His 2005 season is so memorable for me. My Stepdad and I used to watch a lot of Giants games together and he was always very complimentary of Tiki which said something...he's an Eagles fan! We used to marvel at his ability to break tackles, always stay on the field and fall forward. Love you Tiki!
Tiki one more season you could of been a champion 🏆 I don't blame your decision because we all didn't see that season coming either way my favorite Giant and deserved HOF
Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll have their work cut out for them but one thing that's incredibly important - finishing the season strong and showing pending free agents that this regime has immense potential and not just getting players thanks to overspending.
I hope Tikki gets into Canton!! You know if he had stuck around for one more year and been part of the Super Bowl winning team he’d have been in years ago.
Tiki deff deserves to be in the HOF. Long-time Giants fan, and I know there was that weird vibe with him years ago but the man was fun to watch. Vote this man in!
That makes no sense. Fumble-itis was cured when Coughlin come to town. Many great players in different sports retired the year before their team won. As to Ron Dayne, what does he have to do with anything?
@@newbdakoda3080 we had our time. We kinda deserve this tbh. I don’t expect this team to be back in the near future. I don’t think NE will be in the postseason the rest of the 2020s tbh. That’s just a personal prediction
Only time Tiki will make the HOF is when he's a senior candidate. He's just not a present day candidate an that's because of what he's done first with Strahan and the contract negotiations, Tom Coughlin and his credit of helping Tiki hold it high and tight after having a case of fumblitis, and finally talking smack about Eli after the 2006 season, only to see the Giants upset the best team in the NFL (NE Patriots) in 2007 and lift the Lombardi Trophy after Tyree made his world famous Helmet Catch. He'll be an old and elderly man once he finally makes it the the PFHOF!
There’s no way any of us really think we’re going on a run, it is nice however to hear there’s some hope. There’s simply no way we’re beating Philly tho.
@@jimwerther I want to buy into that but bro, Philly has owned us. I don’t think we’ve beaten them in Philly in like 10 years. It’s so tough at this point to try to convince myself that we can win after I did it 3 separate times last year and we got embarrassed in all of them.
@TrueFineGentleman I agree about the HOF I should've chosen better words BUT I actually thought the same thing about the team winning the SB and it was even more of a conversation back then if memory serves.
@@BennysBenz you aren't wrong in your direction but Tiki spent many years being a above average fumble happy RB who turned his last 2-3 seasons into All-Time seasons... I personally don't think that is enough, when you consider they took a major leap the second he left the building. Ring of Honor NYG? 100% ... HOF? Not in my eye
@TrueFineGentleman offcource the fumbles and that relationship with the press that would bring it up. The other thing I think about is when you bring up an example like Terrell Davis, he was being talked about on a national level. Obviously, he was playing with Elway and they were winning superbowls. I don't know if Tiki was getting as much play nationally, and maybe it was the era, and the NFL was covered differently. Still 100% a Giant great and Ring of honor player.
Enough with the so called football fans that believe in tanking. You don’t tank, period. If you played organized league ball, you understand that you don’t tank. Wanna see them hopefully split with Philly and the rest are winnable. Let the damn draft fall where it falls. Have faith in Schoen and Dabs…it’s a process. Been a Giants fan since 1960, at age 7. Played league ball. Tackle not flag, In thelate 60’s. 60’s and 70’s were no picnic, but you looked for signs of taking that first step, and never gave up. Today everything has to be yesterday, or it’s no good. Lastly, Shaun, if you lose to Philly???? It’s how you lose.
Tiki Barber fumbled 53 times in his career. The Giants still have to play the Eagles twice. The Giants beat the Cardinals, the Commanders twice and the Patriots for four wins.
You really should’ve stayed ONE more season, then you would have been able to add Super Bowl Champion as well! Then you might’ve been in (hof)a long time ago. 💯
I think his absence allowed Eli Manning to elevate his game, unfortunately. I always hated that it happened post Tiki and everyone wanted to pretend it was his fault that it didn't happen sooner. Tiki Barber was an absolute stud and his final five years were astounding.
TIKI Totally an HOF. Other than Barry Sanders, counting yards everyone ahead played more seasons! All purpose yards matter. Look at per carry /catch, only a few ahead ; all HOF. I think the penalty is about lack of SUPERBOWLS but he wasn't a QB.
Make the playoffs so a terrible team can get bounced round 1 and pick in the 20s? We aren't close to philthy we aren't close to dallass that should be your only concern
The constant meat riding of Tiki because of this on WFAN is kinda sickening. He is a borderline HOF`r who had fumble issues during his career, wasn`t a great teammate, and unrelated, but a snooze fest on WFAN
@@Chalk89 I'm not opposed to Tiki making the HoF, but your comment is crazy. First of all, Emmitt had more fumbles than Tiki did, but actually _fewer_ fumbles lost. Secondly, Emmitt literally scored *100* more TDs.
Nope, Emmitt Smith had 22 fumbles lost, Tiki Barber had 21 fumbles lost. Also, I'm not comparing their stats, but I am pointing out the hypocrisy that somehow Tiki was the only running back in history of the NFL to fumble the ball.@@jimwerther
