genuinely hilarious that months before seeing this sketch, i found a t-shirt at a local thrift store with a cool looking haunted house on it that said “larboard oaks mansion ghost tour” with the subline “say whatever the hell you want!” and i just thought it was a cool shirt from some maritime ghost tour and never bothered looking it up. it was two days ago that i was binging this series and was like wait a minute… lo and behold ive owned a shirt for several months that’s a reference to a now favourite comedy sketch

A genuinely heart breaking sketch. The guy grew up in a severely repressed home with a very religious mother, and in his daily life cannot swear or say anything "sinful", and here he thinks he is finally in a place where he can be free and have the freedom to say whatever he wants, and even then he is denied that. Truly heartbreaking.

I love humor like this, where you are laughing at a character for being an asshole then at the end its flipped on your head and you feel like the asshole for laughing in the first place at the person's flaws. The last season of Moral Orel is like this. They spent 2 seasons building up their characters for you to laugh at, then in the final season show you how what you have been laughing and making fun of this whole time was these characters very real pain and personal tragedy. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
