Rob's chops at the beginning were incredible! And Lee's vibrato when he just grabs hold of a note for dear life is to DIE for Blew me out the water with this episode guys
My recipe book should be on sale in time for Christmas - it'll be a great gift for absolutely nobody in your life & should be available from terrible book shops everywhere!
I would love to learn how to fry amp tubes. I am sure my recipe is not anywhere near good as yours. My recipe is simple. Boss Metal Zone, unstable power source, and a Chinese guitar. Crank to power to maximum, and watch the tubes fry until they just begin to smoke. Or you could go Cajun, and let the tubes fry until they are completely black. Delicious!
I see your problem. You have not explored the joys of impedance mismatch. Sauté your 8 Ohm head into an organic mix of series connected cabinets at around 32 ohms. For a quick fry effect try 64 Ohms and bring a fire extinguisher just in case. Happy BBQ mate!
Okay- I know I usually rip apart guitars in my comments, but those Tribute Les Pauls are honestly gorgeous. Probably the best looking Les Pauls Gibson had made since the 1950's in my opinion.
I have let you down, I feel ashamed. My heart feels hollow and my heartbeats dull in the echo of my heartbeats from a happier time. Please forgive me Alex.
That solo at the beginning is the best and most original solo I've seen from Rob in a long time. Very smooth and fast but also very musical. Not knocking what he usually does at all, just really enjoyed this one!
The book would be about learning to play with each other, the respect, growth. business, all the things that have taken place between you. Thanks guys. I continue to enjoy the ride.
The first minute of this video kind of sums up why I love Gibson.... It's a tone's just balls-to-the-wall heavy but it also has a vintage sweetness to it. There's nothing like a Les Paul.
Too early for me to have even seen the whole thing, but I know it's great so I don't even have to wait to say how great it is. Dope shreds in this intro, Chappers!!
i love seeing the faces captain makes when rob is playing the guitar haha... man i watch you guys alot now. dont know how that happened; but good job on your videos!
hey, rob you must practise alot the days - you play amazing good this vid-fast+ exact !! lee too !! you jammed together al lot ! is it so? the amps+the guits sounds great !!! THX
I love watching these two guys everytime...They can careless about all the craziness in this mad world and you just hand them a guitar, they'll grab any guitar and just rock out and nothing else matters ! I love it ! I love you guys ! This is how you deal with the craziness in the world, in your world, forget about this bullshit what's happening in your life, just grab your guitar and jam, rock it out !...:)
I like all the videos that you (Rob and Captain) make. I've been searching for this kind of channel for a long time where the people have such great experience in the guitar world combined with the video effects that keep me from getting bored from the half an hour length videos. Most of the time you upload videos which have the top notch gear which I can't afford BUT then you also upload budget series gear, many of them, which shows that there is an improvement being made even in that budget section. You upload videos every 3 days which is really nice and I appreciate it. Thank you guys........
Randy Rhoads once said: "The better and prettier the guitar looks, the harder I want to play it. It's not a thing you hang on the wall and look at". He also asked "Would a race car driver park his car in the garage and just look at it"?..... his point was, just play the damned thing because that's what it wants you to do. Awesome video guys...hoping you do one on the LP Classic as well.
I'm not always crazy about the looks -- I love binding -- but the unfilled, slightly worn FEEL of the finishes on these series are what I want every guitar to feel like. I have a gold top 60s Tribute from a few years ago and it's the instrument against which everything else is measured. It's not very fancy looking, but it sounds great and feels absolutely perfect. Watching this video really tempts me to pick up another, with humbuckers this time.
Rob, Lee.....you need to have a "Guitar Olympics" with all of you guys (Rabea , Matt , Pete Lee , Dave ,etc) *string change timed *pick throw *rig setup timed *pedal board wiring timed *amp and guitar up some stairs (late for a gig)
Bought a faded cherry back in 2017 and still love it. Even more-so after a few of my own personal mods. Definitely stands up against my higher end Standards and CS guitars.
Lee, your playing comes to LIFE when you move away from (quite dreary) 12 bar blues stuff. I realise it's roughly the same thing, played differently, but it tickles me bits, it does
So lets stop and take a break here.. I gotta say that i've been watching you two for a few years now and I truly enjoy watching you play. Love the interaction and the way you work off of each other. You've both developed in different ways. Nothing to do with accomplishment but a lot to do with empathy.. You've both learned to play with another player. Thanks. Your relationship is worth a book... think about it.
I was fortunate enough to check out the whole 2017 Gibson line up recently. The 2017 tribute is an absolute great deal for $899. It definitely has a slimmer neck but the satin finish looks and feels incredible especially when playing up and down the neck
That opening jam was great. I really like that you guys put some much effort into proper audio recording for guys with nice audio. :D Keep up the good work.
Brill, you lot are definitely the Clarkson, Hammond and May of the guitar world- the Top Gear of guitars, and who didn't love the previous Top Gear?! That Paul is a stunner of a bargain if you're wanting American Gibson....one of these Les Paul's, a Mexican Fender Strat, a little valve amp combo and your choice of pedals and a decent acoustic you're in guitar heaven and Bono and Edge would find what they're looking for and Mick Jagger and Keef would get satisfaction.....loving it 🤘❤️👍🏻
The new Les Pauls are really looking great! Just when I thought the quality of demos is kinda dropping for the past month, this video saves it! Great playing for the intro :D
Let's list so far changes to my 2017 Gibson HP faded cherry LP. First the metal left. Metal knobs gone and replaced by Original Gibson black speed knobs. Took off the metal pickup rings and just left the black rings in place. Removed the G-Force and replaced it with Grover Locking tuners. Replaced the crap strap buttons with Schaller strap locks. Added the black biscuit to finish the original LP appearance. I actually like the chrome switch knob, better grip and feels better to me. Jack plate is getting upgraded to metal as well.
I recently tried both the hp and the t tribute, I personally liked the 490ts more than I thought I would. Also, I'm over GeForce tuners. I hate changing strings with them, the tuning pegs will randomly turn while I'm putting the string in and it stabs me every time and it refused to stay in tune. I'll take standard tuners.
