Mahdi hassan is my favourite singer, I cried twice for him in my life.In 1971 when we came out from Pakistan ,that time we lost him for the separation of Pakistan and after 41yrs for his death .. My favourite and dearest singer missing you .-----B.zaman, Ctg, Bangladesh.
Badiuzzaman, me too from Chittagong. We separated from Pakistan, but i wonder how large portion(approximately 80%) of our people love Pakistan deeply. Punjabi officers of Pakistan army had seen us as sub human, incomplete Muslim, pro hindu, low category Human being. But in my medical College, i've got Pakistani friends, they are very good, kind guys with warm heart. I cannot understand what made Punjabi people to think about us as low category human beings.

I have not come across a single Pakistani or punjabi in my entire family and friends who has any negativity about Bangladeshi people. This is all the propaganda of our enemies. Best ghazal by the legendary singer ,the lyrics are beautiful today we have separated to meet sometime in dreams like dry flowers kept in books. Urdu language is one of the most beautiful language very poetic and philosophical. One cannot express such beautiful thoughts in any other language than in Urdu language.

Gazal singing is over/finished with the passage of Khan Sahib Mehdi Hassan. Even though, this was a rush version, still with Ustaad Tari Khan on Tabla, this rendition of Ahmed Faraz's Gazal in Raag Boop Kali and Bhupali mix is marvelous singing to say the least. May Allah rest Khan Sahib's soul in peace! Ameen. And, Ustaad Tari khan, a Singer and Tabla player is a class by himself. Love him too.
This kind of pessimism is uncalled for. The younger singers of later generations are doing their best to keep up to to standards set by erstwhile legends. We all would do well to support them in their endeavors in keeping the ghazal tradition live for ever. And how anybody can ignore the rich contributions to the classical music world by Ustad ghulam Ali, Ustad Nusrat fateh alikhan, Jagjitsingh and so many other renowned ghazal singers is beyond my comprehension.
Undoubtedly, Mehdi Hassan sahab is indeed a rare gem. However, I am equally surprised by this great Tabla Player. I would hold him awesome respect as an artist.

Mehdi Hassan & Medam Noor Jahan have a greatest ability that they have no need of rehearsal for song. They knew much more about signing than anyother singer in Asia. Give them latest poetry then suddenly they sung that. What a greatest singer of the world & music world
Best ghazal singer of all times. No one comes close to Mehdi Hasan sa'ab. And everytime he sings the same ghazal a new 'rang' comes out. This particular rendition of 'Ab ke hum' is my favorite ghazal ever sung by ANYONE.
