Hi friend! thanks for joining me today! Let's Check this Gibson Les Paul Studio. I hope your day keeps getting better and better! 💜 don't forget to like, comment and SUB!!
I do love them as well!! I hate the little problems they have, like, this one a couple weeks after I made the video, an inlay popped out and it turns out, it’s a common issue on Gibsons, which sucks cause a guitar is basically a month’s worth of salary for a lot of people and having issues like that, is annoying. 😅 still love em. But i HAVE to call them out.
@nowwebreakitdown9491 What gets me is Gibson is not the only company that has flaws, people seem to always bring up all the flaws and I agree there shouldn't be any. I just think people think they cost too much. Price doesn't mean they are bad, just overpriced.
I think you’re getting the nail right on the head. Is easier to let things slip by in like sub 1k instruments. But when you’re in the higher thousands, most people don’t take it likely 🤣 I’ve seen people lash out HARD on Gibson for messing up standards and custom shops, even Ultimas. 10K instruments that can’t be tuned and crazy stuff like that. So it gains notoriety. But I agree they’re great and most people don’t talk about it.
there is the fable of the fox for whom the grapes are too sour . there are a lot of people who don't like mercedes, for example, and flatter their dacia, it's the same with apple products and many more others where the prices are higher but mostly the quality too. this week I get my Studio. I own already a Standard and an SG. but : 5 Fenders too. each has its benefit. I lobe both !😃
The 490 / 498T combo in the Les Paul Studio is the same as in the Les Paul Custom since forever. If you like rock since the 90s, you've been listening to the 490/498T combo...
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I recently caved in and changed the plastics 😂 I got cream pickup rings and switch head. I think it looks so much better!! I’m going for the Pearloid tuner buttons and the wide bevel truss rod cover. I’m not in a rush, but, that’s where I’m going 😅😅 hope you’re having a good weekend friend! Thanks for your comment!
just got a 2016 studio in a vintage burst and love it. I'd also skip that coil split cause it doesn't add anything special. Great tool to use overdriven and distorted sounds.
Great guitars!! With a nice setup, you got a guitar for life my friend!! I hope I do too! Lately I’ve been finding it’s utility, having fun with that sound. It’s cool to access different pallets, I found that it sounds like nothing else, there’s something happening in the high end, that when paired with a good overdrive, sounds special, I’ve learned to appreciate it🙌🏻🙌🏻 anyway, thanks for your nice comment friend!!
The studio is a strictly business, Gibson Les Paul complete with all the mojo to make the magic but just not all dressed up with fancy binding. Kinda like a biker at a corporate meeting. He still addresses important points, speaks his mind and provides productive input but without wearing the expensive suit. Personally I prefer Studio’s as they are awesome, sound and play great and say “Take me as I am”.
I agree with your position!! It really is a great guitar. And I think, at a fair price for a Gibson. The standards are just way too much for what they are IMO, and I think the market itself it’s proving that fact. Every time I need a Les Paul sound, I get it with this one! Thanks for your comment friend I hope you have a great weekend!
@@Itsjorgelanzas thank you very much ! I ordered the wine red . fits together with my SG Standard. what an overdrive sound ❗️❗️❗️I am an absolute beginner, but I already know what it means to start collecting ....pure addiction .😁 gave a nice day !
I bought the exact same guitar from Sweetwater, in the Bourbon burst, mine looks Spectacular. You could actually call it Burgandy burst. I never considered removing the pic guard. And I like my black volume and tone control knobs. I added the poker chip on the 3 way switch which I thought added a nicer visual. Your description of the 490 R and 498 T pickups was absolutely spot on.
I love Gibson but pick the right one is kind of hard because all Gibson sounds different. But honestly, if I'm gonna pay for a 3K guitar I won't pick a Gibson, I'll go for a Core PRS.
What a great guitar indeed!! I’ve had no problems other than my 7th feet inlay that popped out 🤣🤣 I’m starting to get used to the extra scratch! Thank you for your comment friend! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Are they overpriced? Well, American Fenders start at the same price as a Les Paul studio now. So an assembly line guitar that is screwed together with a plasticky poly finish is the same price as a carved top, set neck, nitro finished guitar. Which one do you think is overpriced?
Totally true!! I agree 100% with you that the studio is a great value guitar! 🙌🏻 and wow, you’re so right about fender getting INSANELY EXPENSIVE 🙌🏻 thanks for your comment friend
You may be right, I agree but, I have so much more experience with fender and so little with Gibson that I feel I’m still on the fence. I’ve played incredible Gibsons, but, I’ve been lucky 🤣🤣🤣 What do you think of PRS?
If people hate the Gibson Les Paul Studio, it's for stupid reasons. It's literally because it doesn't have binding or decorative AAA wood and can me for that too. I mean it's part of the Gibson thing. The craftsmanship, the curves, the arches, the set neck. If you're a professional musician or you happen to how $5000 on a guitar, why not. But if you want a quality guitar to play on at home on the weekend in the spirit of the Gibson Les Paul and you know how to set you guitar up for you, they are amazing guitars. It isn't just a name. It's the components. The wood, the pickups, construction. I have played so, so many guitars over the last 20 years especially, owned quite a few and nothing beats me 2007 Les Paul Studio. Really. I can play others, but when I come back to my LP Studio it blows me away every time. It's solid guitar.... Actually it's chambered, but it's a SOLID guitar.
I love my studio!! And I agree with you, it too long ago I did a short talking about how lucky I felt that my studio is great and looks good 🤣 and one comment literally said: “it’s just a studio, what are you talking about?” 🤣🤣🤣 sometimes some people fail to go past the “status symbol” of an instrument. That’s the people that hang guitars on a wall and don’t play them. Anyway, thanks for your nice comment my friend.
Great review... Not a Gibson fan....questionable qc...heavy ..and expensive...so many other choices out there now for less money with graet options like stainless steel frets for example
Thank you for your nice comment!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 and I agree! You can get almost as good for less than half the price of most standards, it’s really incredible!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@Itsjorgelanzas yes think about it....schecter...yamaha revstar...ibanez...LTD....D'angelico.....eastman....PRS SE/S2...etc etc all making great quality guitars for les than half....amazing!!!?
It was a hard year for a lot of people my friend. But you made it. Just imagine that there’s people that sold a 59 burst for $12k in 2006. Now, that was a terrible decision. I hope I get to keep mine for many years. I had my first scare not too long ago 🥲 rent prices are UNBELIEVABLE.
I ❤ Gibson I don’t like the studio though. I don’t like the 490 T pups. Harsh and raw. Burst Bucker 2 and threes are greeeaat!!!!!! Maple necks are a no no. The standards are fabulous so are the sg standards. You don’t need loads of guitars you don’t need a cheap fake guitars with upgraded pickups, you just need a couple of really good guitars. And spend the time learning your instrument. Having said that your studio sounds good, not the best but very good. It’s a nice guitar.
I agree with you!! The goal should be owning Just a few great ones and you’re solid!!! I do like the 490s series for what they are. Like that 90s rock 🤣 and what are your thoughts on the pcb? I wonder if it would really make any difference in a guitar like this. Cause I really like the feel, I finally got it nicely dialed in and it’s really good for my budget right now. I just wonder if I should do the 50s wiring! Anyway, thank you for your comment my alien friend!!! 🙌🏻
The _Studio Deluxe_ IV that was made for Guitar Center came stock with burstbuckers and a hardshell case. The Studio Deluxe III came stock with '57s I think. Anyway I think these are out of production and there's not too much info about it....
There is no bad piece of wood with strings on. Stop trying to find a perfect guitar. Rather invest in learning how to play it. I only have one Les Paul in my studio...yes, it is a Studio.
Love mine too! 🤣🤣🤣 but it gets sooooooo much hate, like the other day I did a short about it and snob said: ughhh it’s just a studio, get over it” 🤣🤣 I’m like, I love this thing 🤣🤣🤣
That’s true, but the tribute doesn’t have the same materials and components as the standards. I know they’re good, but I feel it’s basically like any other guitar with Gibson on the headstock.
I don’t. And no. And in this You don’t get what you pay for. You get what they sell you in that budget. Just keep watching their prices. It’s all arbitrary, they choose prices based on how much they think people would pay. Have a good day!
The thing about the studio it's gonna sound like something is wrong with it if you play it through a garbage old amp lol. Play it through a good one wow
What's a garbage old amp? I want 1. Where do you get these old garbage amps from? Bet we could make sum good punk rock with this old garbage amp. I got a Boogie. But also someone gave me a H B Monoprice 15w cabinet w/o the amp part. So I bought a Hotone Mojo Diamond (Fender Tweed) head to throw on top and make a cheap amp. Is that the same as a old garbage amp? Cause it rocks with that 12" Celesion speaker. In all reality Any amp would work if YOU can play. And if you can't play the best equipment won't help you.
@@FATMAN-EATZ Ooh ya I get it. Like someone gave me a Crate 15 watt amp that's only good for the RCA's to hear my phone through or run my looper/drum machine through. Never for guitar unless I'm doing a new loop.
