Great video terry the new little fella seems quite happy in his new home thanks for supporting Dave with his charity and thanks for the great mention happy ponding and keep smiling
Thanks Darren, yes, he's settled in really well mate. He swims around with the other koi, like he's always been there, it's quite funny. Thanks again, and take care, Terry.
A pleasure to have a spring walk around your beautiful garden Terry. A wonderful time of year when everything comes to life. Pond is looking great as always. The new addition is a cracker - I look forward to seeing how it progresses. Happy ponding Buddy. Best wishes, Dave 😊
Hi Dave, and thanks mate, very much appreciated. I have no idea what I'm doing in the garden, but I'm actually growing things 🤣🤣and they haven't died yet😂😂 thanks again mate, and have a great season 👍👍take care, Terry.
Hi David, and thank you mate. He has settled in and is feeding, I think he's finding the other koi a bit intimidating at the moment, but he'll settle down. Not sure about 5 star, but they are very spoilt koi 😂😂thanks again and take care mate, Terry.
Hi Andy, and thank you. I know what you mean mate. I'm sick of these covers on the pond, I do keep thinking about taking them off 🙄🙄were nearly into April, so it could happen very soon 👍👍take care mate, Terry.
Great video Terry, thank you once again for the pond pump Information, regards your bottle brush plant I've lost mine this year due to the very cold few days we had so had to buy a new one, quite a few people have lost established shrubs this year. Take care and all the best for the new upcoming season.
Hi Andy, and thanks mate. It's weird though, the bottle brush bush survived it through the Beast From The East and what I thought were harder frosts than this year, plus it's a more mature bush now. I think it could have been the rapid temperature changes we've had that's done it this year, but as you may know, I'm not much of a gardener 😂😂thanks for the info though mate, take care, Terry.
Hi Kev, and thanks mate. Spring is here mate, lets just hope we get the weather to match 👍👍I know nothing about gardening mate, so anything that grows in my garden is a bonus 😂😂but I do love to see the new growth coming 👍👍thanks mate and take care, Terry.
Hi Phil, thanks mate, much appreciated. The new Asagi is lovely, just a little on the thin side, but I'll soon sort that out 😂😂. Sid the Shusui has put on a lot of size this winter. He's catching some of the others up 🤣🤣you have a great season mate, take care, Terry.
Hi Terry, just subbed, can’t believe your channel hasn’t popped up as recommended for me before now, being so established. 17.3 k 😱 Looks like a nice pond you have there. Crackin new koi to go in with the other lovely jumbo’s you have in there. 😊👍🏼 Look forward to seeing your pond during this season as the weather improves. ☀️
Hi Andy, thank you for the sub mate, and welcome to my channel. My koi are a bit like me, gettin old mate 😂😂we've been around a long while. I must admit the new little asagi, does look a bit lost in there I must admit. But thinking back, all my koi were that size when I got them. Hope you enjoy the channel. Thanks and take care mate, Terry.
Yes mate, I use to keep koi many years ago, but this is my first pond I built, when I decided to have koi again ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MZam6Zi9qtg.html&ab_channel=Wrighty you'll see them in there. I have raised one or two of them that's in my pond now from fry.
Nice update wrighty and ill be doing the 17 mile walk tomorrow from 8am . Thank you so much for the shoutout and wow a stunning koi. And if anyone wanted to the charity it is brain tumour research, and I've raised just over £700 I'm blown away with the amount of support of the koi community, especially gaz from gkp.
Hi Dave, and thanks, always appreciated. That's a great cause, and Wow! that's a fantastic sum to have raised mate. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow and you get plenty of sunshine 👍👍🤞thanks again and take care, Terry.
Good morning Carol, and thank you. The new koi is settling in fine, and eating like a horse 😂😂spring is about here, so have a great season Carol👍👍. Take care, Terry.
Hello Terry, I'm 1 ov ur followers I do admire wot u do, really enjoyed watching ur buy on gkp and will b nice to watch its progress, n nice to c nelly after winter hope fully she,ll have a better year with out the dropsy enjoy the season sir, cheers from Terry,
Hi Terry, and thank you. I do love my garden, but trouble is, I know nothing about gardening 😂😂so any flowers that appear, are a big bonus for me 🤣🤣The new koi came out and had some food this morning, so going well at the moment mate thank you. I did lose Nelly to dropsy mate, I think you mean Chunky (Kahaku), he had a spell of raised scales as well. But I got him back thank goodness. Nelly was the same size as Chunky. Spring is upon us, so hoping we get the weather as well 👍👍Take care mate, Terry
Good morning Lau, how's my favourite koi keeper? The asagi is settling in well, he's eating, but still a bit intimidated by the size of the others. He is a nice little koi, just a little on the thin side, but I'll soon sort that out, like I did with Sid 😂😂I Hope all's well with you 👍👍spring is here, so all the best for the new season, take care, Terry.
@@Wrighty 😍 yeah he will fill out really quickly with your care I am sure. All is well this end. Moved on a few fish and some little ones are coming to add colour to my pond. Exciting times. Collecting them end of next month. Take care
Thats Absolutely brilliant Wrighty that you received the new little guys, I look forward to watching its progress and growth mate, thanks ever so much for joining us on the live and also for the mention on your video greatly appreciated Wrighty
Hi Gaz and thanks mate. Yes, he's settled in well. He goes round the pond like he owns it, the other koi don't bother him. I will show in my videos how he gets on and grows. I enjoy joining the chat on your Thursday Night live shows, there good fun. Keep up the good work 👍👍 Have a great pond season mate, Terry
Hi Martyn, I hope your feeling much better mate. Were at the end of March, so hopefully the weather will pick up a bit now. You have a great season mate, take care, Terry.
Great update Terry love this time of year when all the flowers and trees are starting to bud and leaf 😊 Everything is looking good I do love your filter house especially your upflow system you made 👍 Looking forward to the summer now 😊😊
Hi Jamie, thanks mate, much appreciated 👍👍As you know, I know nothing about gardening, but I do love watching things grow, and it's a bonus for me to get flowers in my garden 🤣🤣🤣Bring on the summer, I'm ready 👍👍thanks again mate, take care, Terry.
Hi Terry, always great to watch your no nonsense or BS approach to pond/fish/garden keeping. Thanks for the many hours of gentle and practical enjoyment and advice you’ve given us over the years. Looking at building my own bakki showers but the prices for 8 x 4 polypropylene sheet is silly money. Do you know of a sensible price supplier? Many thanks. Paul.
Hi Paul, thank you for your kind comments mate, very much appreciated. I must admit, I haven't bought any PP sheet for quite a while now, but it was going up quite quickly when I bought mine for my shower. I found the cheapest at that time was Trent Plastics Ltd. I'll put the link below for you, but I would still have a check around for the price. www.trentplastics.co.uk/engineering-plastics/polypropylene-rod-sheet/polypropylene-sheet-grey I'm not sure how long this reply will be here mate, as RU-vid tend to remove comments that contain links as suspected SPAM. Hope this helps. Terry.
Cor blimey Terry, They aint half gone up in price these days. Last time I bought a full sheet a few years ago it was less than a hundred quid. World's gone bonkers mad! Thanks for the link.
Hi Dave, and thanks mate. It's hard to believe just how much Sid the (Shusui) has grown in just over a year. Like you say it will be interesting to follow the new one. Thanks again mate, and take care, Terry.
Thanks mate, much appreciated. The koi was a little bit thin, but a lot are when you buy them. I'll soon feed him up 🤣🤣thanks again mate and take care. Terry
Hi Keith, I'm well thank you. I hope all's well with you mate👍👍The new koi came out and had some food this morning, so looking good. You take care, and all the best for the new season, Terry.
Hi Cesca, and thank you. I did see the new koi feeding this morning 👍👍I dropped them some sinking pellets in and it came out to feed 👌👍so it's settling in well. He is a bit intimidated by the other koi at the minute, but like Sid did, he'll get use to them. Thanks mate and take care, Terry.
Hi Terry, cracking update and a lovely new fish 👍🏼 I had the same “tracking” problem with the screen on my filter. I whipped it off and scrubbed it with some white wine vinegar, then rinsed off afterwards. Worked a treat. Hope you’re well 👍🏼
Hi Alex, and thanks mate, always appreciated. I hope all's well with you. It's funny with the SS screen, you can scrub one side, and it still blocks on the other. I even give it a blast with the hose pipe, but that doesn't stop it blocking. Thanks mate and take care, Terry.
Hi Terry mate, coming out of March we should almost be out of the thick of it with the weather 🤞. Sid really has come on some you can tell straight away. I really love you filters & system you have shown us all over the years it really is fantastic what you have put together. I am planning a few mods n changes of my own this year. Nothing as high tec as yourself (The Master Engineer) but I do enjoy having a go at stuff myself. Looking forward to seeing the progress of the new addition this season & whatever else you get up to with the pond/system. As always Be Well Man & have a great season ahead....👍 Mark.
Morning Mark, I hope all's well with you mate. Yes 🤞fingers crossed we've had the worst of it now. Good to hear you've got some mods planed, I think working on and building your own filters and system, is really rewarding 👍👍I hope it goes well for you mate. It's hard to think that Sid was the same size as the new koi just over a year ago. I haven't bought any koi in years before Sid. Hope you have a great season mate 👍👍take care, Terry
@Wrighty Thanks mate, it's off to a good start I'm currently over in Lanzarote A Spring holiday break to fully charge me internal sola batteries so to speak, shake off the winter depression ☀️👊🙂. I'm also currently buying some new fish from my koi dealer who is currently over on the Yoshikigoi farm in Poland. Utsuri is on the shopping list this year & he's showing me some great examples. Good job the wife is here to keep me in check 😂
Wow! I can't think of anything better than laying in the sun and ordering koi 😂😂😂you have a great time, I'm really jealous though 😏😏 🤣🤣 Enjoy mate 👍👍take care, Terry.
Hi Ray, and thank you mate👍👍. You should always quarantine when possible mate. I don't have a tank anymore, and I didn't know I was going to buy him 😂😂In my defence, he has come from a reputable dealer, so I'm not too worried. Thanks again and take care mate, Terry.
Hi Mate, nice to hear from you again, you new addition looks like a nice fish will grow well in your pond :) getting my pond up and running again in 2 months time after 2 years out of the hobby cant wait hopefully no leaks this time :) takecare mate see you on next one!
Hi Kev, and thanks mate. I hope all's well with you 👍Good to hear your getting your pond back up and running again 👍👍👌hope it all goes well for you👍👍Spring is upon us, so a good time to start. Take care mate, Terry.
Blimey Mate you don’t get new fish very often. Lovely little Asagi there Bud. Nice support for DT. I always check your Shusui out as he’s the same colours as mine. He has put a bit of timber on. There were some harsh temps at times over winter Terry and I think a few of us got some parts of the garden hammered on the planting!! Nice update Terry and I look forward to seeing you out there in a T Shirt 🌞👍
Hi Paul, that's right mate 😆 Sid was the first koi I'd bought in over 10 years, and he was the same size then as the new koi is now (20cm). Hope you have a great season mate, and I hope we all get to wear a lot of T shirts 😆😆you take care, Terry.
Hi Terry, hope you don’t mind but I have a random question about Lillys. I read somewhere that no earth is required in the pot, I’ve always used some special pond earth in the past myself covered with stones and a plastic grid to keep the Koi out. What do you do Terry?
Hi Ray, I use to do the same as you mate, but instead of using hessian to line the pot (which the koi still suck the soil through) I used pond liner. I watched how they potted them in the US and they use solid pots, to pot theirs. I have always used soil, I've not tried anything else, as lily's are supposed to like a clayey soil. I've got to take mine out this year, as I've been a bit lazy, and not had them out for 3 years, so I bet they need some work. Hope this helps mate, Terry.
@@Wrighty Thanks for the info Tel. I just did mine today after 2yrs. I did a bit of research and found some info showing lillys being placed in the pot with pea shingle so I've given that a try, covered with a layer of large stones. I still use your idea of those spider web type plastic grids to protect the tops, great idea....works a treat. I'll let you know how they get on Tel. Thanks as always mate 👍
Thanks for the update Terry, nice little Koi you won, look forward to seeing him flourish along with the others. Have a great week, take care & happy ponding to you mate.👍
Hi Stef, and thanks mate, it's always appreciated. I will keep you all up to date on how he's doing as we go along. You take care and have a great season mate, happy ponding, Terry.
Hi Terry, can you tell me what you use for the poles on your heron net please and have you just drilled the slabs to sit it in or have you fitted sleeves. Thanks Gary ok
Hi Gary, I used 8mm stainless steel rod I got on eBay. I just drilled the slabs so the rod slots in them. I am going to cut them down slightly so their not quite so tall. It takes about 1 minute to take off and less than 2 minutes to put on. It is much better and less hassle than having a net over the pond. Hope this helps mate, Terry.
Thanks Terry that’s great. One other question please. Do you think a protein skimmer like yours but only 1 metre tube instead of 2 metre like yours would still work. Cheers Gary
how many grams of sodium thiosulfate do you use to make a 1 ltr solution , i have bought some but can't seem to find an answer to how many grams to make a ltr bottle ,
@@Wrighty many thanks for the info , i searched all over google , all i found was all very scientific ways of making it , gave me headache in the end , 😂😂😂
Thanks Vince, you did keep tellin me to buy it 🤣🤣🤣it has settled in well mate, and eating like a horse. It is a bit intimidated by the other koi, but that's expected. It'll make a nice koi once it gets a bit of size this summer👍👍. Thanks mate and take care, Terry.
