The moment he said that I knew people were going to misinterpret and clown him. He was making fun of Gil's facts. Like I took a logic class and they weren't addressing each other's arguments. Yes the fact of the matter is they took him, what the other guy is saying is that it was a mistake to do that, then Gill doubles down and goes how is it a mistake when they picked him so then we have this circular logic because regardless of whose technically correct they're not addressing each other's arguments. People pick their wives over other women and then divorce them because it was a mistake a bad pick. You don't keep going no it's not because you picked her tf. The only part where he completely fumbled in my opinion was when he was talking about pops not playing young talent and then they listed off the Bible of young Talent pops has played Edit: oof then later with the age duos
@@OtakuTalkOD I disagree I’m not sure what you think didn’t get addressed. The main point Rashad brung up was the unproven aspect of the young talent/team which is heavily contested pretty much throughout the entirety of the segment , Gil’s not saying “I picked my wife therefore there wasn’t a mistake” Gil’s saying “no it makes sense I picked my wife she suck it with out me asking ,she cooks and rubs my back “ you may say these two things are the same but I believe that’s a simplification because on one hand one person is being highly defensive and not engaging and the other person is engaging critically with the question presented (also this analogy is borderline non analogous because there’s almost always going to be some raised defensiveness around people talking about your partner where as there’s little to no defensiveness debating epistemically how teams choose players)
Naa he’s right go look at Scoot Henderson most of the lottery picks of the last 10 years end up in G League bcuz their to young when they come out that’s his point another example( Wiseman Warriors)
McCants literally talk just to talk bruh😂 Vassell and Keldon are noting like Castle, castle could be an all defensive candidate in the future and he’s not a good shooter like they are, as of rn
I'll say this you can't say that until he actually plays in the NBA. What was Vassell and Johnson upside when they got drafted? It was probably the same thing but they are vets now and see what they are
For sure you need to keep him on the show otherwise it would end up with everyone agreeing with each other not talking about shit 😂. But man he say some DUMBASS shit
This era of NBA basketball is, in fact, the Age of the International Center. From the transcendent, extra-terrestrial talent of Wenbanyama, to the sheer dominance of Jokic, Embiid, Antetokoumpo, and Gobert (defensive), foreign born Bigs are dictating the outcome of games and playoff series. This holds true even for the reigning champion Celtics whose featured players are American-born, versatile wings, but have three foreign born Centers on their roster (more than any other team in the NBA) representing Latvia, Portugal, and the Dominican Republic.
Best part. "fuckin.. Tony Parker! Let's go! Let's keep going!" *Swaggy P daps up Gil*. Rashad saying dumb stuff like when has Greg popovich ever played young players. They went on to list about 25 lol God sometimes we shot doesn't think and I'm positive he doesn't prepare for the show.
You can always find a young dude who balled out and an older rookie who balled out. Young dudes might have the talent, but many don’t know how to play and the NBA will only be but so patient. Then you’re overseas like a mfer.
@@ninocrown3247 You a gm with a 12 man roster, your starting 5 is Kobe Tmac LBJ KG Dwight Howard. The back ups of Guards: Monte Ellis Lou Will Jr.smith Forwards: Josh smith Rashad Lewis Centers: Tyson chandler Darryl Dawkins… Are you happy with your roster?
This is literally his biggest problem. If he’d stop trying to do it on purpose he wouldn’t be so bad.. he has the same attitude as my uncle it’s actually crazy… it’s like he’s trying so hard to go against the the grain that it fucks his character up
@@kendog8788no shyt sherlock. Those kids in Europe start playing pro ball at 15 and play basketball all year around instead of waiting for "basketball season"
He wants to take advantage of wemby’s rookie contract since he’s cheap for now like a rookie qb, he has a point since he’s amazing but its much better to draft safe picks now(19, tall as hell, with potential and skills)
Exactly. Spurs is a small market, too, not really a FA destination. That’s why they build their team most of the time through the draft. It’s gonna be a mistake to expedite that rebuild.
The fact that they DIDNT watch the Spurs this season & now they are all experts on the existing players. *Goofy * The Spurs ARE NOT moving Vassell nor KJohnson
Probably redshifted/ transferred a year.but you're right 21-22 is the average student age who goes 4 straight. But those red shirts/transfers are 2-3 older then the average
@JohnnytNaturalhis career ended before it started a bunch of broke trolls setting on couch put down other players to uplift LeBron big nasty cheating ass
Castle said that he wants to play PG in the NBA and he said that he wanted to go to a team that needs a PG. He played PG in HS, but in UConn, he didn’t. Coach Hurley said that they didn’t need him to play PG for them because they already got players in that position that’s why they moved him to another position. I think Vassel will remain as shooting guard. Johnson will remain as the 6th man. I think the one that is moving is Tre Jones. Tre might move back to the 2nd unit to allow Castle’s development as PG for the Spurs.
Being able to constantly come in and sit down, look at Mccants in his face and hear his takes.. has to make you guys some of the strongest men on earth. Real shi lol
15:00 They're forgetting the biggest attribute Reed is a pure shooter and the Rockets need shooting Reed was the best shooter by far in the draft with historic percentages
Drafting upside used to mean the player had enough game to make an immediate splash but needed some years to reach his peak. Now upside is, he not really ready to start or play but has potential to impact the game later.
Gil was right 1 or 2 wks. ago when he said the NBA thinking is to draft on youth and possible upside against age and experience. The older players didn't start moving, in mass, until end of 1st round.
THE JAMES FAMILY CHESS MOVE WAS GENIUS....GROW WITH NEW SYSTEM, LOW EXPECTATIONS FIRST 2YRS, POPS RETIRE AFTER YOUR MAX CONTRACT YR 4, ANOTHER JAMES TAKES OVER THE LAKERS WHILE JEANIE SALES THE TEAM TO MAVERICK, LEBRON + RICH PAUL....2028👽👑🇺🇲🏆🤑💪🏾🌏😎
I watched Rashad win that national championship game in St Louis. Sean May was the focal point that season in the final 4 raymond run doing the court full speed every play was lethal. Rashad was the most consistent player. That team was so cold. Dee brown and Deron Williams couldnt keep up
Rashad stuck in 2004 where NBA teams valued experience over potential. The times have changed. NBA teams rather take a chance on unproven players who show glimpses of greatness vs. an established player where its unlikely they get even better than what they are currently
Sometimes when he tries to be the detractor just for views, it doesn't align well with the discussion. If something is hard fact then you try to disagree you sound retarded.
What Mccants is saying is unless you’re obliviously one of the best players in a draft( Ad,Ky,Zion, wemby etc) then you shouldn’t be picking off strictly potential
Rashad keep projecting his career on to the rookies now. It’s a man right next to him and plenty more that got solid minutes and developed quickly or started as a rookie. It’s not guaranteed they won’t play 3 years.
Mccants is right about something that most agree on. Why are so many players coming out early. The NBA is hurting from so many players not being ready. Maybe a reason so many super teams are forming
The young teams they named had a veteran leading them before, i don't really know the spurs roster if they have a veteran that could lead them but i guess Derozan could count with some of the players he played woth over there.
Reed can shoot and defend. I think the difference between Reed and Rob is their ability to defend. When I watched combine interviews of Rob, there were several instances when the reporters were asking him about his defense. That’s probably why he fell a little bit on the draft board, and also on top of that is his height and weight.
Teams drafts the player with the highest potential or the best develop players. 22-23 yrs old players usually are more polished that 18-21 yrs old players. 21-23 isn’t old. Teams are trading for 34 yrs old players and giving the max contracts.
McCants thought he was cooking when he started talking about the Spurs not starting young dudes. And they proceeded to cook him by naming all the rookies that Popovich had started throughout his career.
For McCant to be involved in the NBA it’s no way he not seeing the trend of picks being young Jayson Tatum 19 years old and damn near everyone else that comes out in the draft
