Ghostbusters II Rick Moranis and Annie Potts Slimer Scenes 

Indeed, I liked the fact she had no problem in accepting him as one of the them in the GB firehouse... So much like the animation... I can fanboy that. ;)

If ever someone wanted to argue that the Cartoon shared canon with the first 2 movies, the scenes with Louis and Janine and Slimer would make for a good case.

I believe test audiences and Harold Ramis didn't want these scenes in the film as to not make it to much like the cartoon version at the time!

I'm sure a good number of GB fans weren't amused seeing not only Janine and Louis hooking up, but seeing her zip him up in the jumpsuit that had Egon's name on it. 😕

I don't know about tension, but definitely context. We had no clue he wanted to be a GB before he suits up as I recall.

+Rods toy box True, though what made the animated series extra special was despite Egon parred Janine's advances, she never gave up on him, thus, much later on, Egon finally gave in... To an extent, that is...

Honestly, I can see WHY they didn't include it. (Time consuming, not THAT necessary to the actual story, ect.) But still, it would've been a better film WITH it. (along with the 'possessed Ray' scenes.)

Chris Wilson (Phantom 979) That would explain why Ray was driving Ecto 1-a so fast in the 'We're back' scenes in the theater release, for those who didn't know the original storyline. But it probably would take some redoing to make that fit, along with the deleted interaction scenes of Louis and Slimer. People thought Ray was driving fast because they were back in business, and had a lot of calls to catch up on. The exit intro scene of Louis coming out of the GB firehouse wearing the proton pack saying: "Boy, this equipment is heavy" would be defeated if they shown him wearing it earlier trying to catch Slimer because he didn't show any signs that the pack was heavy, especially when he did that little jump off of the bottom steps, without feeling any weight. But should they redo, reinsert these scenes, the movie would be like a brand new version that I wouldn't mind seeing again.

There WAS a kickstarter to get liscenses to make "director's cuts" made of the Ghostbusters movies, of this especially, replacing/enhancing the deleted scenes. Unfortunately, it failed… MISERABLY.

I had the comic Adaptation of GB2 back in the day, and they kept the Car scenes in, and also another scene later where Lewis knows some guy in the nut house and promises him a ride in Ecto1 to let the guys out.

steelersguy74 The cartoon WAS considered canon during production, that's why Janine's character was redesigned in this film to have her appearance more closely resemble her cartoon counterpart

The cartoon is essentially more canon than the films. The films are acknowledged in the cartoon as movies about the cartoon cast.

magnumcornetto Slimer followed them at the end of the first film. It makes sense to me why he would be there.

There WERE still some people in RGB who scoffed at ghosts and thought the Ghostbusters were frauds or con men. That was even the basis for the plot of one episode where these two hack reporters try to do an expose, and through their bungling end up unleashing a demon.
