@@firetoofan5555 every special move builds meter so he's actually gaining some. Also it can serve as a framekill to perfectly time a meaty or setup as soon as the opponent unslumps

@@mattsandvig7868well for characters like zato,happy chaos, millia etc u can say having hkd after wall break is much more important than other characters so I see his point. He might be over exaggerating but I’m not a pro player nor am I a zato player so I couldn’t tell u but I’m pretty sure as zato u don’t wanna be in neutral that often and risk eddy getting hit n being down for 6 secs.

@@JohnnyGuiltyManIt's mainly his notoriety from Melee. Leffen's probably more relaxed now?? (I'm not caught up with recent stuff) It's just that he was famous back then for being extremely toxic. How much of this transfers to GGST? Idk, but Leffen's well-known enough in the FGC so there's that.

@@JohnnyGuiltyMan He's kinda the epitome of the "e-sports douchebag" archetype (minus the bad hygiene) he's a huge asshole, whines a lot whenever he loses and tries to blame external factors, and is overall just not super pleasant personality-wise. He also downplays the hell out of Happy Chaos (or whoever he mains depending on the game) and is known for requesting nonsensical balance/rule changes (like limiting the amount of air time for Jigglypuff in Smash melee for example)

Hot take, playing HC made Leffen worse as a player. He's out here making weird decisions at weird times when he objectively shouldn't be pressing buttons, times he would normally just shoot the gun and get instant hot and ready out of the oven one frame counter hits. 3:55 the man just refused to not summon eddy on clashes or from unsafe times in neutral the whole damn round and got stuffed because he couldn't ever use eddy.

3:57 eddie was out literally for less than 60 frames total for the round, and had to recharge for about 1500 frames total. What a balanced character

I'm gonna be real, I don't understand the Zato doomer mindset anymore. Eddie is virtually burst immune now. (Unless you burst at the end of a combo, but why would you ever do that). The eddie speed buff also makes his pressure and combos even more consistent. Along with the teleport? Insane. If Eddie gets hit, sure, thats bad, but also if Eddie gets hit... Its probably your fault. Hot take, at this point it just sounds like the Zatobros wanna be carried 💀

You really think those minuscule changes are enough? People know what the full power character played like so of course people are adamant about using a toilet paper character. That’s the thing about puppet characters they’re super hard to get right and time and time again when they’re hit because they’re too powerful the patch is heavy handed.

"Burst immune" lmao. Holding burst (when you can) is a pretty common strategy against resource characters, because you're trying to get them to dump as much of their resource as you can so your post-burst situation is better. Against Zato it's way better because it kills Eddie outright even if he didn't spend the entire gauge, and even if Zato baited your burst and blocked it, which makes no sense. It's not as bad as it was before but when he's still the worst character in the game, no, it's not good enough.

@@SuperPsaroBros Idk. I play the character myself and think the difference is much more noticeable. Plus, bursting at the end of a combo just to kill Eddie seems kinda insane considering Zato probably gets another punish for it, and you've likely already eaten all of the damage from the previous combo. Bursting early is pointless as well because Eddie will just be back immediately. The speed boosts allow for better conversions AND easy to set up sandwich situations that he didn't get before. As someone who has played the character before? I think people are going a little crazy thinking the buffs did NOTHING.

@@randommmwiththreeMs I also play the character. Trust me, I've noticed that it's better than it was, and no one is saying the buffs did "NOTHING." The buffs are all very nice. Zato is not the only character that was buffed though. Characters who were already ahead of him like Test, Bed, Johnny, Elphelt, Pot, etc. all also received very good buffs. Saying that he's still bottom 1 doesn't mean that he didn't get any stronger, it just means that everyone else around him also got better, and that he was starting from a point where he may as well not have been in the game last patch. That was a top player consensus, not propaganda from the secret Zato Illuminati. For one reason or another people hold burst all the time, either against a resource character, waiting for the burst-safe point and/or to deny wallbreak. What punish is Zato getting if you burst late? If you burst a guaranteed burst point there's obviously no punish. If you decide to burst when he can bait it, it still doesn't matter because burst kills Eddie on block anyway and Zato's reward when solo is insignificant without meter for Sun Void.

@@SuperPsaroBros well, that one I know. I just feel like in my mind, you can't be reckless with Eddie, but in return you get more suffocating offense and better reward from almost every hit. Plus, it's early, so I feel like it's a bit much to say he's STILL the worst. I could be proven wrong in the future, but I think he benefitted a lot from both his buffs and the universal changes as well. Compared to characters like Baiken who got shafted... I don't think he's the worst anymore.
