For those of you who don't know , this was going to be GRFS , however a year into production , after releasing gameplay and footage , tom Clancy canceled this version and redesigned it from the ground up to the GRFS we have now that came out in 2011. Honestly I really wish they would have kept this version

Jonthan Fowler " tom Clancy canceled this version and redesigned it from the ground up" I think you over estimate Tom Clancy's involvement. He was a writer of novels not a game designer or senior producer at Ubisoft. They paid him money to use his name and borrow some of his ideas.
Yeah I remember they had a live show years ago when the game came out. They showed something like this Cept the ghost guys were on a beach and they went under a board walk and then they ambushed a helicopter and a drone then this US convoy showed up
It's the scrapped concept for the game. Same way they scraped Splinter Cell Conviction's original open world Bourne Identity social stealth concept (because Assassins Creed had crowd blending and they worried they would have a product compete with their other one as a result)
Firstly, I gotta say i absolutely love the gun sound effects for the Ghosts assault-rifles in this trailer. When it comes to futuristic sci-fi, for some reason there's nothing more badass than guns that fire solid projectiles and yet when fired sounds like some sort of energy weapon. Obviously though, i definitely like loud thundering gun fire sound effects for some set in the modern day. On another note, I really wish this was what we got when the game finally came out. I mean, i still loved the game - but this would've been cooler. I know Phantoms was pretty much what this game was supposed to be originally, so i guess we didn't completely miss out on the direction Future Soldier taking. Though it's pretty fuckin shitty that they had all the publicity for this game, specifically this trailer and the one gameplay demo, looked like this and despite deciding to scrap it and go down a different path - but never pulled this material. The game they sold in the promotional material wasn't at all what the game actually ended up being.
Despite it's from 2010, This trailer is the best trailer I've ever seen so far! I played the game in 2018 some guys are still playing it! I wish it was made like this trailer! Also, the mini-rocket launchers are too OP! I LIKE THEM! But sadly they're not in the actual game... :( This was one of the best games I have ever played! Keep up the awesome work, Ubisoft! And I'm pretty sure that on 1:41 there is a tachanka :D
I played this game just recently, the plot is spot-on! I wouldn't be surprised it to become documentary in a few months. I like the gameplay, I like that I'm playing for a team of professionals, backed up by american army, not some ex-military freelancers, I feel solid with these guys around. This kind of weaponry, of behind-the-scenes strategy. I wish there'd been GRFS2.
I still love this short film. It'd certainly get me fired for a game release. They need to make an actual movie though. That 20 minute short film "Ghost Recon Alpha" was incredibly done and had awesome dialogue and acting.

Wait what? Back in the 60s they almost nuked us and we almost nuked them. Have you ever heard of the Cold War, or the Cuban Missile Crisis? We really don't like them and they really don't like us. Yeah sure back in the 40s the soviet union liked us and vice versa, but after the collapse and the new gov't rose up we kind of started to change our opinion about them. Hence the entire reason of the Cold War, Also because we were challenging them in the Space and Arms Race. Still the internet so I'll go for the latter. Hint: There are no Nato countries on that list and certainly any country they occupied for over 50 years.
Once again, all those video games, books, etc with an actual hot war with Russia would be "right," if Russia ends up invading Ukraine entirely and then a big war happens.
1:08 haha did he say 3,200 Yards! There's not a snowballs chance in hell anybody could make that shot with a .50 cal Barrett. There's probably not even a scope on the market that could get anywhere near that kind of a sight picture. Good video though
We'll have something like that in the future. A scope linked with a satellite or UAV for real-time info. We already have a gun that predicts the bullet drop and wind speed for us.
You think about it and while there may not be a scope for that distance, you could certainly make a round for it. Just lengthen the ejection port, strengthen the barrel and bolt, and make any other modifications that support a much longer and larger bullet with lets say 1200+ grains (the casing would have to be THE MOST durable metal in history) but that would probably to the job. A bullet like that would be travelling at well over 2000fps (maybe not sure on that) and could probably make that shot. Another inch or two added to the bullet length and 2-3 times as many grains in the casing could probably make that shot, but the scope would have to be like 2 feet long lol. And it would look ridiculous and weigh like 100 lbs but it would be worth it!!!
What so when America does makes a game about America it's propaganda but when Russia makes a movie about Russia it's good movies and it's about loving Russia
