Gigantic is finally in open beta on Arc and is coming to Steam on July 20th, so I figured I'd hop back in and play a few matches. There have been a lot of changes, mainly to game pace and balance, but overall the game feels great and I'm really hoping Motiga has finally hit their stride - no more months-long delays in development or beta weekends after beta weekends. The game is very fun and I'm hoping that Steam will finally open the floodgates and see plenty of new players pouring in.
This is a Tyto game I recorded on Siren's Strand this morning (finally, no more goddamn Ghost Reef). I generally don't go for assassin-style characters in other games, preferring to stick to tanks and supports, but because team comps in Gigantic aren't as rigid as they are in traditional MOBAs or games like Paladins and Overwatch, I have a little more leeway to step outside of my comfort zone and experiment a little. Heroes like Tyto and Tripp feel great to play because of their speed and mobility, and leaping into a fight, slicing some fools up and leaping out again feels great. I think I pulled off some pretty smooth moves in this one - quite proud of that Knossos dodge at around the 30 second mark.
