That 6 run explosion in the 5th inning was when I knew the Giants were gonna win the World Series. Knocking off Cliff Lee who was invisible in the postseason in his career was a huge statement. Juan Uribe home run was the exclamation point that Giants had too much momentum to be denied for their 1st World Series title in SF.
@@elevatorelliot714 He forgot to throw the ball to the 3rd baseman he held on to it for no good reason maybe his sensibilities were altered as he enjoys the herb
I remember Lee was supposed to shut us down (just like Verlander in 2012). I still remember an ESPN analyst saying "they'll have to face Lee twice in a long series so if it goes 7, the Rangers just need to win 2 more games because the 2 Lee pitches are automatic wins." I'll never forget it.
As a Giants fan, I generally think the "Nobody believed in us and thought we had any chance" stuff is overplayed from the teams of this era. That said, it was weird that the Rangers were heavily favored in this series. With the Phillies, it was understandable. They were the 2 time NL champs and the WS champs once removed. But the Giants had a better record than the Rangers and even if Lee's 2 starts were both Texas wins, the Giants had a pretty substantial overall starting pitching advantage.
Yup, the beat him twice. Lee was on in game 5 though, but Lincecum was more on. Could have have been a 1-0 Texas win in Lee would have walked Renteria and pitched to Rowan in the 7th. But I more than fine with the outcome.
The coolest thing was even though Bengie Molina lost with the Rangers, he still recieved a world series ring for being with the Giants to start the year
Peopole don't realize how great the Giants Pitching staff and rotation they had. From 2010 to 2014 they are full of experience Pitching. Tim Lincecum, BumG, Peavy, Zito,Cain, and reliver. Petit,Lopez,Romo,Cilla,Strickland, and our closer Wilson and more other Pitching squad. They all look down on our Pitching squad and go for the big Name, but doesn't matter to the Giants. All whole Giants squad are fear no one. They were behind so many games but they fought so hard and this team deserves respect 😊😊😊
i remember i cant watch it on tv because i had to go to warriors season opener against the houston, but i bring my radio with me so i listen to it, Giant is nervous at first inning, but get away with only a run score. Lucky they turn it on later to win the first game. The home run after lee come out entire warriors fan go crazy
