Impex Records is taking the 60th anniversary of the release of the legendary Getz/Gilberto record as an opportunity to release a new edition of the album within the 1STEP series. The revolutionary bossa nova album, with defining musical gems such as “Girl from Ipanema,” transformed the infectious Brazilian beat into a global phenomenon that even eclipsed the Beatles. To celebrate this occasion, Audio Reference not only makes it possible to hear the high-quality vinyl in a befitting playback chain at this year's High End, but also invites Stan Getz's son, Nicolaus Getz, to a joint listening session.
Nicolaus Getz will bring his unique perspective on his father's life and work to share captivating and heartfelt anecdotes about music and family life on both the Friday and Saturday of the fair. Audio Reference and Impex Records are proud to host Nick Getz, who will share fascinating stories and personal insights into his father's life and creative process, including details about the time his father recorded the Getz|Gilberto album.
