This is BRILLIANT!! Thank you so much!! There are always so many ideas floating around in my head. I loved what you said about "mom brain" this is so true! I am a music teacher in a public school in the US, I have about 500 total students. Before children I had no trouble recalling names ....now? I am constantly referencing my seating charts! Haha! Keep up the great work Diane! This channel is going places!

Laurence Einfalt is a French professional organizer and one of her tips saved me many times at work : each item of your To do list has to begin with an action verb. It seems to go well with your system Bises de Metz

I’ve always “brain dumped” all my fleeting ideas, but never did more than get overwhelmed by the looong list. I really think this will help me complete many more tasks. Looking forward to the next video!

Thank you so much for this series Diane. Procrastination has been the bane of my life; I can still remember the first time it happened ( I was at primary school) and the consequences! I am now a senior citizen and still trying to overcome this habit.

I checked out the book after your last mention of it; and am just finishing up now. There are a lot of really helpful things in it, and I've been working on my GTD system for about a week. One of things that was helpful at the first (besides the next action steps) was to first think about the purpose of what I was doing. For example, I had planned for company this last weekend, and pre-GTD my first step had been to plan the food. So I had my menu all planned. Then after reading the book, I backtracked and asked what my purpose was for the get-together. And realized I totally had the wrong food. It needed to be much more casual: paper plates, hot dogs, etc. It'll be fun to explore this with you (through your series), just as I've really enjoyed all your videos. Thanks, Diane!

Loving this series on GTD. I have tried to use this method in the past & have gotten into a mess! I write down my to do list, then I write down my next action items, but then I start to struggle. After a few days, i seem to lose track of the original to do, as i have completed the first action step & crossed it off my list! Can you please explain, in more detail, where you document these next action steps / to do's. How to you keep track of the 2nd & 3rd next action steps? How to I keep track of ongoing, multi-step items? Thanks x

I've carried a little notebook around with me for years now, but it started when I was getting organised for holidays with 4 children and we used to go abroad camping so I would the clothes I wanted to take (to make sure they were washed) things that needed doing (insurance etc) what I needed to buy, and what I had to do the day we were leaving... it's just expanded from there that I need to write a kind of ongoing 'to-do' list to make sure I don't forget anything. It's much easier than keeping a diary as not limited to a certain day, and you just cross things off as you go and previous lists can be helpful, especially if you travel a lot. :)

Diane, so far this kind of reminds me of what I do to plan for Thanksgiving dinner. First I decide on a menu, then I decide who is bringing what foods, then I plan the decor, then, the items I'm cooking, I have to see what I already have and what I need to buy. Then, the day of, I plan what goods need to be prepared in what order, the items that take the longest to cook go in first, etc...

Hi Diane In Denmark (DID) I (DID) as you suggested, however I am in such a mess. I needed a page for each room in my house, as well as a page for 'Garden/Yard ToDO Headings'. I also needed a page for 'Purchases Personal & Food'; and another page 'Purchases Construction/Home'. I made a page for your 'Outside the Home ToDO Headings'; and a page for 'Wish List ToDO Headings"; and one for 'Financial/Budget ToDO Headings'. I put off so much, that I have long list of just headings of things in each category. I took the list that I made day one of all these things in my head, used it and sorted each item onto these various pages, and as I did this I remembered other repairs I need to do in the various rooms. For my situation I need a letter size note book, which I now have. It does feel good to have it out of my head and now organized by room, and category. I am never going to get this done with my physical problems. I need to think about hiring people..., though I hate to..., I know once upon a time I could do all these repairs (except for the roof). Hopefully I can make progress on these. No so Lively in MA

Diane: Thank you for your videos! They are so helpful. By the way, has anyone ever told you that you are a TYPE One in the "dressing your truth" system? I have followed this way of understanding myself and you sure exemplify the type one beautifully! Full of ideas, creativity and fun! I would guess your secondary is a type 4. If you are unfamiliar with this system i suggest you check it out.

Hi Elaine and thank you! Several people have mentioned DYT to me recently - completely independently of each other - so funny! I've been reading up on it and it IS fascinating 😀 I believe I'm actually a type 4 with a secondary type 1, so you were half right! LOL!
@elainewebster8807
@elainewebster8807 6 лет назад
You are naturally listening to your inner truth and that is a wonderful thing! I mention it because I think the type 4 tendency toward perfection is truly a strength and yet needs to be steered with love! Flylady is a great way to do that. Also, you are a fantastic coach and just a genuinely lovely person. Thanks for all you do for the world.

I literally was wondering how to apply FlyLady to projects a couple of days ago. And then you started this video series. The timing on this is magical! :) I'm working on a book, and I have a passion project I want to start. I just relocated, started a new job, and got my kiddo started at a new school, and my passion and education fell to the side because it was all too much. You're helping me get and stay on track. Thank you!!
