Would be useful and cool if you had a module on the Gibraltar website that allows users to build their own rig, position it the way they want in 3D, then it tells you which parts you need, which clamp or hinge and calculates the total price. Similar to the Sonor SQ2 drum configurator.

Gibraltar gear is superb! I've used several clamps this week to build a custom stand for the microscope I use to build micro-soldered electronics boards. The clamps have no play, so the microscope arm doesn't shake and it all fits on my small workbench. I used this video to give ma some guidance so I could visualise before ordering.

The memory clamp is the most useful. In addition to helping set everything up the same way every time, the memory clamps provide additional support for my heavier drums.

The standard and super multi clamps will work with Pearl tom arms. Our hardware is not brand specific. We design our gear to work with all brands. We did a video a few years ago showing how you can adapt a Pearl drum set to a Gibraltar rack. Standard multi clamps SC-GRSMC (black version) SC-GCRMC (chrome version) Super multi clamps SC-GRSSMC (black version) SC-GCSMC (black version)

The plan is to mount a SC-LBBT cymbal arm for my ride cymbal on the front leg of the GSSMS and I want a 20" crash above it. I also have a 19" crash next to the ride so in order to get my 20" crash where I want it i need to tilt a curved bar a bit forward to clear the other cymbals. It's not a dramatic angle but maby 15 to 20 degrees. I would prefer to use the SC-GCSAR becouse that gives me the ability to move the curved bar up and down if I need to adjust the height.

I would definitely use memory locks for any items that have any kind of weight to them, to help prevent slippage. Clamps that hold drums should absolutely be memory locked. You won’t need a memory lock for splash cymbals because there is not enough weight to make the clamp slip. I would also add them to the frame of the rack where tubes connect to prevent a cross bar from slipping if you have a number of items being mounted to it.

i use the standard 90 degree black clamps at all 3 vertical posts on my rack, the old style t-leg assemblies, both for legs and my snare basket, standard multi clamps for cymbal booms and my primary snare, and super multiclamps for 4 of 5 toms. the toms have the wingnut memory locks on at least one side, the 14" uses 2. the t-legs and 'knuckles' of the rack use slip on memory locks. so really, they're all pretty damn useful to me.. lol

I'm planning on a left side rack to come right off the front of my Stealth Rack (GSVMS), the clamps i'm going to use for it is all going to be chrome. I'll start off w/ the Adjustable right angle clamp (sc-gcara),a 24'' curved wing and i'll cut it in half, the sc-guatc clamp, a 46'' curved crossbar, another adjustable right angle clamp (sc-gcsar), a 30'' curved tube, and a 40'' curved tube (i'm thinking about doing the same design as the 2012 NAMM rack, and Hannah Ford's Rack that Brent bulit), sc-rmaa, the sc-rba, sc-gcsmc (2), the sc-gcrmc (2), and for those multi clamps, i'm getting the chrome hinged memory lock (wing nut version), and last but not least the sc-gcml for the 46'' curved crossbar. Quiz answer for Brent : I think it's the sc-gcsar (the adjustable chrome right angle clamp).

However, if you do not want to go a standard rack route, you can purchase all bars and clamps separately to design your own custom rack. With the standard rack packages, you will need your own snare baskets, tom arms, and cymbal arms, as the rack only comes with the clamps and tubes needed to build it. If you do not have the snare baskets, toms arms, and cymbal arms, we have them available as well.

i just ordered a GSSMS Stealth Side Mount from my online retailer here in south africa , I reading through the parts list now and looking at the video and reading your comment , it has dawned upon my i just bought something useless. Why sell the rack with no clamps to connect stuff onto the rack? you could have even marked up the price to cover their costs. The shit thing is no where in my country does anyone sell these loose clamps.. nowhere .. and due to our currency weakness to the dollar .. ordering two from overseas will cost me the same price as this whole system I just bought. I absolutely boiling mad now. How could you do this. Sell something that immediately needs you to have to buy the rest of it via add ons. Thats pretty shameful, im sorry .. and as mentioned, I cant get those parts anyway .. so you wasted my money on buying this rack .. with no clamps .. thanks a million. NO effort was made, absolutely NO EFFORT to clearly explain that add on parts would be needed. Not in word or in video sample. You video samples show it full of add ons , again shame on you.

Brent & Co., I own 2 Gibraltar curved road racks for my Gretsch acoustic kit & my home Roland Vdrum kit. My Question is: Should I buy 3 Standard multi-clamps or 3 Super multi-clamps for my Gretsch 8", 10", & 12" rack toms? Thx.

Standard multi clamps will work, but the super multi clamp will give you added stability. Especially the larger the drum.

We offer standard rack packages that will work with any kind of set up, and you will not have to buy piece by piece. You can then customize/personalize these standard racks with additional parts we sell separately.

I accordance with this post, there's always been a myth of Gibraltar racks and clamps slipping, because they're round. I've been using Gibraltar racks for years, and NEVER had ay slipping. And my drums aren't light! 14" Pearl CZX rack tom, boomed out at an angle off the rack? ZERO slipping. You do need memory locks as well as clamps, but used correctly, your Gibraltar rack will never slip! One thing so many don't realise, is don't overtighten! It's as bad as not tightening enough!

and a tip for drummers on a budget, standard horizontal fence post is 1.5" diameter. sure its not chrome and pretty, but its CHEAP at the local hardware store. also old swing sets use 1.5" steel tubes too. its not only cost effective, but it can add an industrial look to your kit without being flashy..ive used it as the bar that my snare basket mounts to for years.. :)

No, they're only meant for 1.5" unless you get one of the multi-clamps. One end is for 1.5", and the other can do smaller diameter.

I'm building my own drum rack, I have everything mounted off my rack (rack roms, cymbals). Should I get memory locks for all 15 multi-clamps i'm getting? Or are they only necessary occasionally? I have hear of peoples gear slipping without multi-clamps.

At the Gibraltar website, it's not mentioned that which diameter poles or rod are compatible with these clamps. Is there any brochure or manual for these clamps?
@GibraltarHardware
@GibraltarHardware 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment. No we do not have a brochure with this info available, but here is a rule of thumb you can use for all Gibraltar rack clamps. All pole to pole clamps are 1.5” in diameter for each side. The accessory clamp side to attach a boom arm to a rack will accept a 1/2” diameter to 1-1/8” diameter.

Are the SC-GCARA and the SC-GCSAR clamps strong enough to support a 36" or 40" curved bar with a 20" crash? Which one would you recommend? I'm thinking about getting a GSSMS and since I have several cymbals on my right side I need one of the curved bars to be mounted at an angle to clear other cymbals.

Assuming such an item doesn't already exist in your catalogue, would it be possible to take the rotating mechanism for the clamps @1:15 and apply 2 of them to something like the SC-4429, making a sort of double multi-angle multiclamp? i.e. like the head part of the SC-APM but with rotational adjustment rather than horizontal.
@passiton3801
@passiton3801 2 года назад
I did it years ago, took 4 of their tube clamps with tom fittings an put them together to form two multi rotating tube clamps using twin thumbwheel fittings (one being fixed) with an extra long screw bolt thro them. It was fitted with 3 cymbal clamps (one was for a cable hat) an 2 tom holders on the top rack. The legs simply folded up using the thumbwheeel tube clamps, I could carry the folded up rack in one hand. I had the only twin tube folding clamp rack set up. Worked for me. Even Gibraltar at a local trade show, were amazed when I told them..

Is it possible to separate the SC-GCSRA into to 2?
@FrankDag
@FrankDag 7 лет назад
No, it is one piece and cannot split apart. It's hinged together. I had to replace the two that came with my Gibraltar GCS-450C 4-Post Curved Rack because I need my side bars to be slightly lower than my front bar. My front bar is raised all the way up so the bottom of my rack toms clear my bass drum (just barely, and my bass is 20" and my toms are 12" x 9" & 13" x 10"); my side bars are lower so I can pull them tight and my hi-hat and ride cymbal are closer to me. I play a very tight kit and the SC-GCSRAs didn't give me flexibility.
