Today I am reviewing the Gibson J45 Standard acoustic guitar. The "Workhorse". I cover specs and a short and simple sound demo. #gibsonJ45 #workhorse #gibsonj45demo #j45 acousticguitarreview
What a beautiful ring it has. I came so close to buying a J45 but I got the Gibson Songwriter instead. But I still want a J 45 though because it's more conservative looking than their fancier models making it look wholesome simple and country looking.
How has the songwriter treated you? Do you love it? I've almost pulled the trigger on one several times but didn't. I've owned 2- j45s now & will never let the current one that I have go. I've got a Martin OM-28 that never gets played & may sell it to get a songwriter
That's awesome man! I had a Songwriter a few years ago and I loved it.. My main weapon is a Advanced Jumbo and it's seriously unbelievable!! But I do miss that J-45 Mahogany back and sides tone.. A good J45 is just so versatile.
I have had the guitar for a year now and I remain impressed. I didn't like the Gibson strings that it came with. I now string it with the D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze strings 12-53. It is really an exceptional combination.
@@seanhopkins3758 thanks for the quick come back answer! Just bought one . Be hear next week. Those xs strings sound great . I have put those on couple guitars and they sound better and feel better tha elixirs. Thanks
@@seanhopkins3758 I, too found the XS PB light strings work really well on my J-45 2014. The last set lasted 6 months and could have lasted longer but I'm sometimes impatient to try other brands.
@@martinsundland7614 A lot of people give coated strings a bad rap, but between the Elixr's and now these XS PB's from D'addario, I think both are really good options. They sound good for a long time.
I bought a 2020 j-45 new. I own a d-35 and hd-28 Martin also that is older quite older. They don't get as much playing time as they did before the j-45. I really like the shorter scale length and less tension on the strings. I'm not very fond of the VTC pick up. You would think at the price you would at least get the lr baggs anthem.
I also own a 30 year old Martin D35 and a 30 year old J40. I love both but my 2020 Gibson J45 sounds just as awesome. Make sure to give them all some love and pick them up and play them all.
also, I used both martins on an album I released this past June called Chasing Ghosts in the Dark. You can stream it on Spotify, Pandora, ITunes, Amazon and bandcamp. You should check it out!!!!
