Ok, I need to start by saying this was YOUR idea. Honestly, the eggplant emoji cake is probably one of the most requested cakes I've ever had. When I made the Peach Emoji cake a lot of you asked for an eggplant emoji cake. I don't know what the relation is, or why anyone would use this emoji aside from a grocery list, but when so many of you ask for a specific cake I need to deliver. Besides I'm not about to say no to such a fun project!
This cake is another simpler sculpted cake for those of you just starting out with fondant and novelty cakes. Also because it's an emoji and more cartoony, you don't have to worry too much about hyper realistic details.
Inside this cake is also simple but delicious - my ultimate Vanilla cake, which I created especially for sculpted cakes, it's sturdy enough for sculpting but so moist and delicious, especially when showered in simple syrup. I also used my yummy vanilla Italian meringue buttercream inside.
Now, I want to see you all give this "beginner-ish" level sculpted cake a a try.
