I've done all of this for years and years, and I've done spiritual warfare, deliverance, fasting, baptism, obedience, renewing my mind,etc for years and years, and I still have severe depression where I want to die. I gave my life to Jesus 14 years ago and have been for the past 14 years and still no change!
When i was born again it was gone for like a year and when i went my own way too much and sinned from time to time it came back....so sin can be a problem so keep close to God and keep praying and keep reading bible and stay away from sin....and take care of yourself by eating healthy and stay in shape...God wants all of you not a part remember that

It can ve very hard to deal with it. I have done so for many years and the reasons for all of us struggling can be numerous i dont want to assume as to why but i have struggled with depression at times. Never feeling like i measure up to my own or others standard. Thinking that there most be something wrong with me and why i dont have the same relationships that so many of my friends have. I want you to know if you are not happy with yourself say for physical reasons you can always change. If you are not happy with your situation in life it too cam be changed but most importantly remember there are people that care as a brother to you in christ i care and felt the pull to tell you. I understand the struggle and i know it can be hard and while i dont know your experience and what brings you down. I would say at this point i imagine you know what can trigger your depression to act up talk to trusted friends to tell them so they can tell you positive messages. I would also recommend being very careful talking to people and trying to get answers over the internet while many people mean well sometimes there advice can be very brutal and they can seem very harsh this is something i learned when i was coming into the faith and i just feel as if i should say something.
He is real, but his content is bunkum. Depression is not a sin, any more than a wooden leg. It is classified as an emotional disorder. Mine is inherited, and I know where it came from. Depression is for doctors to treat, not uninformed preachers.

Those who yell don't believe what they are saying. I have major depression in my genes, probably several of them. Ask him what his answer to that, is. Faith-healing? Medicine cannot modify my genes. If they were fixed up, there might be side-effects. I have posted a lengthy reply to a better, calmer, more empathetic sermon, from a man from Crossings Church who admits that there are some things we don't understand. Like the way he preaches, but he needs to study more on Easter. We teach today in our churches good Friday then Sunday resurrection. Not a math expert, but if our Lord Jesus says he will be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights. Just doesn't seem to fit to me. Just being gentle and kind, plus would like to know. Research the history of Easter.
I worked a regular 9 to 5 office job Social Services. It's sort of wore me out and I left the job and I invested in real estate and escaped the rat race. Living a life of freedom and traveling to Costa Rica every winter and doing photography then I invested with a family member in a property that cause me to have to lose everything. Now I'm devastated and depressed and I feel abandoned by God and it's not because of the material things I lost its more from my lifestyle
It is sad that this guy is always yelling a lot. I'd appreciate a hint of compassion, not constant screaming at the depressed. To him depression is only a book term, not a reality. He seems to be openly mocking Elijah's struggles.
Clinical Depression is darker than this. The church is still in the dark on this subject. its a terrible sickness that drives some to suicide because of they are exhausted and in pain. Its not a season in your life, its a battle to survive a sickness that takes over like dementia Parkinson epilepsy autism. its not being sad or depressed. its a disease. Not a phase. till you adress it for what it is, dont say anything. all you do is place more bad feelins and a heavier burden on someone who is in disparate situation. The other problem is that you assume thet are not on their knees. trust me probably more than what you'd think. if Jesus can raise himself from the grave and others. restore limbs. heal the sick. there is nothing impossible for Him. its assumed people forgot or don't know. does He heal everyone? No its the a cross to bare. if you never carried that cross you'll never know the magnitude of its devastating effect in ones life. or their family members that care for them. if they stay around. when you get cancer, your friends and family surround you. with mental illness, they walk away. the church is still in Salem with mental health.

Someone constantly ridiculing them! Stop it! It’s actually abusive! Do you feel better putting others down? If so you need more help than those of us who are depressed. You’re a bully!

Jewish tradition says that Jeremiah wrote kings, but it's unlikely because the final event recorded in the book (2 Kings 25:27-30) occurred in Babylon in 561 BC and Jeremiah never went to Babylon, but to Egypt. (Jer 43:1-7) He would have been 86 years old by 561 BC. Although he pays lip service to the medical aspects of mental health issues for the most part he actually is ignoring the physiological aspects of depression. Although stress can indirectly lead to depression, it is the physiological effects of stress cause imbalances in the chemistry of the brain, not the stress itself directly causing the depression. Some people can get stressed and they won't get depressed depending on their genetic tendencies. Allergies/intolerances can cause depression and anxiety. Other physical problems/trauma can cause depression in people with certain genes. He's making out like depression is a choice but it is not. People with depression can do "all the right things" such as talk to people, be open, not isolate themselves, but that in itself won't take an underlying physical problem away. Give your life to Jesus and he will help you. He knows exactly the reason you are having the mental health problems that you are, and he can write the exact prescription you need to come out of it. Just follow Him. People find it hard to understand mental health problems and often get it wrong but Jesus understands exactly what is going on in your body and your life and will not fail you. I suffered with depression and anxiety and other mental issues most of my life and I NEVER thought it would be possible for me to be normal, but Jesus knows better. He can do what we think is impossible. And it wasn't through me "naming it and claiming it" because I couldn't honestly believe I would be ok because of the state of my mind. It was despite my inability to believe for my healing. I just put my life in God's hands, in Jesus's hands. He did it through his sovereign grace because He is so good and loving. I really thank him every day because I feel completely normal about 85% of the time now (whereas before 100% of the time I was depressed) I know I can trust him with the other 15% in His timing.
Yea..his main point was remembering who God is...but we...like to continue the pity party...and come up with excuses. .look..you can't back up ur thoughts with the word of God...James is trying to help people remember who God is. ...y can't u just get it and quit causing division..you dont like the screaming? I was paranoid of his screaming at first. But as I listened, he kept my attention and I could understand. My x husband was a screamer! My Dad was too..it's stressful.
