Amazing video!!! congratulations on the great work!! I don't know anything about technology and I was able to carry out this update just by following your step by step!! Thank you so much for this!!!
Thank you. I installed the 64hd a few months ago but never updated the firmware because the instructions are gibberish. I’ve been waiting on a video for firmware updates ever since, but with the warning about the heat on higher resolutions I may just leave mine as is. The mod seems to work fine on the firmware it came with - which I believe was 1.8. Thanks again.
Honestly I would still do the update and just not use the additional resolutions because it did clean up the audio in some cases for me like wave race for example had a constant pop on the original firmware when using 240p
holy shit!!!! i had the same issues with 1080 ! So glad I saw this video!!! what a terrible product for updating firmware. I bought 3 of them in the pre-order and after installing the first one I decided to sell the others. My ultrahdmi mod worked perfect with no issues after install.
So after much gnashing of teath, i ended up using a Windows 7 virtual machine. I did have to change the batch file but after that it worked like a charm. This worked for me but may not be the best solution for everyone. By the way your video gave me all the info I needed thank you very much.
At the time of recording new beta firmware was popping up frequently. I’ve since switched to the latest stable build. Sadly the project lead passed away so I believe development is on hold for the moment.
Thanks for the video, was able to program my unit but is working worse. What firmware version did you end up staying on? 2.1.1? You said in another comment you are using the latest stable release, but 2.1.1 wasn't a stable release?
Followed this guide to get my 64HD installed, and after a few issues due to my own mistakes, I finally have it working, but no audio is coming out. No bridged connections, I have continuity from the pins to the flex cable, and AV output still works thought the original AV cables. I'm thinking its my mini-HDMI cable as the issue is on multiple TVs. What brand mini-HDMI cable are you using in the video? Thanks!
I picked up this one on Amazon JSAUX Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable 6FT, [Aluminum Shell, Braided] High Speed 4K 60Hz HDMI 2.0 Cord, Compatible with Camera, Camcorder, Tablet and Graphics/Video Card, Laptop, Raspberry Pi Zero W -Grey a.co/d/5xVKFG5
I bought one that was pre-installed yet it didn't have the latest firmware. With your instructions I updated the firmware to the latest release. However, there are some betas in there , the latest one did not want to flash any ideas? Also thank you for this video permanently bookmarked and ofc I subscribed as well
I can’t tell from your comment if the latest one didn’t flash or the latest beta. Unless you’re having an issue with the final official firmware I wouldn’t bother with the beta builds it could presumably be a while or never for them to get worked on again.
I'm using the 2.0.2 firmware version, i still get compatibility issues with my sony, my wife's sansung flat screen seems to work that best, has both audio and visual. My sony only has video.
Thanks for putting this together, its super helpful! You mentioned some driver issues, I seem to be running into this on two systems. I think my Xilinix USB Cable drivers are wrong or old, but I cannot find newer ones anywhere. I keep getting the error: INFO:iMPACT - Digilent Plugin: no JTAG device was found, followed by The Platform Cable USB is not detected and Cable connection failed. Cable autodetection failed, with no help from Google. Has anyone run into this and solved it? A discord server was mentioned, is that a good place to start? Thanks!
@@Chibichief Yep to both. I've also been trying to make sure i have the right driver. In your Windows Device Manager, what is the name of the device that appears when you plug in the Xilinx device? My driver version is 2.0.0.3 and its from 10/26/2007. Is this the same one you have? On the web I see references to a newer driver, but I cannot find it... Thanks!
it comes up as USB Serial Converter on device manager and my driver version is 2.12.36.4 and the provider is FTDI. if you search the provider and the version number you should get a hit for it.
@@Chibichief Thanks. Turns out my pins were not soldered good enough to the 64HD board. I was able to flash the firmware, thanks for your help. Unfortunately, this seems to have bricked the board as now it doesn't work at all. I'm going to sell this console and get a Retrogem. Thanks again for your help!
