I've been saying that for more than 4 years :) But when you can buy a pretty nice WE GBBR for half the price, the GHK gets pushed down on the wishlist... Anyway, I got all the WEs I wanted so this is really the next.
I just bought a used AUG and this is an excellent video. I have no idea why people downvoted it. I never handled the AUG as a firearm, so I wasn't sure about the scope. Nice to know they are held by screws, since I assume that means I can pop them out and put a rail if I mill one for it. If you want to keep screws from coming undone, I recommend green locktite. It is vibration resistant which means a hand tight will keep the screw in place, but not tight enough to where you need a lot of torque or a torch to undo. It basically forms a sticky but brittle residue on the threads when it dries which is what keeps them in place.
@@SemperReloading Nice! Although if it isn't stocked here in the US, it actually might be easier for me to do it myself since I have a lot of rail blanks. I'll look out for them.
Thanks for this review, just subbed to your channel! This’ll help a bunch when I get a GHK aug at some point. The AUG is one of my favorites, glad they have it in a gbbr flavor.
This is an AUG A2 because even though it has the integral optic, it is removable, and you can put a picatinny rail there instead. The AUG A1's integral optic was not removable.
Deadfeeder234 Only the spring of the selector has been broken once. Other than that the gun is very reliable. Out of the box, grab some mags, gas and bbs, you’re good to go.
Another question on the barrel length. I noticed that the difference between 16 to 20 inch barrel is that 20 inch will give you a good range and accuracy if decrease the rate of fire to prevent the flyers. Have you experienced that before? Coz of the longer barrel, does it mean that takes long time for the mag to release the gas and achieve the consistent shot? thanks
I haven’t done a test on the relationship between barrel length and accuracy on this platform. But the stock 20 inch barrel setup is good enough to hit a torso size target at 30 to 40m. Also, the amount of time for the mag to release the gas is depending on the hammer and striker setup. Not the barrel.
Hi there. Thanks for the video. Just wondering do u have any outer barrel wobble, as the barrel QD latch is not tight enough which allow the outer barrel to swing a bit to clockwise position when holding the gun! Please advise
A little bit of left and right wobbling. But it’s not significant enough to affect the accuracy. The barrel is nice and secured in the receiver as well.
@@SemperReloading right. I didn’t test how accurate it is with the barrel twisted as I thought the hopup will be impacted too. I just sandwich a black tape and stop the wobble.
Got mine a few days ago and tried it out for the first time today. I have feeding issues. I can only get the first shot out of every magazin. After that the trigger is locked. If i shoot without BB`s i have to rek the bolt to be able to shoot again. Very sad cause i really like the gun. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? I think somehing with the gun safety or the trigger is wrong
i had this problem. the magazine was very tight in the reciver it took alot of force to insert the magazine, after you insert the magazne give it a firm press on the bottem of the magazine untill you hear a click. should function fine
It performs well in terms of the accuracy, durability and gas efficiency. As for the place to buy it, depends on where you live. Best thing to do is to test it in the store yourself before you take it back home, instead of ordering it online. Or choose a store that will offer warranty and fix your rifle if you come across any trouble with it.
Haven’t try the platform in 10 degrees Celsius so I’m not sure. As for the CO2 mag just make sure you test it before you take it back home, since recently quality control of GHK has dropped.
@@SemperReloading That I can't do. There's like one airsoft store in this whole country which sells GBBRs but they don't sell GHK, so I'd have to order it fron samoon. Almost everybody plays with AEGs around here.
@@SemperReloading Nah, I'm not gonna have a hose hanging out from my gun. I will rather risk the CO2 mags if the higer pressure gas will not be enough.
@@SemperReloading oh bro, can you tell me how down the quality control of GHK has been? The receiver, bolt carrier, or the magazine...? I really love Aug but my budget doesn't allow me to make any mistakes :/
@@SemperReloading I got mine recently but mine seems to fail the trigger reset on semi, have to jerk the gun to make it reset the trigger, whats with that?
@@rmtheg234 Check if there’s any deformation or rough surface in the trigger group (especially the hammer and sear), or maybe there’s damage at the bottom of the bolt carrier.
@@SemperReloading It seems to be the hammer getting stuck when I pull the trigger but after a while of breaking in the hammer it disappeared, it works flawlessly now.
@@SemperReloadingbought a used set. Got a really good deal that I could not resist. Anyhow, what spare parts should I buy and always keep in my maintenance box? How do you do your sling?
@@SleepyDioma Spare parts wise, probably extra magazine lips as they’re quite easy to break when the mag is fully loaded with bb. As for sling, I use the rear of the scope mount and the sling point at the rear of the stock to put a 2 point sling on.
