It went well with a few stories to tell. Always something. Def the leg strength stuff I’ve done really helped on the steep climbs. Quite hot too l. The views were amazing 🤩 thanks for all your support!

Cheers. Race went well as no low points as took it easy. Fuelled well and hydration spot on. Have you been to the lakes? Bloody lovely. MF good stuff but didn’t like his new chia range taste wise but no cramps or sickness and it was hot. Highly recommend.

@@ultrarunneradam glad to hear it went very well but so many unknowns in an ultra you always expect some challenges to get over. It's was longer than 40 miles, No? I'll check out MF, any recommendations on flavours?

Thanks Dustin. Can’t wait to see the Lakes. Somewhere for my phone and possibly poles at back of belt. Also like to have quick access to gels. I find sometimes I have to search for stuff in my Salamon and lose a few bits round the back. Espesh when shattered. Keeping options open but if your still super organised after so many miles then hats to you 😀😀

@@ultrarunneradam That is a really good point, I am not overly organized, and the 12l, just has so much space. I was thinking about using my Flip belt with the 12L, Not to big on the Flip Belt over all, does not hold much, Gel, Phone, But I have a waist light for it.

Not very well after 500 miles - gonna do a review I think as went after 200 in the toe box crease area and split slightly away from sole. Still my fave shoe though 😁😁

I have the Mafate speed 2 and they have split in preaty much the same place on both sides of the shoe on both shoes where the mesh vents are. I was hoping the Matryx material was going to be more durable on the Evo's... you can't beat the grip on the sole though. The materail on the inside of the heel cup hasn't warn through either on my pair.

@@paulfaiers345 I had a great idea of running in my old evo mafate 800+ miles no issues with upper or wear - cushion now deadish / then my maf evo 2 and now my new speedgoats and get a feel comparison - good to see what a new shoe really feel like to an old pair

In the end I got persuaded to. I carried them in my naked belt most of the way and used them up 3 steep ascents. Hard to film and use poles 😂 glad I had them and quite comfortable to carry even if I didn’t use them.

@@ultrarunneradam thanks. i always use the same belt but when looking at BD distance-Z poles at the shop i just dont see how they can tuck in there without being very uncomfortable. i have a 50M event coming up that has 15k' of vert

@@agsmith001 I tucked mine through thr 2 loops - i use raidlight poles which fold into 3 parts. No issues on comfort but occassionally when brining my elbows back I clipped them. that sort of vert I would always have them out and never need tos tore them. CCC i never put them away. whats the event?
