Good stuff. I generally agreed with most of this analysis, though I do think you're being a bit hard on the Slaughterpriest. I know +10p over a Ritualist is not ideal, but Blood Boil is another source of chip damage that stacks with all of your other sources, and like you said when describing the Skull Cannon, sometimes you just need to deal 2-3 wounds to something at range. Because the prayer lore is so strong, you want as many Priests as you can carry, and I think 1 Firebrand Bloodthirster, 1 Ritualist, 1 Bloodmaster, and 1 Slaughterpriest is a good lineup for that sort of thing. He's not an all-star, and his stock will trend down once foot Heroes can get shot again, but right now I would consider him a B.
I watched this hoping to learn something, but all I learned is that my own takes were right. If I wanted to be told what a genius I was, I'd just walk out the door and bask in the admiration of the general public.
I'd really love to hear your thoughts on Gitz since the new book, your video about the old book during the bounty hunter season helped me fall in love with the army and I'm also feeling like I have less fun with them now than I used to.
Dang you're on fire, 2 videos in 2 weeks?? keep em coming! Gotta say though I've also been feeling the same way about gitz as someone who's been playing them since the start of 2nd ed, can't quite put my finger on why but they feel less interesting to play? (not that that will stop me)
@Stuart "Irongutsman" McCowan if it's useful for someone it was worth the effort. It also gives me a chance to really go over the content a second time.
If you're going into Bloodlords, how many Bloodletters do you think is too many? 2x20? 1x30? A bunch of min-sized units? They are pricey, so I feel like going too ham on the horned lads is a trap.
Amazing video! However I am not sure I understand what you mean when you say "skullreapers have their own ASF" when you compare them to Bloodletters. The only applicable ASF I can find is from The Skullfiend Tribe ability, but that is not guaranteed. Is there another one I am missing or would you just go the Skullfiend direction if you play Skullreapers?
My 2 cents on the topic: I would rate Magore's Fiends lower. You take then because you can Blood Sacrifice the dog for 2 BT. And then you are left with 9 wounds for 120p which don't do any damage. They aren't bad but simply outclassed by other options. Reavers are better screens, cheaper and will generate BT just as well. Skullcrushers I would put into A-Tier. 90% of all Mortal lists I've seen run at least one unit of them. They are very durable and excellent for pinning the enemy. Both variants of Deathbringers are F Tier for me. They deal 0 Damage and offer nothing except for another GC and if I want those I would always take another Priest. Never worth bringing. If you have enough points left over to take them, you will always just take Garreks Reavers or an Invocation etc. Other than these small points I completely agree. Great video!
Great video. I don't think you can chain activate more than one unit with the strikes-first Bloodmaster though, because it works on a Bloodletter unit not a BLOODLETTER keyword unit..
Confused about the Bloodmaster interaction. You say you have multiple and ASF with the Halo bloodmaster, and the others are outside of 3, do you mean 3 away from the bloodmaster? Or 3 away from enemy models. How do they fight in that case?
Good question! It depends partially on how your TO has ruled it, but the AoS worlds team has faqd that any effect that makes a unit fight overrides the requirement for that unit to be within 3. Therefore with the bloodmaster you could activate one and chain activate the rest even if they are outside 3 inches of enemy units.
Great show Stuart. I'd love to hear more on skarbrand being goated for you. On paper to me he seems expensive for only doing around 17-20 damage. I get that he doesn't need synergy but seems like he would kill something and then just die? How do you like to use him because I would love to see him do well?
He can do that damage unsupported while any other unit in Khorne needs support to put out those numbers. Good to have in a army lacking board pressure outside of their castle.
