Your Fans have always enjoyed your camera placements AND it is not lost on us either the time and effort you spend in making sure Your REEL is The REAL DEAL! Appreciate your commentary as well in keeping us informed and updated on what's happening in and around your Farm! Thank you Eric for always giving us all the good and bad of daily life. A prime example was your decision to pass om picking up The Forms. Smart call! MOO From next door in COW-lumbus, Ohio

That Giant loader looks great. You can really tell the lift capacity is much greater than a skid steer. Kubota powered, so good motor.

It's very hard to do that because of hydraulic jerkyness at high rpm. What I do on our jcb 320 which is 2x the size is a put in neutral and foot on brake. Let the facer push you back as you go down

I like the 3500 Compact Wheel Loader, seems to me the best use for your operation is outside in the yard for what you did. We have a cow or two that has issues with calves from time to time, just a costly loss, but all you can do is either try to figure out what happened or cull the cow. Thanks for sharing, have a great evening!

The issue that the pins stick in the buckets is a common problem when they are new. In factory they put a little bit to much paint on it. We always grind the paint away when they go to the customer but not every dealer does that.

I'm not sure what drive system that payloader has. If it has a torque converter your only option is to do it like you said. If it's hydrostatic then you should be able to creep slow enough.

Some silo questions. Will you use a clean chute or chute funnel? How will the unloader be lowered as the feed is fed out? How will the robots turn on the unloader? In freezing temperatures how the robots keep the unloader from freezing down? How will you know when there are problems with the silo or unloader? How big of a tractor will be needed to fill the silo? What about silage wagon unload time compared to bunker unload time, added cost? Silos and unloaders can be touchy and require a watchful eye. I know A.I. is the software rage but can it handle these concepts? A discussion of these and other comments that come in might be a good topic for another presentation (when the unloader arrives/installed).
@godoftheinterwebz
@godoftheinterwebz 4 месяца назад
Yes Chute Design: Clean Chute: This is a simpler design with a straight path for material flow. It works well for dry, free-flowing materials. Chute Funnel: This has a wider opening at the top that tapers down, promoting better material flow and preventing bridging (material getting stuck). It's a good choice for moister materials like silage. Unloader Lowering: There are a couple of options: Cable Winch: A winch system lowers the unloader as the feed level drops. Hydraulic System: A hydraulic mechanism raises and lowers the unloader based on sensor data. Both methods require safety features like limit switches to prevent over-lowering. Robot Activation: This is where AI can be helpful. Robots could be programmed to: Monitor feed level sensors and activate the unloader when it reaches a pre-set threshold. Communicate with silo management systems for automated control. Preventing Freezing: Heating elements can be installed on the unloader to prevent ice buildup in freezing temperatures. Temperature sensors can trigger the heating elements automatically when needed. Insulation around the unloader can help retain heat. Problem Detection: Sensor data from the silo and unloader (motor currents, bin level indicators) can be analyzed by AI to identify potential issues like motor overload or uneven feed flow. Alerts can be sent to notify operators about potential problems. Tractor Size: This depends on the silo volume. You can calculate the silo volume (area of the base x height) and choose a tractor with a hopper capacity that allows for efficient filling in minimal trips. Silage Wagon vs. Bunker Unload: Factors to consider: Distance: If the bunker is far from the silo, a silage wagon might be faster. Time: Bunker unloads can be slower due to maneuvering the equipment. Fuel consumption: A longer unload time with the bunker might be offset by fewer trips with a larger wagon. Labor cost: Operating a wagon might require additional personnel compared to a stationary bunker unloader. AI and Human Collaboration: While AI can handle data analysis and automate tasks, silo management still benefits from human expertise, especially for: Final decisions based on experience and unforeseen circumstances. Safety oversight and ensuring proper functioning of automated systems. Overall: A watchful eye is crucial, but AI can be a valuable tool for silo management by automating tasks, providing real-time data analysis, and improving early detection of problems.
@MorganOtt-ne1qj
@MorganOtt-ne1qj 4 месяца назад
It's not the unloader that freezes, it's the SILAGE that freezes and causes problems with the unloader! Of coarse, everything causes problems with unloaders, especially when you are in a hurry or have to be somewhere ASAP.

keep a seat belt on when running that new artic. loader you have. they have a strange center of gravity. when you have a load about 4 feet off the ground they want to tip over. We had one for years in the papermill and we hated it. Because we had grab broke....the sheet of that breaks and falls under the papermachine....wet down and haul it out. One day it springs a hydraulic leak and starts burning. lol.... they waited a few minutes before calling security and putting it out. Solved that problem once and all. So...keep your heavy loads low.
@ileenmcminn2062
@ileenmcminn2062 4 месяца назад
Watching the facer from the side I wonder if you tilted it down as you lowered the arms if that would keep it straight? Could you stand in the bucket fill a bucket with the auger while timing it then just run the auger for that length of time into the loader bucket then you wouldn't have to handle it by hand.

@MorganOtt-ne1qj
@MorganOtt-ne1qj 4 месяца назад
Calving is calving, regardless of the calf being alive. Barring complications like infection, the milk producing hormones will kick in as usual, and the cow will produce milk. Oxytocin is stimulated by the milking process, and milk is "let down" especially in 2+ lactation cows.
