I’m excited. Have been on the snake river, saw the breathtaking Tetons. Now I’ll experience it closer with you guys. Also been to Lake Tahoe, but experiencing it with you will be awesome. Take care. Be safe. Love hiking Colorado with you.
I hiked Hetch Hetchy, you will love it, there is a group that is trying to save Hetch Hetchy and turn it back into what it was before they damned the water. I don’t know if that’ll ever happen but that’s the goal.
I can't wait for the Hetch-Hetchy trip. I hiked through ther 50 or so years ago when I was a Boy Scout. It will be interesting to see how it's changed.
San Francisco gets its water from Hetch Hetchy. Supposedly it rivaled Yosemite Valley in beauty and grandeur before they dammed it. But sounds like it’s still beautiful. Enjoy!
Sounds like a very busy yet fantastic itinerary. I just heard about a 177 mile trail that goes around the Denver Metro area. It is called the Denver Orbital Trail. It has 27 sections and most will have parking. I'm still getting in shape so I'm going to do this one in around 2 months. You guys motivate me and YOU ROCK!!!❤
I have also been navigating the Yosemite permit system. I ended up getting a permit from Sierra national forest and am hiking into Yosemite via the JMT. I will eventually end up in Yosemite Valley also. Maybe our paths will cross! Good luck to you.
Sounds like amazing journeys ahead :) Some of my best adventures were those that we ended up inadvertently. Safe travels and thanks so much for taking us along !
I’m happy that you were able to get most of the permits. I can’t wait to follow along. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Take care and God bless you both!
Greetings from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state! Sorry you didn't get any permits in Washington. Bright Peaceful Blessings on your travels! 💜🪻💜🪻💜
So excited to see your upcoming adventures! My mom and I are leaving Missouri in July to roadtrip out to Washington to check out Olympic and North Cascades, you guys have been a major inspired for our trip. Happy trails!
John Muir loved the Hetch Hetchy valley and fought the damn tooth and nail. He felt damming that valley was a devastating loss. Sounds like you’ve got some great trips planned. I loved the John Muir Trail!
I was a ranger at Yosemite for two summers! (Dream job ❤) Omg, it’s beautiful. I’m familiar with all the places you mentioned! You were indeed gifted with Hetch Hetchy. You might like to read more about Muir’s relationship with that area.
Sorry you are dropping WA completely but I get as a Washingtonian our parks are too packed With people in the summer. Come back and see us in the Spring or Fall.
So many exciting adventures coming! We can't wait to see! We just had the pleasure of visiting several areas in AZ two weeks ago - we saw Sabino Canyon, Saguaro, Tuzigoot, Montezuma's Castle & Well, Walnut Canyon, Grand Canyon, Wupatki, Sunset Crater........just to name a few - we just LOVE LOVE LOVE that area!
What an amazing summer you have planned! If you plan to come to Pagosa during your time in Colorado, Jim and I would love to host you. We have full hook ups or the guest room. Can’t wait to hear about the AZ trail! I just got a permit for Havasupai- stoked!
Sounds awesome. Sounds like you will be in the Tahoe area in August, so my offer to be your trail angel should work out well. I return from my trip to Denmark August 2, so I’m available for the rest of August. I’ll try and message you directly with more info. So excited for your plans and upcoming adventures!
I live next to Yosemite and I still can’t get a permit there often. I’ve backpacked from Hetch Hetchy. It is HOT. No way to get a SOBO JMT permit. Prob better chance at the real lottery, so scored a NOBO permit for this summer. Soooo, excited/nervous. Training every day. Not a fan of how NPS has adopted the red.gov system.
Wonderful 2024 you have planned. Do you ever go out locally for an overnight or two day trip just to get outside?? Can’t wait for you adventure on the AZT
First.. I love following you guys. I must be watching out of order so forgive me if you answered this in another video..... I want to hike the Grand Canyon and camper somewhere in the canyon. I tried to get a permiit last year but was denied a permit. I had submitted for the permit by mail. I saw a video where you said you got the permit but could you let me know how? We live in Florida and I hate to just chance it but I'm thinking that if I show up in person then MAYBE I could get one in a day or two. What do yo think?
