I think you made the right choice regarding the van warranty, Brian. Engines & transmissions break for all sorts of silly reasons nowadays. Though make sure you have it serviced at recommended intervals, or they'll weasel out of the warranty.
I had one do that in my bathroom while I was sitting on the toilet. Smoke started puffing out of it and it was buzzing like crazy. I had to jump off the commode and run and find the breaker and turn it off, then go back and sit down to finish my business. It definitely didn't last very long. It was only a couple of years old.
another sorta day in the life of a handyman, after getting the shotz he calls for a wrap not once but can you believe it, twice...surprise surprise, txs for sharing
Should still trip. Even with 'bootleg grounds' Gfi does not need ground to work. They're just crappy gfi's. Man you're brave to pull them out without turning power off! Lol Gfi is shot. Older ones will not trip nomore. But new ones will not even function at all, if miswired.
I love power screwdrivers I had a dewalt and a ridged and now I can’t find neither one of em they’re hand savers on electrical outlets. drills are clumsy. Van is looking good, don’t let it go to shi#🤩
I have a good GFCI story. I built a house as an owner builder and my electrician used all good stuff. Back in the day we used two way radios. My handheld in one of my bathrooms would trip the GFCI if I keyed the mic. Pretty nuts. Nothing plugged into it either.
what did you mean when you said 'flatheads..that means its deep in the wall'? do outlets with flat head screws have really long screws? can't say ive ever noticed..flat heads should be illegal though
Cus if it's a newer outlet it should be a Philip's head so they could be using old screws from the last outlet cus the ones coming with it aren't long enough. Yes the flat head should be illegal 😤
I have the pack out Milwaukee. But I back it up so much I'm sure it's going to ruin my back. I started with a klien but I got sick of running to the truck and stuff as much stuff as possible in my truck
So you basically bought GAP insurance on the van because I just bought a car with basically the same thing and it cost me an extra $50 per month for the insurance!
Yes and that’s also what regular full coverage vehicle insurance covers. Since my warranty already expired the GAP insurance also covers bumper to bumper issues! Plus vehicle rental, etc.
