I met Anna in the 60s at the premiere of the movie version of La Traviata. She and her entourage sat directly behind me and my friends. She was tall and so beautiful! There was a champagne meet and greet afterwards and I had a chance to talk with her. I was studying voice at the time. I believe she was a good 5'8" or better tall! I had never met an opera singer that surpassed her in beauty and La Traviata was her show piece. She WAS Violetta! It's too bad she didn't take better care of her voice! I did an oil portrait of her and she just loved it! Wonder where it is now?
Really!!! that's so cool. I wish I had the chance to meet her. Was she nice? when I was about 8 years old, my parents asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said I wanted to be an opera singer, and of course they laugh at me. I'm 19 years old now and I still want to be an opera singer. It's just something about the opera singers,something so unique about singing the way they do.I guess not many people understand that. It's a shame really. Anyway, I think it's amazing that you've met her.
