I wish that at least the pre-made townies had their own uniqe secrets. I wish that you could set up secrets for your own sims if you wanted to bother with it, and than you can downloud from the galery sims with pre-set secrets to put around the world and make it more lively. As it is now, Its feels so lazy and rushed

Right. But honestly, I'm not surprised after seeing how shallow many of Sims 4 features are from packs, like that Social Bunny thing from High School Years is a prime example.

@@lu_anelandlords in the west often see tenants as less than people and only profit. They will often kick people out of their homes in order to make more money by gaining a more reliable tenant, rendering people, couples, and families homeless overnight. They have all the right to do that legally. Not only that, but they deny people the ability to purchase a forever home when they buy multiple plots of land for their rentable property, just so they can rake in a profit with minimal effort. Thats why generally we dont like them. But being a landlord doesn't automatically mean ur evil either, of course.

​@lu_ane landlords in America have a bit of a reputation for jacking up rent, trying to live off rentals as their only income instead of passive income, not fixing things, fees, etc , it can get pretty bad.

When I first got Get to Work, I made a plant shop that sold cowplants because I wanted it to be like Little Shop of Horrors.

I wish it was also presonalized based on the relationship they have, for examlpe if they have a spouse they can have a secrest about being secretly disstisfyed with their partner/they are in love with someone else. Or maybe if they have a green bar with someone they can actually despise them secretly. Sims can have secret crushes about other random townies and not just about the grim reapper

You can bc if you harvest it you sometimes find things and often it´s nectar. I found the most expensive one once just by luck.

That's not true. The setting you're talking about has been there since the beginning of TS4 and changes the pie menu from having those recommendations in the first menu to how it was in all previous iterations of Sims where you'd just have the friendly, romantic, etc options. Idk how are why this rumor started but I'll be glad when it finally dies out.

It is a glitch. They're supposed to get paid every Wednesday I believe. It's dumb she doesn't acknowledge it too cuz she knows it's a glitch or that she just wasn't waiting long enough but the only place she admits that is in her almost two hour long video that I guarantee less people watched all of.

Then she also cut Stanley's landlord venture off the day before he would have gotten paid. Which suggests it's intentional. To what end, idk. But I don't think it's coincidence either.

There was just a hotfix patch that fixed some issues with the For Rent pack. I have only had the landlord not getting paid thing once before though. 🤞

they buy houses (which are far too expensive nowadays and in short supply) to make ppl pay them more than its worth for a basic necessity that they oftentimes do not even help with or improve which they are supposed to do. i would say its all over the world but its becoming more common in the usa bc the housing crisis here has gotten so much worse in the past few decades

Even renting is becoming prohibitively expensive and homelessness is rising quickly. A lot of people think that it's morally wrong that citizens of a country with a democracy and taxes and whatnot can't afford a basic need like shelter.

Not everyone can afford to buy a house, and not everyone wants to. Houses are expensive to maintain. I couldn't have afforded to buy a house (nor would I have wanted to) when I moved away to go to college.

It is a primary function of fiat currency to devalue over time, making the currency itself eventually worthless. As we are at the end of the US Dollar's (and several other currencies, lookin at you AUD, CAD, Yen, and Yuan) lifespan, it is devaluing rapidly. As currency becomes worthless, only hard assets retain intrinsic value. You will note that the stock market is a dumpster fire, making it an unattractive investment. The stock market is fiat as well, and will be fully devalued as investors continue to move money to hard assets. As foreign people and corporations can own real estate in the US and CA, foreign money will continue to pour in as currencies die. That will continue to drive real estate prices up. You might think those people are landlords, but they're not. They're letting buildings sit empty. This is why Democrats are currently destroying New York City. They are forcing policies that will cause average people to live in a crime ridden shithole because it will force-devalue the real estate and they can pick up the most expensive real estate on Earth for pennies on the dollar. They all know what's happening. Most of their families profited from previous World Reserve Currency cycles. If you knew the full extent of this, your head would explode. Blaming the regular people just trying to rent out their basement or a second house is a childish mischaracterization.

landlording is unethical, in that they're profiting off of a human right/need and they are largely responsible for the housing crisis by buying up properties and jacking up the prices to be barely affordable (or only affordable for people of a certain high level income) which artificially inflates the housing market and also contributes to gentrification by displacing the people who used to be able to afford the neighborhoods prior to all the property hoarding or "landgrabbing" so to speak. (literally one of the reasons why the Landgraab's are considered bad people in the Sims is the way they buy up everything and have been doing so for generations if you follow the lore, which is just reflective of the real world.)

In theory, nothing. In practice, a lot of landlords are very predatory. not fixing things, renting out units that are almost unlivable at insane prices, usually in cities, unfairly evicting people, abusing their power and key access against vulnerable people, esp. woman and queer people of color. And this is if your landlord is a single person who lives locally, a lot of the time giant companies will buy up many properties in all cash offers, which effectively locks out a lot of potential home buyers from having a chance in different housing markets, forcing them to rent.
