Commander Derek Mason has had a long career of boring assignments, but that all changes when he is ordered to take a small away team to salvage a dead Starship.
As per Star Trek fan film Guidelines, our film is separated into two segments.
“Star Trek and all related marks, logos and characters are solely owned by CBS Studios Inc. This fan production is not endorsed by, sponsored by, nor affiliated with CBS, Paramount Pictures, or any other Star Trek franchise, and is a non-commercial fan-made film intended for recreational use. No commercial exhibition or distribution is permitted. No alleged independent rights will be asserted against CBS or Paramount Pictures.”

Great effort but the woman that plays Archer, why is she acting like that, she ruins the credibility. It's so unprofessional, so much NOT like an officer, she might as well be chewing gum and painting her nails. She belongs in a night club or playing a Valley girl, not playing a character on "Star Trek".

Just want to say that I love Commander Mason. His dry, sometimes out-of-place humour makes the whole production very tongue-in-cheek, and it makes for a very enjoyable watch! CGI, sets, props, clothes, and production values are really high quality. Great job!

Another "fan production" easily as good as some of the pros. I love the premise: building on an event from TOS and running with it. The Trek universe is a big one, and polished stories like this show that depth. Sets and effects are virtually flawless, acting a little uneven, but not enough to distract from the flow. Very well done.

I was at the premier of this film. This is my favorite Star Trek Fan Production I have seen in quite a while. It was produced on my home sets (which I am so glad are once again in good, community-oriented hands), now called Stage 9 Studios. It involves the work of my friends Samuel Cockings and Vance Major. And, it has an element of TOS that I have always enjoyed throughout my life - it makes me laugh. There are so many great cultural references. The production team did an excellent job of making a visually pleasing film, without taking themselves too seriously. I am not a stickler for canon as much as I am for entertainment value - and this film delivers. And, a quick side note, we learned at the premier that the actor playing Commander Mason does an amazing Marty McFly.

*Summer Rose Sutton* There won't be a series. CBS's rules say no more than 30 minutes at most, and no sequels. (Two parters are allowed, so long as you don't go over 30 minutes total.) Anyone who violates that will be subject to a lawsuit, and likely the rules would then be modified again...likely as in "No fan films at all".

My opinion may not be that popular since many comments seem to come from people who know the production staff. However I think the graphics excellent and the production value overall is very well done. I thought the mix of so many uniforms confusing though. It's like watching Generations where the crew seemed to just wear whatever the hell they wanted. My biggest critique however is the sub-par acting from the engineer. I realize Trek almost demands a level or techno-babble but it sounds as if she's just saying words and doesn't believe in what she's saying.

nice project. an enjoyable watch. I cringed at the character's decision of "lets not make a safe shuttle landing, but rely on the transporter of a damaged ship that has dodgy power". lol.

They Could not use the shuttle and EVA is dodgy anyway , so a judgement call nothing worse.

Evil Ash It also seems unlikely that a commander would allow his lieutenant (especially the one he isn’t friends with) to be so openly insubordinate.

Yes I agree about the use of the transporter because I was thinking if something happens to the transporter how are you going to get back in the shuttle? I kept thinking why aren't you using the docking bay? The storyline could've remained the same pretty much.

Looks good, only small bugbear I have is the use of the term "Away team" as in the Original Series beaming down to a planet was referred to as a LANDING PARTY and boarding a vessel, a BOARDING PARTY. The Away Team reference only came into use in the 24TH Century.

@@avalonuniverse6327 This is the RU-vid Universe. The purists are correct. If the crew is sporting TOS tunics, using TOS communicators & type-2 phasers, and the bridge has orange 2x4's... ... it's a "landing party", as well as a "boarding party". Please don't argue with us, as we are aging, and got nuthin else. Never mess with anyone who watched the original series when it was brand new. We WILL scratch you! By the way... Your video was terrific. Get the tall girl some acting lessons, & you're golden. Sure hope CBS leaves you alone. Best of luck!

I think I recognize which TOS episode the events of this fan film are based off of. TOS Episode The Ultimate computer where the TOS Enterprise under control of the M5 Computer leaves the USS Excalibur a complete wreck during the 23rd century war games.

The quality is high here. Well done. I’m a little confused on why the Sub-Prime Uniforms are being used side by side with the Prime uniforms. Also did anyone reach out to Captain Nelson, Joseph Kerezmen, over at Star Trek Excalibur for guest spots? His production had been on hold for a while but it would have been a fun touch to see them here.
@avalonuniverse6327
@avalonuniverse6327 5 лет назад
Destiny Captain This is an alternate universe, neither Prime or Kelvin, which is why the Uniforms are different. Sort of a “Parallels” thing. We are not in any way affiliated with Joseph Kerezmen, but we wish him good luck with his endeavors.

Yes, as Avalon Universe says, these films are not related to Captain Nelson’s Excalibur. But have seen that film and enjoyed it. I hope they are able to make more.

Good explanation for why the crew was all dead without the ship being utterly destroyed (even without the undead). Well done. Woman who played Lt. Archer needed to practice her dialog more, she had several odd pauses in her delivery.

I'm glad to see that someone is still making Star Trek fan films! This one was not too shabby! :-) There's a sense of humor in this video that I appreciate. I remember seeing the original episode of TOS that this video is based on, that probably makes me an old fart...

Small nitpick: away team is a term I don't think I ever heard used in the original series. It's a TNG term. Also, it refers to "away" from the mother ship, where everyone else in the crew stays. In this case, there is no mother ship to be away from. You should have just said "take a small team aboard." Also, what's with the wrong style uniforms?

@@avalonuniverse6327 I just watched this cool fan film for the second time. The sets are fantastic and it is well written but what impressed me most was the acting. The first mate seemed to be a mighty sailing woman and the Captain was obviously brave and sure. The engineer had legs that went on forever. But seriously I think the acting was very good and the humor was spot on. You can have the best digitally created ships in the fan film world but you are not leaving Space Dock unless you have a crew with some acting talent. Oh, and the Captain doing the " Kirk Body Roll " was awesome. I will look for your other work.
