It's sad that yall can't appreciate the greatness that he's bringing to the game. At age 26 he's a 2x MVP, DPOY, and possible finals MVP. MJ is the only one who can also say that.
Giannis is a great dude, he gives props to others when he's being compared to them. I hope he keeps getting better. Back to back 40+ game on a finals series after coming from an injury, that's showing grit right there.
@immafinna betryna Giannis actually deserves his hype unlike other players. He's literally averaging 34ppg, 14rpg, 4.6 apg in these finals on incredible efficiency.
Shut up lmfao he’s as close to 100% as you can be. You don’t drop 41/13/6 while hurt. This is gonna he all the bullshit excuses if they lose the finals.
@@BakuranTV Yep, and while I respect Kobe a ton, he was literally a copycat. He even tried to walk, talk, and chew gum like MJ. I know Kobe fans get upset when anyone says anything negative about the guy. We gotta be real though.
great way to answer every question. if giannis can continue his amazing trajectory and win a couple more mvps and championships he’ll be no doubt in my mind one of the greatest to ever do it.
Giannis - a true great in the making… His passion for the game, his intellectual study of how to personally improve, his respect for the great ones who came before him (MJ) and shout outs to the current great ones (LBJ and KD)… I love this guy. He embodies everything you want in a franchise player.
@@imnotblindbutiloveblindfol8449 oh yes I forgot to mention that. Kareem won with Oscar Robinson in 1971. But I could be wrong.... Kareem's name at the time was Lou Alcindor.
Watch NBA Tv with Chris Webber, Isiah Thomas the first two games they had Shaq and Ernie there. Chuck currently playing celebrity golf so he wouldn't have had time for that, plus Ernie on holidays.
@@IknowMoreThanYou Yeah? The series where Giannis and his team essentially had a 4 loss meltdown against a evenly matched team after taking a 2-0 series lead. This is a different Giannis and different playoff Bucks than we’ve seen before.
@@cole141000 He was what, 23? He still had his team in a conference finals. If he'd gotten any help after they put klaw and 8 bodies on him they might have won THAT series 😂😂😂. You have a point, but any player they call limited because his weakness is triple teaming him + an elite on ball defender on him is just hilarious to me😂
@@IknowMoreThanYou😑 He has had a reputation for disappearing in playoff series. This is the first year he’s actually played like an MVP of the NBA in the playoffs. That’s a fact.
@@IknowMoreThanYou and he was 24. Older than Trae Young. He literally won the MVP that season. Then came out and was unrecognizable in games 3-6 against the Raptors - when it mattered most.
I mean if you think about it giannis is built for this .. he came into the league as a project and worked his way to a mvp his team have face defeat together and been down in holes in this playoff run . But they just got grit and once the series goes on they start improving I seen it happen in the nets series . I wouldn’t be surprise if the bucks win this
@@victorsimpson8847 anything can happen. Bet you been a Suns fan forever huh. It ain't like last year or when the warriors were loaded. It's the closest finals we had in awhile
Giannis respects the press. Give thoughtful answers that are to the point and how he really feels. No pretense and no BS and especially no one word answers.
damn MJ average 41/9/6 on that series and Giannis doing it now and dominating you're unbelievable dude....Giannis just need consistency on his teammates and they will win this Championship
That was the sanest view of the game i've ever heard from a player and shows the difference in mindset between someone that plays the game at the highest level and a talking head with preconceived notions. So many players talk about being in the moment when they play (LeBron and Kawhi included), but Giannis really detailed it. If he and the rest of the Bucks follow this philosophy (which isn't just about how to be successful in ANY sport, but all of life as well) and they are the better team, they will win...
I agree and while I believe Lebron is ALWAYS thinking of awards, his legacy, etc...Kawhi is someone I truly believe taught Giannis how to approach post season games. Giannis actually admitted that he learned a lot from that series against Kawhi and Raptors. Im from Milwaukee (lived here 50 years...my whole life) and will always root for Bucks. The player I root for today is Kawhi, then Giannis, then Booker.
Thinking about awards isn’t bad exactly everyone wants to the best and Lebron more than anyone. Which is a good trait... it makes him consistently great
Giannis is so humble, honest, sincere, and down to earth. Other professional athletes could learn a lot from him on how to be dignified on and off the court/field, depending on their sport.
Ya I agree, have been carrying in every aspects - including injuring other players. Need to lead the team and do the dirty work, salute to the best player in bucks - Giannnis.
I dont think it really matters whether he has so called skills or not....if you can score back to back 40 in finals you aren't doing it om luck. You just don't fill stat sheet without actually performing great.
Exactly the skills will come the more he works on his game he’s 26 & pretty much hitting his prime… the man impacts the game in other fashions with his rebounding & defensive versatility.. it’s the coaches job to put giannis in positions to utilize giannis physical ability until his skill set is complete
I see maturity in Giannis, wish you make most use of this once in a life time opportunity, Watching this sport only makes me wonder what a human being capable of, if only som pre-reqs and preparation is in place, Specially when you have to play with and against best of the best
'Giannis talks Jordan': "Im not Jordan", last about 30 seconds in middle of video, but somehow manages to be main title of the 13 min video........ smh
@@DSPHistoricalSociety thats like watching Allen Iverson's conference about Practice, but the tagline is, "Iverson talks about his future with the 6er's." NO, that's not what we are watching this for LOL
@@jeffsamuels2539 clearly you’re here just to be that guy lol that is ESPN’s way of bringing in people who don’t care about the finals and want to hear what they want to hear. But that’s cool, at least you got your 30 seconds from the video lol
Why shouldn't it improve? I mean it's a low-to-mid difficulty language to master. And Giannis is not illeterate nor stupid. It's natural, dude! I would be amazed, if he hadn't improved tbh
I remember when the media asked how close Giannis is to being at his best and he told them “70%” and they laughed it off.. 2 years later he has 2 MVPs, a DPOY, and if he wins this year a Finals MVP! All this without a good jump shot.. this man has the potential to be the greatest to ever do it.
Such a humble nice guy. A dude who has 2 MVPs and two straight 40 point games in the damn finals. If anyone has the right to feel slighted with the media discourse. It's him!!! Really really hope he wins. Would be 100% deserved
Actually, I wanna give Giannis a lot.of credit for checking himself out after 2.5 mins. Now that seems weird to compliment someone backing off or needing to regroup. The truth is he recognized he was already spent (adrenaline wise) and needed a break. Otherwise he may have been a detriment to his team. Never seen something like it before, but I've had so much adrenaline when I saw someone breaking into my car, that I needed to take a minute before running after him with Golf Club because I felt like I was gonna collapse! Honestly, wanted nothing more but to get my hands or club on him, but for some reason I was so hyped, I needed a minute to regroup...hopefully that makes sense.
He has so much Kobe, MJ energy. Give him an elite player like him and see him winning championships. BUCKS THIS IS YOUR REMINDER, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR BEST PLAYERS PRIME WITH BUMS.
Wow, I honestly believe every word Giannis says...and I actually have tears in my eyes (when he talks about injury)! Not trying to take shots at the younger generation, but wish they all had Giannis' mentality!!!
Bucks might've got a few breaks in the past, but you can't DENY how great Giannis is. That performance in game 2 and now Game 3 was special! Go get your ring!
If Booker or CP3 were putting Giannis type numbers in the Finals, the Get Along NBA click would had been all over social media praising them. When Giannis does what he does all you get from these other NBA haters is crickets...
The media and american nba players in general just absolutely hate superstar European players. It's just a trend that has been occurring with Jokic, Giannis, etc.
It's because the hate is real on Giannis. They praise KD in the bucks vs nets series and blamed KD's teammates for the loss. When Giannis drops 40 and his teammates are ass, it's all on Giannis.
@@jqwiiiiqqirmnsnnsnnsnnsmjjrj It's the fact that Giannis is not your typical U.S. basketball dude so they have nothing on him to talk about. No drama, no tattoos, no babies with strippers and "IG models", no child support issues, no rap videos, no controversies. They hate that they can't attack his personal life because there is nothing there for them to talk about. This also includes the other hating U.S. basketball players that don't like him because he is not like them..
Skip after Giannis first 42 pt game and loss: Giannis is not a leader, he puts up great numbers and loses because he can't carry a team and makes everyone around him worse. --- that game Middleton had 11pts and jrue had 17pts. Skip after this 41pt game and a win: this game was all about Middleton and jrue! Look how well they played! They played like all stars despite Giannis! Let's REALLY look at his stats shall we? 41pt no big deal, 13rb well that's what he should be doing, 6 ast ok well he always has the ball in his hands. HE MISSED 4 FREE THROWS I'm sorry but if you're THAT GUY you can't do that. 0-2 from 3???? Horrible. 1 turnover??!!! I mean come on shannon you know and I know he didn't actually have a good game.
This man bring the old nba back. He could have easily goto GSW in last year but he choose to stay like old legends like dirk, hakeem, jordan. Looking forward to see the end of superteam cupcake era(2011-2020). Hope luka will stay with mavs too.
Well English is the easiest language to learn in the world and he's been living in States for 8 years now. That's like making a lay up for an overachiever like him.
What I love tho is that he still has the greek english accent and isn't a tryhard. He is really comfortable being himself whether it's basketball or life and that's inspirational
BUCKS & SUNS POSTGAME INTERVIEWS ARE MORE MEANINGFUL THAN GSW & LEBRON RINGS. ONLY CUS OF THE LOYALTY OF BOTH TEAMS. I WOULDN'T MIND IF BUCKS WIN IT ALL NOR THE SUNS CUS THEY BOTH DESERVE IT.
Giannis knows the game since teens. He learned how to play in Europe, Greece that's an advantage comparing to American players, in terms of tactics and how the game is played. Then he built this monstrous athleticism and power in NBA and mixed every skill he got. People who blame him for just a guy who jumps and dunks, are possibly jealous of what they don't have.
@@avramidis3d big facts these foreign players most of them ain’t built like physical freaks but they come in with a skillset that embodies the way they play in the league
@@javongibbs761 Yep, European Basketball played a huge role in NBA last 15-20 years. Guys like Petrovic, Kukoc, Divac, Sabonic, were the pioneers, but later Gasol brothers, Stojakovic and some I may forget. And now, Giannis, Doncic, Yokic set the pace for their teams and are the superstars. Quality players get forged by NBA qualities and voila! :)
To all doubters and haters , including SKip and rest of media "experts" ! This man is in top of NBA charts with less than 10 years of experience. At 15 years old he didnt even know what a basket ball was like. He started learning in a local Greek league ... Hate all you want, in less than 10 years this guy has 2 MVP , 1 Allstar MVP and is in finals playing like a maniac AFTER a NASTY hyperextension !! Find me another one with ZERO basketball background achieved so much like ever in such a short timeframe. So give some respect, this kid worked his ass off to be able to do that from scratch. The scary part is that has room to evolve more !!! He is not like one of those superstars like for example Luka doncic who playing basketball since 5 years old and in top leagues by age of 15. At 15 more or less, Giannis didnt even know what a ball was.
Dude won back to back MVPs at the age of 25 I don’t think people understand how crazy that is then the next year won DPOTY dude not even fully in his prime which is scary
MJ and Kobe have that mentality that what matters is to get that ring. And I can't help but feel extremely proud of Giannis for staying in focus and brought Buvks the ring
How people say he doesn't have game but he's the only reasons the Bucks has been as good as they are and let's not forget when ever he's plays and the All-star game against the best he still dominant and continues to get better much respect and stays humble 💯👏
Is it weird that I think Giannis is still pretty underrated in the league? He’s been dominant these entire playoffs. I think he’s averaging over 32 in the finals so far….win or lose he’s a top 5 player. Maybe top 3…..just my opinion tho
Giannis is on the right path. When he said I'm not Michael Jordan, he hit the likable button. Lebron James was liking himself to MJ all his career and trying to be the goat, in that process he earned a lot of haters. With Giannis' humble mindset, he'll be the next era's goat.
I'm rooting for the Suns, but, if the Bucks won, seeing Giannis raise the tropy would be something I'd stand and applaud for. This young man is awesome and a great calibre guy.
