For all those saying Tobias, er, Papa, may have damaged his voice, well, so what! Ghost has been on a breakneck tour since Impera was released, and it's high time Papa and gang get a break, get some rest, and come back and kick the serious ass they have been known for! To me, it was fantastic to see one of the best songs off Impera performed live AND with the Sisters of Sin!
I agree. Even the great Freddie Mercury had a few moments where his voice went. It happens when you're touring at breakneck speed. People need to cool off with the criticism.
This is when he was sick and he eventually lost his voice. He had to cut the ritual short not being able to play Square Hammer and apologized to his fans saying his voice is fucked and that he couldn’t sing another song.
Great way to bring back the sisters of sin. I remember eating the wafer at my first Ghost concert many years ago. I got baptise that night. Fun suff!!! 🖤🖤🖤
I saw them live in Jax FL some years ago, my future wife took me as an early Xmas gift, I was so blown away by the live performance and atmosphere. I would love to see them again. I will say tho it sounded like Tobias messed up some of the lyrics at two spots.
This is when Tobias' voice began to show problems... at 2:30 you can hear his voice crack on the high note... but then nails the same note at 2:36. At 4:34 he has a problem at the end of "shoulders" but then no problem in the next line. At 5:36 on the high "never ever" his voice cracks, so he skips the next lyric & lets the backup singer take it, and then at 5:53 it's clear it's getting tougher for him to hit the highs and he backs off doing them. Did he "damage" his voice here? Shrug. I keep saying it's more likely he has allergies & they were acting up.
Considering they’ve been all over Europe and America since the start of the year with the release of the album different climates and humidity that will really mess with your vocal chords especially with the notes and way he has to sing for some of the songs so damaged no just time off and relaxing the vocal chords he’ll be back in no time
Fuckin' wow ,those gas /gimp masks ,have to be a bitch to do a show in,its' darrk noisy and just all around a very chaotic environment to navigate without anything on your head,,my hat is off to them
You can tell when his voice breaks because he suddenly becomes very self aware. His confidence kinda goes out the window and you can see him trying to see how bad it is. When he realizes he can barely sing, he kind of just stands there and allows his backup to take over.
"confidence goes out the window"....mmmkay or maybe he was just a professional recognizing that that night his voice didn't work like he would like it to work and he adjusted it accordingly?
@@jkorkea If I was the main attraction of a show with 20K people, and I lost my voice I’d feel pretty self conscious because I can’t sing and I don’t want to be unprofessional. He’s Ghost.
well, this song not practice and when they playing on the scene they didnt know the lyrics, if you listen the chores in the second phrase he say "you wann seen from the empire" and thats bad cause really is "you wanna view from the pyre" and another details, but its my pov
A lot of lyric mistakes and some off notes. A shame this song has almost no live register, and this, that should be a special, a live premiere with the sisters of sin, was not that good.
This was terrible. I know the fans won't hear of it, but if your being honest with yourself without giving kudos because you like the band this was not good. I like ghost but I won't go see them live if they sound like this, it would only disappoint me.
They’re actually really good live! Tobias was sick and it was really hot out during this concert. From experience, concerts sound waaayyyy better live than they do on a phone recording
They make good music... but what I don't understand is what people like so much about IMPERA. The worst album so far. Just came here to listen how this song sounds live. Miss old Ghost so much. Yeah, I'm one of those...
@@maskedblackcat It's not their worst at all. They've yet to put out anything bad. Their sound changes every album, and that's a main draw too. I get what you see in the early stuff, but that is always gonna stick around as part of their identity too. They iterate, they do not replace. If they only played from Opus and Infest, that material would get old FAST.
