat to make her nice and smooth :)
I just saw this video and I loved it so much 😍 and now I wish that table should be in my house aswell. You have given so much time and effort for making that masterpiece 🙌. I will be tuned for more future videos and can u please show a closeup of that product u make. And also make it a more satisfying one. At last keep it up. U got my support💪.
I have been watching your videos over the past few days and am really enjoying them. I also noticed that your channel is gaining subscribers like crazy! Good for you!
Thank you for the video! The entire thing! I am going to be attempting my own very first epoxy resin table and I am trying to make sure I get it right. Much appreciated on all the info!!!
I definitely subscribed and liked your work. Just one thing about You Tube algorithm that if users subscribe your channel and then don’t watch your videos when it appears on their suggestions list, this will have a negative impact on the algorithm that you are try to build with RU-vid to Mark your channel as not worthy to watch. That’s not going to be the case with your work, I absolutely loved it and I will keep watching.
My pleasure Ben! Thanks for watching. I've got a smaller epoxy build coming out in the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for that. I'll try and cram some more tips into it
@@ZacBuilds Where did you get the Sonite Wax? I've tried looking online at home centers and Amazon, but no luck. Is there an alternative you think would work?
I would put a line of silicon caulk between the pieces of Melamine, before you screw them together. This is just an extra step to you can stop any leaks. Just my opinionated opinion! This design is awesome!
@@ZacBuilds Quick question bud: My epoxy calculation was way off (didn't take into account that epoxy will flow under the wood too) and I could only pour half. I'm waiting for my next batch to be delivered at the moment but this would be cured by then. Would it still work if I sand the top of epoxy and do the next pour? Thanks.
I wish you would have used a blow torch to pop those small bubbles. I would have like to see you use threaded inserts to attach the legs and feet at the bottom to protect your floor and to add grip even on carpet.
Thanks! And there's really no need to with the flowcast epoxy. Because it cures over the course of 3 days there's tons of time for the bubbles to work there way out on their own. Plus I over filled my mold and then sanded it flush, any bubbles resting in the top were sanded off.
Please, consider using a mask for fumes in liquid state and a dust mask for everything else, sawing, making confetti... or at least recommending it to the viewers. Epoxy is not a joke.
Thanks! So glad you liked it. I'm pretty new to making videos so I'm still playing around with the format and trying to make these videos as enjoyable as possible.
Jesus, this has to be the most under subbed channel your work is amazing and the video quality is just stunning. Giving a sub and letting all my friends know. Cheers man keep up the amazing work
Thanks Chris! Really appreciate it man. Starting a new channel isn't easy, until you get a critical mass of subscribers its really hard to get noticed on YT. I have faith that if I keep making quality videos good people like you will find them though. Thanks again man
Surprised I haven't found you sooner! Love your work and everything your doing! Great job bro, can't wait to get my shop finished so I can start making again! Got me inspired!
