Tell me your thoughts on Gibbous A Cthulhu Adventure

Yeah I remember spending quite a while figuring out that book puzzle! The important clue is using the Haunter's Mark on one of the candles it says that "order is capital". So for the first candle you look for the book with a single capital I in the title, then the book with two capital Is, then three Is etc. Then you have to choose the first, second, third words etc. in the books, and light each candle in turn. It's tricky cause you'd think the solution for the words would be different than the numbers of the books, or that you have to choose all the words with capital letters. It's all that sneaky Cthulhu's fault!

Yeah the player may miss out quite a bit of the game's story if they're not familiar with Lovecraft's work. Besides numerous references and cameos from stories like 'The Thing on the Doorstep' the story borrows and uses things like the Trapezohedron Don gets his powers from and the Haunter entity the game's first cult about stars from the opening cutscene worships are from the story 'The Haunter of the Dark'. And the town of Fishmouth is basically just renamed Innsmouth and the town drunk, Zadok, is also from the story 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth'. The entity Dagon worshipped by the second fish obsessed cult is also from the same story as well as from 'Dagon'. But the story was for me for example quite obscure and I didn't fully get it the first time I played it. I understand it more now and I think it's a very intriguing, Lovecraftian like, cosmic horror story. And I think it's fine if not everything is explained. Usually, especially in horror stories, it's better not to tell or explain everything at the end of the game and leave some space for one's imagination. The ending itself is also, understandably, not for many people's tastes. Especially if you expected/hoped for a typical happy ending. I was also on the fence about it but after thinking about it I think it works and is fitting for a Lovecraftian game such as this. In Lovecraft's stories one of two things, if not both, happen to the stories' protagonists; either they go insane and/or die. But obviously showing a cruel faith like that in a family friendly game wouldn't necessarily have been appropriate. Although I think that turning Buzz somewhat more mad as the game went on could've worked if done right and would've made him less bland as a character. Regardless, the game's ending works for me. I just hope Stuck In Attic will make a sequel so we'll see where our protagonists ended up. :)

The game's art looks really well done. I'm also not a cthulhu person, so I can't tell you anything about the ending, unfortunately.
