I saw a few people complaining about the new Set The Tone album by Ghostface because it lacks the distinct Ghostface vibe and is very glossy. I decided to go through every ghost verse from the past ten years and remix them into new songs and make my own Ghostface album; 60% new songs remixed, 40% frankensteined verses into new songs altogether.
I noticed since Fishscale, producers have stopped giving Ghostface the gritty soul beats he started on and started giving him comical MF DOOM type beats and glossy soul with no grit. While I enjoy Ghost over this style, its a far cry from the original dark Wu-Tang Ghost. So I decided to try and add that RZA edge and mix the vibes up more.
A lotta breaks, a lotta 70s samples, wild stories and skits, heart wrenching RnB joints, mafioso staten island hip hop, and plenty of the zany beats; and though ghost isnt as advanced as he used to be I tried to focus on flow and dope beats.
Ghostface is my all time favorite MC and im from Staten Island so I wanted to do the God justice. A little rough around the edges but nothing that cant be fixed. I wish I could have it professionally mixed but maybe later. If you enjoy the album, please share it.
