So this job evolved from a small walkway with a Hot Tub pad, to a large 850+ sq ft walkway and patio! It took us around 6 days of work, over some of the hottest that New England had to offer in May, and we think it came out pretty nice! The rest of the area will be finished with top soil and grass.
Equipment Used:
Excavator: 2021 Bobcat E26 R-Series
Tractor: 2019 Kubota BX23s
Level: ZipLevel PRO-2000
Compactor: Mustang LF88

Looks nice, but also tedious heavy work. I've seen a few pro paver jobs that have settled slightly over time, correction would involve pulling the stones and regrading/relaying.

That it is. Yea, settling is almost inevitable. Its just a matter of how out of level it gets and does it create a problem that warrants re-setting the stone.

@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC There's no perfect solution, especially in freeze/thaw conditions. By comparison poured concrete could (will?) eventually fail, resulting in a potentially expensive tear-out/replacement. In either case attention to best compaction and sub-drainage techniques will pay off.

Wow that's nice! Digging up those bricks with the ants must've been a pain >.

Some triaxel geo grid would have been cheap insurance for sure

So why the ZipLevel instead of the laser? Just the hassle of setting up the laser? Do you find the cable for it annoying?

Its quicker to setup, move and do math from. The hose can be annoying in large areas like this one, but i generally prefer it to the laser for its ease of use. Laser is nicer for doing big digouts (i.e. basements/foundations where you dont want to hop up and down) with a boom mounted receiver.
