Getting Started! | Space Engineers: A Scavengers Life Episode 1  

So a few quick tips for rover build Settings for the wheels to make as stable as possible whilst still being moderately quick. Power = 30-50%. Speed = 120km/h. Strength = 10-15%. Breaks on rear wheels only. Steering on front wheels only. Height to max. If you move the H2O engine to the front of the cockpit and move the front wheels forward, remove both of your batteries and put a medium cargo attached to the O2/H2 gen and then a connector on the back of the cargo. Everything will be connected and easy to access. Batteries can go on the side of the rover attached to the O2/H2 gen as there are no conveyor ports their for the batteries to interfere with. On the underside of the rover along the central line, it is usually best to have a line of heavy armour blocks for structural reasons. If you ever bottom out, the heavy armour will take the brunt of the hit. also adds to the lowering of the centre of mass so it is harder to topple the rover. Just a few hints ive figured out over my time playing this game. Hope some of it helps.

you should wrap your head around the build planner, it'll make your life so much easier going forward when you start building ships! if your build planner is empty, and you're holding a block in your hand, MMB on a conveyor port/cargo container (like the back of the survival kit) will add that block to your build planner, and withdraw all available components to your inventory. shift+MMB when facing a port/container will queue up all the items in your build planner for production, and ctrl+shift+MMB will queue up 10x the amount - useful if you're building a lot of one thing, like conveyors or thrusters. finally, alt+MMB will deposit all available components into your conveyor network - a great way to clear your inventory quickly after building. it will automatically deposit ores/stone too, and they'll get sent straight to your refinery/survival kit to be made into ingots. really enjoyed the video! keep up the good work (:

Also I just discovered this game last night and have been looking for a good playthrough and I like the whole role play aspect of your ship being destroyed and you had to eject and survive from there. I love RU-vidrs who embrace the role play side of video games.

For optimal power production wind turbines need to be more than 8 blocks away from voxels (ground), this means they can even work underground given a large enough radius is cleared out

id just like to say that we breath in nitrogen mostly, the "air is only 10 or 20% oxygen, 80% nitrogen. nitrogen is also what chip bags are filled with. its a common gas and it keeps the chips Good.

NO all inventory blocks are there own you have to look at them all switch filter in top of split page on player side or ship/container sum may be hidden by way of terminal settings got to dig both in the ground and in the comp

Bones, Great video series! I'm REALLY new to the game and I've been watching Spitzie's Tutorials. I guess YT's algorithm thought I'd like your channel too and for once, it was right! LOL I can't wait to binge-watch the rest. PS. Just and FYI, (not nit-picking). The pronunciation of Gyro is the same "J" sound that's in Jim, not the "G" sound in Golf.

I tried this game. p***ed me off BADLY when my first vehicle started cartwheeling down hill and slowly blowing chunks off as it did. Took HOURS to get that done and less then 5 min. it was gone. Never even knew it had all the bases and stuff to see. I will try it out again. Maybe think of doing a "basics" video for the peoplez like me who want to know but have no clue?

Its not cheating to grind some of your landing pod and weld it back. That pod is your head start to bigger and better things

Just found your video. I'm not sure if you know that you can limit how fast you go in the wheel menu, i believe.

I play the same way but I always start on Pertam. It has a lost in the desert feel.

very late comment but automatic ore pickup is also a pretty good mod, i personally cant play without it

Funny thing about Gyros... it is pronounced Ji-Ro... unless you are saying gyroscopic in which case it is pronounced guy-Ro-skop-ik. So you half nailed it. Definitely like your vibe man. have fun growing and enjoying the SE community.

instead of fafing about in the menus just hit enter (for chat) and type '/gps' a space and what you want to save the GPS as saves time and can mark a location quickly on the fly, great for scouting ores etc.

Looks great, if you ever go for Multiplayer that would be amazing if you play with people from community.

there is a mod that colorizes the ores, you should get it.

There's definitely some serious nostalgia for me in watching newer(ish) folk pick up and figure out this game every now and then, even though I burned out on playing SE myself a couple of years ago after a few too many thousand hours invested (not helped by Keen's aggressive paywalling of their increasingly-minor and -infrequent patches/updates). Good effort, and I hope this playthrough goes well! Within this genre of games, if you've not yet tried it, you might also enjoy Empyrion - Galactic Survival. IMO it's the spiritual and mechanical successor to "classic" (pre-paywall) SE and-in many if not most respects-a direct upgrade to current SE; a lot of the core & veteran SE community (and modders) have migrated to it in recent years now that SE is well into its sunset. Empyrion is still being actively developed, too, and is clearly a personal labor of love and passion project for its creator - so there's every likelihood it will stay that way. Might be worth a peek if you haven't had one already. Keep up the hard work here! o7

Just ran across your channel. Interesting game your playing. However there are a few things that bother me. The fact that you say gyro wrong. Granted the same spelling has two different definitions. One you can eat and one that stabilizies a vehicle or an aircraft. That being said for the one you have the best way for me to explain it would be Gyro with an I sound. But the g sounds like a j Kinda like. Jiro The one you eat Gyro has a silent g and the y had E sound. Kinda like eero. What im hearing you say sounds like. Guyro which isnt right by no means Not sure if you can make sense at what I'm saying. But hopefully you get it.

i been trying to get back into empyrion Galactic survival , but it feels broken now. i cant seem to get anywhere. and its buggy and janky and im getting frustrated and im looking for something better thats in space. im looking at everything on steam now. I tried no mans Sky and already returned it . endlessly laser mining minerals is not my thing. can anyone tell me is this game better than those?
