@@JazzBums Actually there is another album that I like listening to titled Jazz Samba Encore! (Verve V-6-8523) by Getz with Luiz Bonfá. Although not as accomplished, it has many good moments even though Maria Toledo's vocal sensitivities cannot match Astrud. Nevertheless it is an often overlooked gem that lives under the shadow of Getz/Gilberto.

@@JazzBums I'm wondering if you have heard of George Garzone & Trio Da Paz "Night Of My Beloved". It was released on vinyl in 2008 (Venus Records TKJV-19196 [Japan]) on a 200g pressing, and features Romero Lubambo, Kenny Werner, Nilson Matta & Duduka Da Fonseca. It's another album I enjoy when the Bossa Nova wind blows so thought I'd share it with you. A totally different style from Getz but highly listenable which I am doing right now 😌

They’re made it really nice and clear on the technical sheet. This is not the original 3 track. It’s a 2 track stereo mix from that tape. The original 3 track has not been destroyed, but at 30ips it became impractical to be used for such a a large scale production once it became a hit. This new tape at slower speed and shorter, by consequence, is the one that has been used in this release and by has been used for all releases until the 80s. Thanks for watching!

@@JazzBumsThanks for your answer, obrigado :-) I am so happy with my 1st OG stereo 1964 version, by the way the one with RE-1 stamper ! This is my comment on discogs : I also have the RE 1 stampers version and it is really a superb sounding one. It is better than the Verve Acoustic Sounds Series from 2020 (which actually is a good reissue). Why ? The OG is so natural, smooth, full with Tubey Magical Midrange ; nothing is hyped up, everything is there. I can listen to it multiples times consecutively in a row without getting tired. The reissue : after one listening i am done. If you want maximum detail, separation of instruments and so on, go for the reissue. If you want maximum relaxing and natural sounding music (flow and cohesiveness) i take the OG ! (by the way : with the OG you have Astrud Gilberto's voice on the right channel, not on the left one)
